Hello again!
Since the GM cited and linked a table for starting wealth, I had a look at it. It states we start with 1 level 1 item and 20 gp.
Any advice on what this level 1 item could be? I'm fairly new. What do you guys usually pick up? I'm finding quite some interesting things. I guess we cannot take Uncommon items, yeah?

Normally the GM has to approve anything that isn't common, or gives permission for choosing Uncommon items upfront.

I see...
Well, I've just found out that after 2 days of searching and going through choices, the character I was about to finish is basically the same as some other who just applied in the first page. Even the equipment and the Background xD
That means all goes to waste and I'll have to start from scratch (sigh). Hopefully all this researching has helped me get a grasp of the rules more or less.

Well, there are a finite amount of classes to choose from. And even fewer backgrounds since we are limited to the ones associated with the campaign.
As long as you have a different archetype and personality, I don't think it would be a big problem. A different campaign I am in has two Barbarians. One Giant instinct and one Dragon instinct. They have similar combat tactics, but they are very different characters other than that.

It is a little hard to avoid, but every character will have at least slight differences hopefully and definitely a different backstory if you wrote one. If Someone submits a Ranger with a wizard archtype for example, someone else might submit a ranged fighter with a sorcerer archtype or a Ranger with a bard archetype indicating only slight difference in spells.
I try not to look at other people's choices, because some games the GM allows two arcane casters or two melee fighters or two clerics/healers. I submit what I want to play and try not to let what other people submitted affect what I'll play. If I'm joining an already going campaign and it is asked to bring in a melee, okay I'll submit according to the needs of the party, but when I'm applying for a new game I submit a character that I can play and give life to from beginning to end.

And here we have it!
Garth Smithson, Badge #973
-Background-
Born in the struggling colony of Sargava, the young Garth grew up in a small Chelish family of a trained master swordsman, his father. One of four siblings between his father, an aged elf and his mother, the daughter of a wealthy merchant. In the days before the later revolution that would topple the surviving Chelish Gov’t, his family lived a somewhat privileged life among the more wealthier citizenry. Garth was mostly unaware of such until his later years, as growing wanderlust brought him out of the more hospitable parts of the capitol to the growing unrest of the late colony that festered in the lower classes.
In a stroke of luck and fortune, Garth decided to take a chance and left home in 4716 AR, deciding to both escape issues of home and to pursue an acting and musical career at one of the bard colleges of Absalom at the age of 18. It wouldn’t take long for the apparent unrest to finally come to its violent climax as revolution took hold. Among the casualties where his own family, losing both his mother and father in the violent clashes, as well as two of his siblings. This event wrecked a disastrous toll as Garth felt guilty for leaving his family behind, dropping out of college and pursuing ways of passage for his younger sister with most of his remaining college funds.
Now out of college and unemployed while keeping care of his now troubled younger sister, Garth took up a job with the Lotus Guard, putting his skills and talents to use as a member of one of their undercover agencies. A growing star among the force, he proved to be a rather charming asset in efforts of spying and gathering intelligence on criminal gangs that used the theaters of the district as fronts. A born liar, he easily passed from identity to identity, disguising himself through his flowery words and looks from performance to performance. It was only after a recent investigation that his identity as a mole was revealed by a traitor and Garth was sent away to lay low.
-Personality-
In his youth, Garth was a jubilant child with a natural charisma and flair. His attitude was one of a happy-go-lucky sort, but after the death of a large portion of his family, it had become only one of an exterior look, hiding a highly stressed and anxious individual. He often tells jokes, even if not called for, and likes to recite certain parts of plays and performances that he has and at times hadn’t attended when called for.
He has a strong love for his sister, which he cares deeply for in a brotherly fashion. To an extent, he can be rather overprotective, but usually concedes to his sister’s demands. His sister is the only one that knows of his internal misery and usually tries to cheer him up, she herself dealing with her own personal trauma from the revolution.
-Appearance-
A half elf young man with soft features, auburn hair tied in a small knot behind his head in a ponytail, and rich green eyes. His skin lightly tanned, with little blemish, of which he likes to cover over in a variety of disguises depending on the assignment. However, while in uniform, Garth strays even partially outside the norm, wearing a Sargavan style peaked tricorn hat and long riding boots that make its way up below the knee.

So, Lazverinus, it says dragon barbarian at the top of your character sheet page, but later on it says giant instinct. Which one did you mean to choose? Seems like you were deciding between the two and forgot to change it in another spot.
Yeah! I had an idea in mind and changed it later on. Lazverinus is a Giant barbarian. He might actually have a bit of Giant's blood himself, who knows!
When he levels up, he's probably wield am ogre hook if that is allowed.

I’ve taken a look at the submissions, including my own of Drogyn Locke who was in the original campaign, and I thought it would be interesting to use the Political Scion background and built a different character. We didn’t have a lot of caster submissions, and putting a Sorcerer forward allowed for a blaster caster that also could do some healing, and act as a face for the group. I went with Bard dedication as well to fit in with the political side as well as compliment the casting. I hope it’s alright to make the switch. I just saw that we can melee well handled by a lot of other submissions and thought this might be a better fit.

Raian walks through the lobby and into the waiting room. He glances around at the others there. "Hmm... There are quite a few really good candidates here. Looks like some pretty stiff competition."
"Well, today is the big day. Good luck everyone."
He takes a seat against the wall where he can watch what is going on.

Top Agents Welcome!
#237 Chomski Bramblebuckle a Political Scion
#491 Tanaterra Tibeth of the Godless Greycloaks
#908 Lazverinus a Grizzled Muckraker
#968 Raian Oweraven of the Harbor Guard
To those of you in my other game, I decided against dual-play-through on principal, and not because you all aren't fine players - just wanted to try some fresh blood here!
Please report to Gameplay over the next day or two, it should be up by the time most of you look. Going to jump right into the action, and I recommend you read my "Skill Challenge" Alias so as to wrap your head around the mechanics of narrative "victory point" style challenges, so as to assist you in making your posts.
Cheers.
