Sorry, didn't want to direct the narrative too much and let you ask for things naturally.
- Religion on the creatures.
- Religion or Arcana on the portal.
- Crafting or Nature on the magma.
- A Nature check for the ceiling.
- A DC 0 Nature check to know that magma is hot and falling into it is bad for you.

Cherry Berry |

While Cherry has the skills to help, it is anthima for Cherry to lie, and they are untrained in deception.
I suspect Cherry attempting to help would be a little counterproductive.

![]() |

I have the same question, GM.
Who is allowed to help, and how?
Do I just post the skills I have and write a post around their use?
Or do I wait first, see what others do, and then post what I got?
=)

GM Kwinten |

As I said in the Campaign tab, everyone can help with the altar. Feel free to flavour it however you want.
Only a single person has to make the Deception check, but others can Aid if they want to.
So in practice, Cherry Berry can do a Religion check to reroute the portal, but does not have to make the Deception check (as long as someone else does).

Kka Magwi |

As far as Deception goes, it seems that Kvit is at +14, Kka is at +15 (with her ring) and Lough is at +15. Looks like it might be best if either Kka or Lough make the Deception roll.
Should I go ahead and have Kka do it?

Kka Magwi |

Go for it
Okay, I made the roll. It might be enough, but Aid rolls to the Deception from Kvit and Lough might improve the odds.
We're also still waiting on Religion, Arcana, or Occultism checks from Cherry and Lough.

GM Kwinten |

I wanted to say, it feels more appropriate to do the check afterwards after they see what the result of your meddling is. But no worries, I can work with this. My only worry is that I might make it look like they give up too soon. >_>

GM Kwinten |

By the way, I'm very open to creative solutions. I have laid out the rules in my previous post, but if you know of a way to circumvent them, I'm all for it. :)

Kvit the Ruin Delver |

Apologies for delaying in posting. Wife is 39weeks pregnant and is sick with a bad cold/cough and has now sprained or dislocated a rib while sneezing repeatedly. So it's been very hard to find time to post this week.
Speaking of. Due date is Oct 25th, so might be disappearing for a day or two depending on how things go and when they go.
It really sucks that we were the ones that released Rajani's soul! We had them in our grasp!

GM Kwinten |

Ouch! Good luck, Kvit (and Kvit's wife)! Take care of yourself, your wife, and your offspring, we can wait. :)

Kka Magwi |

I thought we returned the sword to the mayor and it is back in the museum, but if one of us still has it on their person, that will definitely speed things up.

GM Kwinten |

I'm fine with saying you still have it on you. Doesn't matter for the story, and if you tell the mayor what you're gonna use it for, he'll agree. This just speeds everything up.

Kka Magwi |

Tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday I will be taking a short trip to Los Angeles to see some of the sights. I will have my iPad with me and should be able to post in the evenings if necessary. But, if I post less that usual over the weekend, you'll know why. With Kvit taking some time off for the arrival of his new progeny, I expect there will not be a lot of activity this weekend regardless.

