I'll eat it. No worries.
Edit: I mean tank the damage. Not eat the bat. Then again...
My apologies, I have been under the weather in real life, which translated to an enormous amount of sleep. I would say I feel like a teenager ... nah, my back still hurts ;)
But what did I miss? Someone listened at a door and then it opened and they got hurt? and K10 thought everyone left the campaign because there were less than 10 posts in a 5 hour period? Yeah I thought that too :)

Lol! Bats cannot possibly taste good. Blah.
Well, if you say so. But I sure hate for you too because MAN that thing can do some nasty damage.
Will edit post.

Trying to catch up: Joran in down 12?

No. Yasami decided to take the damage. Unless she changes her mind? She still could you know. I don't mind. Just have to edit my post again. Huh? Huh? Yasami? :)

I accounted for the multiple-choice attack in Oren's post. But Yasami and Joran can be pleased to know that he thinks both of them are attractive, even if he can't tell them apart in this particular moment.

As a clergymember, Cev is well trained: he can help you tell them apart ;)

Chronomancy.
Yeah, I get things like that a lot when trying to have a conversation between Caiten and Sulee.
Man I bet you do. I was in another thread and was posting two different posts and the second post jumped the first one. So I had to delete that one and place it back properly otherwise it wouldn't have made sense. So weird why that happens.

Everyone calm down. I'm not dead yet. Consider it a show of trust.

K10 thought everyone left the campaign because there were less than 10 posts in a 5 hour period?
I didn't think everyone left, I just thought everyone got busy with real life.
Oren Strelov
Nice hit, Oren! Man I'm thinking we just need one more solid hit and hopefully that'll do it.
Dario's getting Magic Weapon placed on his gun, so that should be enough to get the job done.

Just teasing: I slept for like 12 hours and figured I would come back to 100+ messages to read ;)

Making sure I know where we are at:
It was a couple of minutes at least between killing the rats and opening the West door. The bat attacked. Several of us attacked (or did other combat type stuff). Currently it is Dario and Lisi up, then the bat. Yes?
Javell DeLeon
Wow. I'm fairly certain I'm wrong. It may take another couple of hits looking at that bat's hit point bar. Well, either that or a crit. I really think it's going to take a crit to drop it.
This is going to get real interesting. Man this is what makes it fun though! :)
Caiten
Given the damage from Dario's crit earlier, I'm fairly sure that a crit with the pistol after being powered up to 2 damage dice would likely one-shot it from full health.
Unfortunately Magic Weapon only gives a +1 to hit. So hitting is questionable and crit'ing is unlikely.
Dario Zuz
I got a +10 at the moment. Getting a critical is better now than without it, at the very least. If I can roll high on both dice, that'd be neat.
Oren Strelov
It's taken 22 points of damage so far. If it's not dead, it's gotta be close at least. Lisi might be able to kill it if it's still up.
Javell DeLeon
@Dario: 2d6 damage for a pistol! Man that is awesome. Just keep blasting away! Maybe Joran should've invested in guns. ;)
@Oren: That's true, if Lisi does hit it that should drop it. But I'd hate for him to get into the thick of battle and miss. Hopefully he's got some type of ranged weapon.
Because I'd be shocked if the extra 10 damage alone drops it. When you look at the 12 you did, the hp bar that's left is way more than the 12 that's missing.
It's definitely gonna need one more solid hit I feel. I'd say somewhere between 6 to 10 damage. Hopefully not more than 10. Well, as long as an 18 hits that is. Boy that would be something if that's not good enough. I'd be shocked if it's not. With all the attacks, it's either been feast or famine. Me and Yasami couldn't hit water if we fell out of a boat this time around. But you and Dario hit with ease with y'all's awesome rolls!
Dario Zuz
@Javell - From what I've seen from the gunslinger so far, you're able to eventually be blasting your pistol all the damn time. I think I actually took the less damage-intensive, tankier way but being a drifter sounds so cool. They're definitely built around the idea of having explosive damage; if I get good luck and hit a critical, it would be 2d10+1 doubled plus an additional 1d10. That is a hell of a hit.
I don't really know how runes and talismans really work in this game but I am definitely for upping the accuracy and damage of the pistol as much as possible.
Caiten
Note:. I did some digging and this is a grey area -- Reactions are exempt from MAP, but since this reaction takes two attacks, and the rules are usually explicit when MAP doesn't increase , I'm decreeing it would apply to the bat's second attack.
Wow. That is an interesting grey area.

Celebrating my birthday today and yesterday...uh and tomorrow I am carving a flute with an Indigenous cultural representative...so posting will be down. But I hiked the heck out of some hills yesterday! Living the druid/bard life!

It is a small, tiny thing but I would like to say how much I adore animals actually trying to run away when they have the ability to do so. I may have chosen a (good) murder hobo but I like seeing those reactions when the odds are stacked against the enemy.

Happy Birthday.
It's interesting our birthdays are so close. My birthday was actually yesterday - the 26th. I'm now 42. My age is the ultimate answer.
Yasami
Happy birthday to both of you. One belated, but still.

Happy birthday, Axolotl!

Lol! Yes it is! 42 is definitely the answer to "life the universe and everything." Good one. :D
And Happy birthday to you as well. :)

Again, making sure that we are all on the same page:
Yasami is fine, Cev healed her mid-combat for 14 of the 12 points of damage taken from the bat. I don't think any of the rest of us took damage from that combat.
Several of us have actions taken that haven't been confirmed/resolved by Fern. Whether that is from scanning, searching, or simply moving through the new areas.
And we are waiting for someone to work up the courage (or consensus of the group that we are done in our current area) to open the next door.
Yes?
Oren Strelov
I think that we're waiting on Fern to give the results of Joran and Dario's (mainly Dario's) Perception checks before they open the next door.

Yasamina wipes the blood from her healed shoulder, leaving a red smear on her arm. She licks her hand to clean it up.
Hah. Talk about edgy.

Didn't mean it that way, but I am definitely not wiping that blood into the dress.
Although it probably has a few stains at this point. We've been in a few encounters already.
Eh. What's done is done.
Caiten
Well, intentional or not, I thought it was a pretty good character moment.

42 is a great age! Here's to universe-sized computers!
I got to the full half-century. Feelin' good, mostly. No lumbago or whatever it is older people get (yet).
Caiten
Ah. It's all good. It just means that you don't have to re-post once someone does find it.
Unless all of us fail our rolls, we likely won't leave the area once Caiten announces the presence of free magical stuff.
Caiten
Unless there are other surprises in this room, I think we are done with it. Our de-facto door kicker doesn't usually come available online for a few hours yet. There may be other people in similar position, so I'm sticking to RP or patiently waiting for now.
Caiten
Caiten examines the claw he found before handing it to Lisi...Identifying magic is supposed to take ten minutes, in situations like this where we are casually exploring and not under a super pressing time constraint I'm happy to handwave it a bit, but assuming you're taking your time...
Yeah, A bit of chronomancy going on. Lisi and I probably had that interaction while still in the previous clerical room.
I updated the inventory sheet for the talisman and the healing potions.

I mean, we -do- have gunpowder.
