Indeed, one new set of curriculum thrown my way a few days before kids returned. It's a pretty radical, stylistic change from before. Of course that could've been a nightmare and yes its eating a lot prep time but it's totally worth it, superior to the old in every way. All classes off to a fantastic start really. :) I believe after tomorrow I'll be able to just use my normal prep hour to do stuff instead of knocking things around in the evening at home like a goofnugget...so I couldn't really ask for more.
Ooof, good luck. Another school about 20 minutes from ours in a different district had a principal that forced teachers to take down their gay pride flags, so it could be worse I suppose.
I can't get the episode of Hannibal featuring the lady who made apiaries out of human bodies out of my head right now, even though I think it's probably not going to get that dark.
Maybe don't google that if you're not a body horror person, rofl.
This is a copypasta so I apologize if you've already read this somewhere else. I've started my new job today, which means my posting will now likely be once or twice an evening rather than the more frequenting posting it has been. Just a heads up!
Its probably best we come up with a deceptive way for them all to be arrested, then steal the honeypotz when no one's looking. You know......a sting operation.
Not to be a BUZZkill, but I have a really hard time with vomit and vomit-related stuff in descriptions - gently asking we avoid in the future. Not mad or anything like that at all. You couldn't have known.
That's what I get for posting from my phone when I should be asleep, lol. I think I meant to say "lumbering steps from hidden feet somewhere below". Thanks, autocorrect ;P
Sorry I have been neglecting you all, life has been really busy and I have a bad habit of checking my games in order, which is alphabetical....so this one doesn't always get the love and care it deserves =D
No worries on my end. Being on vacation at the moment has me not paying as close attention to my games (both as a player and a DM) as I normally would.
Ok bear with me, maybe this is a stretch. It's a DM call, but I was thinking the copy would look like however you look when you use the ability? Disguise Self can then (beforehand) make you have whatever ridiculous solid gold armor and jewelry you want. A necklace made of 36 perfect diamonds, the Lost Helmet of Prince Spaceballs III etc. Plus the copy would be around for the fight giving you melee attack roll advantage on every swing, and the ability to break range rules with your spells.
Tossing this into discussion so it doesn't clog gameplay.
Mechanically speaking, I don't see why it wouldn't work, given that disguise self isn't a concentration spell.
However, it does take a spell slot to do a thing that could just as easily be accomplished by simply sending the duplicate in as-is.
True, I guess my thought on that score was since they are thieves they love phat lewt? Maybe they could still be lured out with the illusion of a girl without anything interesting to steal, sure. No worries if its a dumb plan, just bouncing an idea. Invoke Dupe is an awesome ability.
If it's the same group Elmer told us about + the ones who passed us by, I don't think we really need to do much to grab their attention other than exist, lol.
Lewtless, sure it might draw one out with mild interest. Lewt-loaded, it might cause infighting for who gets first dibs on the thing worth 20,000 platinum. And they'd be so focused on the carrot shaped treasure that Sammy's dagger about to sneak attack some bunny-booty would go unnoticed...or so distracted by the fresh cabbages you're double-fisting to grant Karley advantage on her stealth check for surprise. ;P
I mean whatever is clever, I just thought it was a cool combo that could spotlight some of your unused stuff. Let's just move on.
My only issue is that it doesn't jive with the "Go in and see what's up, cautiously, and prepared for a potential fight" approach we're taking. No need to antagonize them if we don't have to.
Moving on is good. I appreciate you thinking about interesting ways to use the ability.
Its kind of a lost opportunity that Vash's favored instrument isn't tambourine. And also that the passing of time in the fey-realm prevents true mornings. Jingle jangle is a great adjective. "Roberto, can you pass me my jingle jangle pants?"
Karley could never puzzle it out how Willow was able to squat so swiftly, snatching at her tiny arm 2 feet off the ground and tossing yet another debbie-downer bomb directly into the halfling's mischief. Coming from a trickery cleric, it seemed unfair. As for the squatting, in the end she supposed it was the tiefling blood that had gifted her such powerful thighs able to drop at a moment's notice...squats like that would win the Blood War one day. Regardless, the oil stayed stowed...for now.
It's all that aerialist work. ;) Strong legs, hanging from a big metal hoop, etc. :P
Some thoughts on the trickery cleric thing: The trickery domain doesn't necessarily equal mischief and chaos, especially with The Dreamwalker as a patron.
Subtlety, stealth, deception, and revenge are bigger motivators for Willow and just as acceptable as a trickery domain cleric. Willow isn't interested in chaos for the sake of chaos; there needs to be a practical reason to cause it (like revenge or a distraction, that sort of thing).
That's not to say she isn't impulsive and doesn't act on her impulses (she is a teenage girl, after all), like when she went running when we were at The Watcher and stuff, putting herself in danger, etc.
There's also the idea that Willow doesn't really know a ton about her patron deity. She's learning about The Dreamwalker/Zybilna/etc. as we all do.
Submitted early. Hope that helps clarify Willow's philosophy on shenanigans and the like. Willow is a pretty serious person who will hopefully loosen up as time goes on. Character development.
I would assume that the torch is still down there, but I don't have any strong opinions around snuffing it out or not at this point.
I believe Vash and Willow are the only party members with darkvision, (unless Nuruk is a One D&D playtest version of the dragonborn - personally I think the dragonborn should have always had darkvision) so I would assume we'd want to take the light source with us.
Karley is carrying a lit torch in addition to the one dropped. No strong opinion on stealth or not. Without Skulker feat, can't hide in dim light so would have to stay 40ft from a torch. As lightfoot I could hide behind a big person, but that doesn't help others.