Ding! You're level up!
This also concludes book 2 of the Abomination Vaults! Time for a check-in with everyone.
First off, I'd like to thank everyone for sticking with the campaign for so long. We've been going for three years now, which is incredible. I'm really happy to GM for you and I love all of your characters.
Do you have any feedback for me? Positive, negative, everything is appreciated.
Anything else you want to say? To me, to the other players, to the endless void that encroaches upon us all?
Last level, we mentioned the possibility of maybe quitting the campaign. We've been playing for three years, and most of our lives have changed. I am still 100% committed to running for you if you want to, but I understand if people have had enough.
This was a relatively quick level. Lots of social encounters (I made some slightly more talktative than scripted, but not much), and big rooms. Previous level was in retrospect indeed way too long, with too many tiny rooms holding us up. I should've cut a few more combats there, I think. I haven't looked too far ahead into book 3 yet, but I can tell there's at least one level with similar denseness as level 6. But I know now how much is reasonable and I'll be cutting more combats to keep things going smoothly. We've done two books in three years now. But with me working now and having less time to post, I think the final book would take about two more years to complete, maybe slightly less if I'm more judiciously cutting combats.
As for Society play, you've earned your chronicle sheets. If you want to know before you assign the sheet so you can maybe build your character around it, this chronicle unlocks the Eldritch Researcher archetype for your character, as well as "certain spells" from the book. Which are probably Daydreamer's Curse and Savant's Curse, which aren't too exciting.
There's also several Keepsakes on the sheet. Keepsakes are items where you can buy only one of the options listed and cross off the others. So if you buy option A, you can't buy option B. Your Keepsakes are the Cooperative Blade, a drover's band, the hunter's brooch, ichthyosis mutagen, and the sloughing toxin (the way I read it, you can buy multiple of the same consumable).
Regular items on the sheet are the battle lute, folding drums, and the tamchal chakram.
(Sorry for no links, at work right now and it blocks the website.)

Also, Lough wanted to change class into the Exemplar. I haven't looked into it yet, but I think I'm fine with it. But I'd like to ask the other players to weigh in as well. I'd like an unanimous vote on if it's okay for Lough to change classes.

Archetype unlock: Eldritch Researcher
Spell Access: Daydreamer's Curse
Sage's Curse (I think its this one, I can't find anything called Savant's Curse in AoN.)
Keepsakes: (Can only pick one)
Cooperative Blade
Drover's Band
Hunter's Brooch
Ichthyosis Mutagen
Sloughing Toxin
Item access:
Folding Drums
Battle Lute
Tamchal Chakram
Feedback
Thank you for continuing to run the game! It's been great.
Overall I'm still enjoying this adventurer and intend to continue on. Using the RSS feed to actually get notifications (even though they seem randomly delayed between a few minutes and a few hours) has helped me keep track of updates much more easily.
I did like the speed and flow of this most recent floor and we seemed to get stuck in choice-limbo less often.
I think you have definitely taken the last set of feedback into account and have noticed a difference in how we make decisions and understanding the situation at hand. Some good combats and two memorable "non-combat solutions"
I'm still in this for the long run. I'm happier with Kvit having dropped the alchemist dedication.
As long as Lough is still Lough, I don't mind what class he is. It might be jarring if he suddenly also had some entirely different persona. (But that might also be par for the course for Lough, lol). I certainly don't mind the switch. I don't know much about the class, but it seems like it should still fill a similar role to the front-line fighter.

Quick weigh in.
I have recently (last two months) over-committed myself to too many games - with Outpost winding down, I am looking to choose a sane number of games, and a hard limit. I apologize that it has affected my posting quality. On top of a new job and having a one-year-old, I just had my bid for a house accepted - it is a fixer-upper - we hope to close by early December, propelling me out of the Rent Game, which I have grown to absolutely abhor. I simply cannot maintain too many games without a significant dropp-off quality like I used to, and am still adjusting. But yes. I'm thinking:
1) Abomination Vaults (play)
2) Season of Ghosts (gm)
3) PFS Escapades (play)
plus maybe one or two others at most.
Which is to say, I am in for the long haul. And rebuilding Lough already as an Exemplar, which is 90% done, keeping his essential personality, even his archetypes, and his role as a front-liner inclusive of Reactive Strike. I will likely be able to have him ready at the same time everyone else has leveled to 8. The ikons I chose basically lean in a little heavier to his heritage, something I had started doing with him narratively at level 1, and lost somewhere along the way.
=)
In terms of GM feedback, I made a request recently to have both narrative and mechanical solutions outlined in game posts, and was pleasantly surprised to have GM immediately and consistently acquiesce those requests. So, thank you, and though I may not have participated in the last skill challenge (Lough was NOT having no devil-soul shenanigans!), I was happy to see those play out.
My own goal for the next phase of this game is, with a reduced campaign load and a "shiny new chassis", to rediscover the roots of this character, to focus more on internal thoughts, and to interact with the other players and game world more.
Ready to roll!

