Krysta was surprised at how fast the fight went, in fact every fight they had been involved in had done so, and it was strange. Intellectually she always knew the battles in her tabletop games were usually less than a minute in length, but actually experiencing it was something new. She was just starting to relax a little when Jellena came back with a snake in tow and said she found a fight for her.

Krysta quickly moved to Jellena and flanked the snake before snapping her jaws at it.

This brightly colored snake assumes an aggressive posture, its hissing mouth open to display its fangs. Krysta moves to a flanking position and bites it leaving a bloody wound behind. Jellena seems to almost call to it, it lunges and she dodges to the side.

Description
Infamous among travelers for its deadly poisonous bite, the emperor cobra is a foul-tempered snake typically encountered in bogs. The snake’s scales are generally a dark green, with a pale green or even ivory underbelly. Its eyes are bright red and lack the distinctive serpentine slit most snake eyes possess. Emperor cobras are often trained to serve as guardians in temples. They are 16 feet long and weigh 200 pounds.

A few minutes later Matthew returns. A gangly humanoid in each hand. He walks into the clearing and stops about 40 feet away. The critters have given up trying to resist.

Then you notice a red cap on each of them, a blaring detail that seemed to be hidden from you until now. Matthew has one on his head too!

Knowledge, Perception, sense motive or another skill... this will determine if you act in surprise round. What was the DC for your frienship aura?

Krysta was pleased with taking down the snake, especially that it had been unable to hurt her between the spells cast on her and her scales. When they began to discuss about advancing to the dungeon Krysta found herself more than a little nervous at the idea. She was no where near her best right now and she wasn't sure she would survive such a thing in her current state. "I am still not feeling my best after dying so I am not sure it is such a good idea for me to be going there...,"

She was about to say more when Matthew reappeared and Jellena suddenly commanded them to run. Krysta did not hesitated and began to run in the opposite direction of Matthew. She learned her lesson about not listening to Jellena when she said something like that and did not want to die again, not since this time she would not be coming back if she did.

Ramie gasps in dismay, "S#*+! He found the Redcaps! I think he's under a charm!" She yells, the Floof taking position between her and the big man. "Don't strike him yet if you can help it, I might be able to break him out of it. Oh... Desna, please help us all..." She murmurs her prayer as she prepares to cast.

Aura of Friendship (Sp):

Any creature within 60 feet of the character must succeed at a DC 28 Will saving throw or have its attitude adjusted to friendly toward both the character and any other creatures currently within the aura’s area of effect, as per charm monster. This positive attitude toward other targets of the ability lasts for 1 day after leaving the character’s aura. A creature that leaves and reenters the character’s aura can attempt another saving throw. A creature that successfully saves against this ability is immune to that character’s aura for 24 hours. Being attacked by another creature within the aura (including the character) immediately ends the forced friendliness toward that creature and prompts a new save against the aura, with the standard +5 bonus for being threatened while charmed. The save DC is Charisma-based.

She watches closely for signs if her aura has an effect, if not, she casts one of her most beloved bard spells, Unbreakable Heart on the weirdly emotionless Matthew. Also a will save, DC 26

As Matthew drops two of the red caps from his hands and moves forward to attack, others fall off his back. They seem amiable as they get up, holding their scythe in a hand. They just watch, hooting, and hollering to incite the tussle. As Matthew moves around, you see there is a large scythe in his back and a medium redcap on his back still.

The large scythe glows black and the medium sized redcap cackles.

Guessing that some of the Redcaps have fallen friendly due to her aura, Ramie makes an effort to glean some information before the battle turns them back into foes.

Krysta was hating fleeing and leaving Jellena and the others to fight and she hated it! She had learned lesson after the treants though and was doing as instructed. Unfortunately, that meant running back into the trees and that terrified her because any one of them could be another treant in disguise and she would never know. As soon as she saw a way up she flapped hard and flew up above the canopy, well out of reach of any of the branches, just in case, and began to circle back towards where her friends were fighting.

Krysta didn't come down, staying well up in the air so she could see what was happening and hoped she was well out of the line of fire. She felt worthless and helpless and weak being unable to help and simply did not know what she should do. One thing is for sure, she should try to find another way to deal damage, one for use at range. She wasn't sure how though, maybe she should consider using one of her remaining wishes to gain the ability to launch a scale as a projectile or something. It was certainly food for thought.
