That show is on my ever-expanding list of things to watch...someday.
I did a quick search in the thread - Agdon Longscarf is the leader of the Harengon band - probably the one that passed us at the start! and they're at the Tollway. Can't look at Roll20 right now to see, but I believe that's north?

Sammy, you exchange your own thieves' tools for the nice set she has - not just for any key.
Willow Breakbough |
And will it mean Sammy posts more and interacts with the party more? ;)

Honestly, that depends on the party also.
Sam will have a limited form of communication when he gains his subclass, so that will help mitigate the various times where I've wanted to say something but realised I couldn't, and had to take soooo much time to think of a proper and creative way to communicate other than "he means this" because Sammy's player is a lazy retard.
On the other hand, there will still be times where having to go through nine or ten long, long posts will eat up my stamina and erode my self-assurance as a writer. That's not something that can be easily overcome - it'll just happen (because Sammy's player is a lazy retard), and no subclass Sammy takes is going to help. I belong to the "more and shorter posts" team.

Any one of us would be happy to help you come up with ways to help Sammy communicate!
The sign language has always been an option--Nuruk has it as a language and can help translate pretty well!
You don't need to have long, flowery, descriptive posts--I don't think anyone expects that at all. Sammy encouraging Willow to do cleric stuff was really fun.
As for the confidence part, I can't necessarily help there beyond assuring you that there are no expectations for you to write or be anyone but yourself! Calling yourself by a slur is certainly inaccurate. I find your posts as entertaining and fun to interact with as anyone else's here.

My dude, you're going to be fine. Quality is what is important, not quantity <3
I will say though, I'm not the biggest fan of the word "retard" being used a whole lot. You're a good writer and you just need time to practice it. I'm all for self-deprecation, being an avid (and unfortunate) user of it myself <3.

LOL, Willow can keep lavender as her favorite scent. I'm allergic to it IRL. I will live vicariously through her :P
Willow Breakbough |
I couldn't tell you. It sucks, because I LOVE the smell of lavender but it makes me swell up :P lol
Willow Breakbough |
Asked Fern via text, we don't need to do any kind of skill challenge. Just climb. She's good about saying something ahead of time if we need to do some kind of skill challenge to get on.
Willow Breakbough |
@Karley - if that doesn't work, Nuruk is probably the strongest and could probably help get Snook up, too!
Willow Breakbough |
I'm imagining the several people who are saying they're going last just standing around on the raft waiting for the other to go first. :P lol

A note about rooms, they are magical. The moment you open the door to your room, it becomes your ideal, perfect image of a room. It can be large and spacious, or small and cozy. It can be fit for a noble, or be an open air forest grove. Literally anything you want it to be, it is -- the food and drink there has flavor but does not actually sustain you, and nothing can be removed except what you bring in with you. No "loopholes" if you will. But feel free to describe your room.

Heads up, you guys shall hit Level 3 upon sleeping for the night at the Inn. Not because of the inn or anything, just because it's a good time to do it, and you all have been through a fair bit since leveling.
By the book you don't level until you meet one of the hags or enter a new part of Prismeer, but the odds are those two things happen in rapid succession, so I'm tossing you this one early. Makes more sense, being nearish to a halfway point in Hither, if a sandbox can be said to have a halfway point, lol. I've added a TON of things that aren't in the book, too, so it's felt like a long time.
You're welcome to level now, and any social skill rolls you need to make can be at the new values, you just won't get new spells and abilities until morning.
Vashrin Naevirion |
Yay! Are we rolling for HP or taking half?
Willow Breakbough |
hooray!
Vashrin Naevirion |
HP adjusted as if we are taking half. I'll roll if that is the route we are going.
Gains:
Access to 2nd level spells
1 spell known - Invisibility
Expertise in two skills - Performance and Perception
Bardic College - Lore
- Proficiency in 3 skills - History, Nature, Acrobatics
- Cutting Words

I love Khalil's beautiful writing so much.
Sammy Boy |
Khalil, have some DM-inspiration for that post my dude.
More than fair!
Sammy boy will go to bed as level 2. He'll wake up in the morning to discover his new capabilities!
Sammy, boy, don't you know who you are
Why can't you be happy at the Emerald Bar
Khalil Quietcrow |
EDIT: Khalil, have some DM-inspiration for that post my dude. Advantage on a roll stockpiled away for when ya need it. Tying everything together with the stars and such was sooo good.
Thanks for the Inspiration. :)
Level 3
+6HP
Adding 1st Level: Speak with Animals
Adding 2nd Level: Enhance Ability, Heat Metal
Vashrin Naevirion |
Same here apparently. If we went average, I'd have 1 fewer HP. On the upside, Willow will have 6 more than she currently has.
Willow Breakbough |
If we're going average, my HP should have been higher at level 2 - haha. I can adjust it for that too, which puts me at 19 hp.
2nd level spells! Mirror Image, Pass without Trace (excellent for stealth), Prayer of Healing, and Spiritual weapon. (She gets more spells than that, but that's what I prepared)
Need to get her Alias updated still.
Vashrin Naevirion |
Now that I look at it, Willow, even if you did roll for level 2 HP and you rolled a "1" you should have 13 HP with a 14 CON. (and 24 total at 3rd if we're going average)
Willow Breakbough |
Shoot, I'll take it. Good looking out, Vash.
Vashrin Naevirion |
For consistency's sake, average it is. That brings Vash down 1 HP, but like Fern said, it's gonna help more folks than the measly 1 HP it's going to cost me.
EDIT: Looks like it might end up hurting Nuruk and Sammy too.
Sammy Boy |
Average is fine. In this case I got lucky at level 2, but who knows what the future has for me. That way we're all even.
As you all can already figure, Sam is going Soulknife Soulcard.
HP +7
New feature: Steady Aim
New feature: Psionic Powers
New feature: Psi-Bolstered Knack
New feature: Psychics Whispers (oh yeah!)
New feature: Psychic Blades Cards
You can call me Gambit if you wish!
Willow Breakbough |
Willow's going to go socialize with NPCs when I get the time to sit down and write something. This week has been super busy for me - meetings on meetings on meetings.
Willow Breakbough |
Hmmm, it would be fun if there could somehow be a lyra hoop laying around this Fae Inn...Vash and Willow could combine skills and do some improv hoop dancing to whatever music Vash's heart desires :P