Kvit the Ruin Delver |

Will need to update stats in the profile here but the highlights:
Class Feat: Knowledge is Power! I think this will be an amazing buff at the beginning of combat. It requires Kvit to crit on a RK, but that's very feasible normally.
FA Feat: Lorefinder Once per day Locate. Which may come in handy for finding key pieces again...
Skill Feat: Additional Lore - Spirit Lore. I feel like we'll run into some ghosts again...
@GM Kwinten Is there a chronicle sign up sheet? Will apply it to Sunbeam Through Clouds again

Kvit the Ruin Delver |

I'm definitely interested. How does it work? I use the summon spells and Kvit's spell protection array is sustained.

![]() |

My PFS version of Lough will be slightly different - being a "Sterling Dynamo" really changes his flavor a bit, and too, I've always built "Abomination" Lough with you guys specifically in mind (ex. Snagging Strike, which once-upon-a-time was useful before Kka learned to Gang Up). So, I have a choice to make between two Dominion Epithets - one that is pretty solid stand-alone, and another that helps facilitate party cooperation. Both of them are "on theme" for Lough, so the decision is essentially tactical.
Basically, the Exemplar works by locating his Divine Spark into one of three Ikons - for Lough, being a Changeling, I have chosen two "eye" ikons (one for each color) and one for his claws, leaning into his heritage. While the Divine Spark resides in an Ikon, you gain a passive ability and an active ability - the active abilities are triggered by a Spark Transcendence action, providing a large benefit for that round, and immediately shifting the Divine Spark to a different Ikon. Since you can only Spark Transcendence once per round, this means he must cycle through his Ikons, which acts like a 1-round cooldown for any particular Ikon - no spamming a single Ikon every round - you must play dynamically.
As the Exempler hits certain benchmarks - 3rd and 7th - he gains a choice of another rider-action whenever he Sparks Transcendence - but can only use one at a time. For 3rd level, Lough chose a general always-useful rider-action that gives him a free Feint or Diversion (◇) whenever he Sparks Transcendence; an easy default.
For his 7th level rider action, I am deciding between one that allows an ally to gain a free Sustain action (◇) granted at the beginning of their turn (with a 10-minute cooldown per ally), or, another general always-useful action.
If I get at least one party member to demonstrate interest in wanting to coordinate on this level, I will select the "free Sustain" option, because, well, it's funner. If not, no sweat, the other option too is solid. And, they are both "on theme".
Would anyone like to start messing around with more Sustain spells? The free Sustain means you get to essentially Sustain, Cast a new spell, and either Move, Recall, or use some other 3rd action on rounds we coordinate!
Either way, Lough is 95% done.
=)

Yes, that sounds wonderful. I would definitely look at more sustain options if I had some free options.
If nothing else I would use the summon spells more. If we go back to town there are a few spells I'd like to learn and try out.

That decides it for me. Here is the exact language:
When you Spark Transcendence, your divine spark releases a sublime song that harmonizes with your allies. Lough will roleplay this as the lullaby he has described remembering before... Until the start of your next turn, any of your allies that starts their turn within 30 feet of you can hum to Sustain one of their effects that can be sustained. This is a free action triggered by the ally's turn beginning. Your song then ends, and that ally can't benefit from this ability again for 10 minutes. This is an auditory and mental effect.
Basically, if I see an ally has used a sustainable effect in a recent round, I will very-likely use this feature. If the fight runs longer, I will revert back to my other feature, as it's 1/ally/10-min.
@Cherry, feel free to dogpile. Even if you "just" use it for Bless, that would be a "free" aura expansion, etc.
=)

GM Kwinten |

Thanks for the links, Kvit. And yeah, it's really called Savant's Curse in my book. Weird.
For the chronicle, just give me your number and current XP total, since I need to write down gold rewards in increments of four XP (saying "two chronicles into level four" also helps, then I know to award you one time level 4 gp, two times level 5 gp).
Do note, as Lough said, that Verse Unbroken is a one-time sustain per 10 minutes. You can't keep relying on Lough to sustain all the time.
Lough: though there is a lot of overlap with Snagging Strike and Kka's Gang Up, I see an important difference: Snagging Strike also works on ranged attacks and ranged spells. I recall several spells connecting because of Snagging Strike. Not sure if that's worth keeping the feat, but thought I'd mention it.

I don’t have a problem with Lough changing classes; whatever makes him happy is fine by me.
I quite enjoyed this last level. I got to RP more than usual and it was nice to figure out ways of getting through encounters without having to get into a slugfest. I really like it when I can lean into Kka’s Intimidation abilities.
My personal situation has also changed quite a bit over the past year. I met a wonderful woman and after dating for a while, we moved in together. The only downside is that I have far less free time nowadays, which means that I can no longer play the 4-6 games I used to previously. If I can’t give a game the time it deserves to properly RP my character, I’d rather not play. Right now I am playing in two APs: Abomination Vaults and Stolen Fate. It is all I’ve got time for.
Bottom line is that if everyone else is still gung-ho to continue with this AP, then count me in as well. Because of the dungeon crawl nature of the AP, I don’t expect a lot of variation between chapters (same story; different monsters), but if things go more like the level we just finished, that should make up for some of it a little.
Kka’s leveling up and chronicle stuff will have to wait until Monday when I’m back home and have the time to deal with it. It shouldn’t take long as I’ve pretty much built Kka out to 10th level on Pathbuilder so it’s just a matter of double-checking my feat choices. There is also some deciding on what stuff to buy, which means going through a loot processing cycle. If everyone can wait until Monday, I’ll take care of that then as well.

![]() |

The only "downside"...
=)
Lough is damn near ready to go, minus some equipment, pending what "funds" he will have dispensed to him. I'd like to get a backup ranged weapon (right now, my range caps at 30 feet with TK Projectile), as well as explore a couple more cantrips - altogether, about 150 gold worth of stuff. He already has:
4: Striking Handwraps of Mighty Blows (100.00)
5: Armor Potency Rune (160.00)
6: Spellguard Shield (250.00)
7: Lesser Reinforcing Rune (300.00)
8: Resilient Rune (340.00)
Let me know if I have made a mistake?
Which, according to the Wealth by Level table, looks to be about on-track.
@GM,
For my L8 Archetype feat, I'd like to request access and a re-flavor of Stasian Smash into "Borbo Bash" - even willing to accept a "flaw" of some sort if you wanna get cheeky. Lmk?

Kvit the Ruin Delver |

Just FYI, baby three is now here! So posting again and updating Kvit will have to wait til tomorrow probably.

Cherry Berry |

I'm more than happy to keep going, though a lot of the time I fear I am not contributing much rp.
Cherry does need to rebuild a couple of feats though. I picked up Reach Spell meta-magic two levels ago through the Druid Archetype and have never remembered to use it. (Admittedly, ditto the Leshy Familiar.)
I should probably retrain the meta-magic into Basic Druid Spellcrafting and at least add a couple of extra spells-per-day.
I also need some proper advice on 4th level spells, as I now have three slots of them and have never used them.

Yeah, I was quite happy with how well-balanced this level was. A few tough fights (Cherry Berry blew through four of their Heals), but also lots of opportunity for RP and skill checks here and there. And enough variety that neither got stale. Also helps that this was quite a short level, so quality over quantity, whereas the previous level was the other way around, I feel.

Don't worry about needing to contribute. You mentioned before that your life is hectic, I understand completely. Feel free to contribute as much as you're comfortable with. No shame in takign a little time off for yourself. That's actually kinda how I see Cherry Berry: staying in the background until things (are about to) go horribly wrong, and piping up with a clever comment. And we've got three other weirdos to pick up the RP, so don't worry about not pulling your weight. You're doing absolutely fine.
Feel free to retrain some feats, I'm cool with that.
As for spells.. Not entirely familiar with fourth-rank spells, but the ones that pop out to me:
- Air Walk is a good utility spell. Creatures start to fly a lot now, so being able to chase after them is good. Maybe a bit of overlap with Kvit's Levitate, though.
- Divine Wrath is a "safe" Fireball that only hits enemies, with a nice debuff attached as well. Only downside is that 4d10 can be a bit swingy. You could end up doing 5 damage if the dice roll poorly.
- Enervation might be a bit difficult to place, but I've seen it do a lot of work.
- Pernicious Poltergeist is a sustained spell, but has a lot of flexibility and is quite powerful.
- Vital Beacon is an interesting healing spell. It's not as good as a Heal spell in a single round, but you can fire it off in the morning and have four single-action healing actions that either you or an ally can perform. Don't know if it's worth it as a Cleric, as you already have Heals, but I like the spell in concept.
You could also see about heightening lower-rank spells.
- Dispel Magic will always be awesome to have when faced with a spellcaster or a nasty effect.
- Holy Light does a ton of damage. Needs a to hit roll though, and your rolls have been bad, but that's bound to end eventually.
- Agonizing Despair might not be up your alley, but I thought I'd mention it.

Kka Magwi |

Congratulations Kvit on the new addition to the family.
Here's a first cut at the loot accounting. I left off the Slaver's Ruby since it is probably too dangerous for us to sell with clean consciences and Lough appears to be rather attached to it.
Stuff We're Keeping
Slaver's Ruby [Lough]
A: Cash or equivalent
918.02 - Starting Cash
50.0 - Cold Iron Chunks
20.0 - Silver Chunks
500.0 - Adamantine Chunk
5.6 - Silver Pieces [56]
50.0 - Rare Waxes and Perfumes
A TOTAL: 1523.62
B: Equipment that we're cashing in at 50%
1.0 - Glaive
210.0 - Spell Strike Arrow (Type III)
210.0 - Lesser Energy Breath Potion (Fire)
130.0 - Explosive Ammunition (Arrow)
100.0 - Alchemist's Fire (Moderate)
35.0 - +1 Chakram
100.0 - Gallows Tooth
200.0 - Elemental Gem (Transparent)
55.0 - Grim Trophy
100.0 - +1 Striking Kukri
60.0 - Scroll (L3): Restore Senses [2]
500.0 - Bands of Force
300.0 - Spacious Pouch (Type II)
B TOTAL = 2001.0 (1000.5 @ 50%)
C: Purchases
340.0 - Resilient Rune [Kka]
340.0 - Boots of Bounding [Kka]
C TOTAL = 680.0
GRAND TOTAL = 1814.12 (A:1493.62 + B:1000.5 - C:680.0)
Please double check my accounting and if there are any items on the sell list that someone wants to keep, let me know.
Time to break out those wishlists. We're at level 8 now, so Resilient runes come into play. Lough already has one and I'm definitely getting one for Kka, the other frontliner. The other item on Kka's wishlist that I'd like to get are some Boots of Bounding. That leaves some 1814gp to spend on other stuff.
I'll start working on leveling up Kka while everyone thinks about how to spend this money.

![]() |

I think it'd be a good idea to see how close folks are to the 8th level benchmark.
And if anyone is distantly behind, they get first wishlist.

Kka Magwi |

I think it'd be a good idea to see how close folks are to the 8th level benchmark.
And if anyone is distantly behind, they get first wishlist.
Definitely.
Each PC should come up with their wishlist purchases and if we can't accomodate everyone, then priority should go to those that are behind on their benchmarks.
For Kka, her permanent equipment looks like this:
2: Wayfinder (28gp)
3: Dusty Rose Prism Aeon Stone (50gp)
3: Ventriloquist's Ring (60gp)
3: Bracelet of Dashing (58gp)
3: Infiltrator Thieves' Toolkit (50gp)
3: Doubling Rings (50gp)
4: Demon Mask (85gp)
4: +1 Striking Shortsword (100gp)
4: +1 Striking Handwraps (100gp)
4: Ghost Touch Rune (75gp)
5: +1 Leather Armor (160gp)
5: Shadow Rune (55gp)
7: Wounding Rune (340gp)
Level 8 Benchmark Lump Sum is 1100gp
Lough's totals come to 1150gp.
Kka's totals come to: 1211gp.
We have about 2500gp in the bank account to buy stuff.
Kka's wishlist for this loot haul:
3: Low-Grade Alloy Orb (10gp consumable)
7: Boots of Bounding (340gp)
8: Resilient Rune (340gp)

Kka Magwi |

For Kka's leveling up to 8th, we have the following:
Skill Increase: Intimidation (Master)
Class Feat: Opportune Backstab
Skill Feat: Battle Cry
Free Archetype (Dual-Weapon Warrior): Flensing Strike
Updated my profile. Just waiting to see what Kka gets from her wishlist before I can finish up.

Kka Magwi |

Kka is going to be a damage beast!
Heh, heh, heh. That's the plan. Not sure we're going to come up against a lot of things that can bleed, but those that can, will.

Kka Magwi |

For the chronicle, I'll apply it to my summoner again.
Player Name: Palandri
Organized Play ID: 2380483
PC Name: Mandoo
PC#: 2001
Current XP: 68
Faction: Horizon Hunters

Cherry Berry |

Cherry's Loot includes:
6: Guardian Staff (250 GP)
5: Armor Potency +1 (160 GP)
5: Holy Prayer Beads (160 GP)
5: Wand of Heal (Level 2) (160 GP)
4: Hunter's Broach (80 GP)
3: Wand of Heal (Level 1) (60 GP)
2: Wayfinder (28 GP)
1: Aeon Stone (Dull Gray)(Continual Flame) (15 GP)
So Cherry has a Gold Total of: 913 GP
Sort-of-Wishlist: None of this is a really high priority
8: Resilient Rune (340 GP)
4: Faith Tattoo (80 GP)
3: Familiar Tattoo (60 GP)
2: Flask of Fellowship (25 GP) feels like a very Cherry item
3: Glasses of Sociability (60 GP)
or
6: Diplomat's Badge (125 GP)
or
6: Druid's Crown (Diplomacy) (220 GP)
-----------
Level 8 Increases:
Class Feat: Advanced Domain (Family). This grants Cherry the Unity focus spell, which is a reaction that lets you use Cherry's saving throw modifier instead of your own.
Switch 'Master' Familiar bonus to Spell Font, giving Cherry an additional Rank 1 Cleric spell.
Rank 1 Cleric Spell: Sanctuary
Rank 4 Cleric Spell: Divine Wrath
Rank 4 Cleric Spell: Pernicious Poltergeist
There is a bit of Retraining with Cherry's Druid Feats:
Level 4: Basic Wilding (Reach) becomes Basic Wilding (Leshy Familiar)
Level 6: Advanced Wilding (Leshy Familiar) becomes Basic Druid Spellcasting
Level 8: ???
New Druid Spells:
Rank 1: Protector Tree
Rank 2: Sound body
Rank 3: Coral Scourge
----------------------------
I am having a little trouble with the two remaining level 8 decisions.
Free Archetype 8: No idea here. I could get Enhanced Familiar. The first would certainly let me get Spell Delivery and maybe and extra cantrip or Ambassador for Sinkwa.
Skill Feat 8: Evangelize
or Shameless Request
I think both of these fit Cherry, especially when they asks a mindless undead if they just want to be released from their torment.

Cherry Berry |

Also Kka, I would add Eye Slash to your wishlist.
Even the level 1 version adds some interesting features to darkvision, while the level 4 is a 'cheap' bonus to perception.

I think getting everyone to the 1,100 range should be round one of loot.
Then “party need” after that, because, if one character’s survivability (or what have you) improves, the whole party benefits.
So Cherry, I would say that level 8 item, or both level 6 items, or a bunch of the lower level ones to start, aiming to spend between 300 and 400 to get you up to speed.
What do others think?
=)

Sounds fine to me.
We start with 2494.12gp to spend.
A Resilient Rune for Cherry brings her up to 1253gp, which is about where Lough (1150gp) and Kka (1211gp) are currently, leaving 2154.12gp in the bank.
Looking at Kvit's profile, I see:
3: Pendant of the Occult (60gp)
5: +1 Magic Armor (160gp)
5: 3rd-rank Scrolls x 2 (60gp)
6: Staff of Evocation/Elemental Power (230gp)
6: Bloodletting Kukri (240gp)
7: Ring of Wizardry - Type I (360gp)
For a total of: 1110gp, so also in the same ballpark. Unfortunately, Kvit's wishlist as per the loot sheet is somewhat spare; there's Reading Glyphs (90gp) and Copying Spells!!! (99gp) and that's it.
Since we're at Level 8, maybe we should all be upgrading to Resilient runes. If we add Resilient runes for Cherry, Kvit and Kka, that will leave 1474.12gp in the bank, with Lough at 1150gp, Cherry at 1253gp, Kvit at 1450gp, and Kka at 1551gp.
With everyone having Resilient runes now, if we add everything together and divide by 4, we should end up with an average of about 1720gp of stuff each, which split "evenly" would mean an additional 570gp for Lough, 465gp for Cherry, 270gp for Kvit, and 170gp for Kka.
At this point, I guess we need people to select what they want off their wishlists that fits in with these general spending guidelines.

![]() |

Ok.
Lough would like to purchase a Striking Rune and Returning Rune for a Chakram, just to have a backup ranged option past 30 feet. As a Knife, also synergizes with his Gleaming Blade ikon.
That’s 135 bucks right there, plus I’d like to add a couple new Cantips, a couple bucks each.
So I can happily spend 150 or less, and donate the rest to the kitty.

I've added Lough's two runes and Cantrips to the purchase list. I also took the +1 Chakram off the sell list and gave it to Lough for his new runes.
Do Cherry and Kvit wish to make any more purchases?
How about we throw in the Faith Tattoo, Familiar Tattoo, and Flask of Fellowship for Cherry. While we're at it, why don't we also throw in a Low-Grade Alloy Orb and Boots of Bounding from Kka's wishlist and the Reading Glyph's from Kvit's wishlist.
We now have the following:

I looked over the Eye Slash tattoo that Cherry mentioned and at 100gp, it is indeed the cheapest way to get a +1 to visual Perception checks. I've added it to Kka's wishlist, but I'm in no hurry to get it.
Are we good to go? Is there anything more that you want to get, Kvit?

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Sorry for delays in answering. Things have been a little hectic here now with three littles. (4.9yr, 2.5yr, and now 0). I've been piecing this together over the last few days.
@Cherry
I like most of GM kwiten's suggestions above for spells. Air walk won't necessarily overlap or conflict with Kvit's levitate since I have that in his split slot currently as a just-in-case. And if airwalk is better then maybe Kvit will pick something else.
I'd add Unfettered Movement as a 4th level option, or perhaps just a scroll of it might be sufficient.
I second the heightened spells. I believe Cherry uses Spirit link often enough that it might make sense to heighten that to H+3 for 8hit points transferred per round.
For your FA Feat, I think enhanced familiar would be great, spell delivery itself would be super useful I think.

Are there contracts or something we can make a deal on? I'm not sure what I'd be looking for, but of the characters, Kvit might be most inclined.

One loot-selling question below
loot/wishlist
I'm good with boosting Cherry first, they seem the most behind loot-wise.
Selling stuff
The only thing on the list I'm really interested in is the bands of Force since they have the built-in resilient rune. But it's not critical right now if we need the money. And if Cherry wants it, that's cool too. If Kvit does get the armbands, he can sell his current explorer's clothing for 80gp. Unless I'm missing something, I don't see much reason to get traditional runes?
I realized I'm not actually trained with the Kukri since it is a martial weapon. Which means I can't use it with hand of the apprentice, so we can sell that also.
Kvit's current permanent items:
1: Alchemist Tools (3) Did we already sell these when Kvit retrained from Alchemist FA to Eldritch Researcher? If not, definitely sell
3: Pendant of the Occult (60)
5: Necklace of Fireballs (44, consumable, 2x 4d6 beads left) @GM Kwinten Can we sell this, at say 30%, to account for one bead being used? It's rapidly lost its effectiveness due to fixed DC and using AoEs down in this cramped dungeon has been extremely far and few between.
5: +1 Explorer's Robes (160)
6: Staff of Elemental Power (230)
6: Bloodletting Kukri (240, uncommon)
7: Ring of Wizardry (Type 1) (360, uncommon)
Assuming we sell/sold the alchemy tools, the fireball necklace, and the bloodletting kukri. That puts Kvit at ~810gp (And puts 134.7gp back into party funds).
Level up part 2
Almost forgot to learn two new spells!
Wishlist
My wishlist has changed significantly from the beginning as I've dropped the illusion-focus and the alchemy dedication.
Permanent items
4: Reading Glyphs (90)
4: Striking dagger (65) or Striking cold-iron/silver (109) I technically don't need the potency rune
5: Rank 3 Wand of Pocket Library (160) Could at least do with a Rank 1 wand for 60
7: Enigma Mirror (Greater) (325)
10: Upgrade to Greater Staff of Elemental Power (1000-230=670)
10: Shadow Signet (1,000)
10: Accolade Robe (1,000)
I realize 3/6 items are level 10 and not accessible currently. I'm looking for some other options too as I have time. But minimum of the wand of pocket library would be really great. It will have great synergy with Kvit's new Knowledge is Power class feat.
Consumables
3-7: Scrolls, see below. I would like to start collecting a few more situational scrolls, open to thoughts and suggestions on what. Or at least an agreement on a budget
1: Rank 1 scroll - Pest Form (4)
1: Rank 1 scroll of Ant Haul or Carryall (4)
3: Rank 2 scroll - Clad In metal (12) Would need a rank 7(?) To get adamantine
3: Moderate Cognitive Mutagen (12) Wand of pocket library would make this largely redundant, but lasts for longer than a single RK check and applies to more checks than just RK.
3: Rank 2 Scroll - Cleanse Air (12) Fully expecting some kind of gross poison-filled room or trap (again).
3: Rank 2 Scroll - Water Breathing (12)
5: Rank 3 Scroll - Clairaudience (30) Might be useful for scouting ahead
5: Rank 3 Scroll - Curse of Lost Time (30) Mainly if we run into a construct, or some diabolical magic item, this could be useful in greatly debuffing it or disabling it.
5: Rank 3 Scroll - Haste (30 + 16 to learn it permanently, could sell the scroll back for 15)
5: Rank 3 Mind of Menace (30 + 16 to learn it permanently, could sell the scroll back for 15)
7: Rank 4 Scroll - Environmental Endurance (70) We already almost ran into lava-time. Might be other less hospitable areas down lower.
7: Rank 4 Scroll - Sliding Blocks (70) Actually learned this one as part of leveling up, but it will be super situational and would rather have a scroll of it instead of using my highest level spell slot.
7: Rank 4 Scroll - Planar Tether (70) Last thing I want is for Becorra or whatever devil to teleport away at the last minute.
There's probably something else or something I'm forgetting, but I figured a partial answer is better than none since it's been a few days. Everyone is happy and healthy and doing well.

GM Kwinten |

PFS numbers are registered! I'll do chronicles this weekend. Just to check: 68 XP is level 6 with two chronicles, right? So one time level 6 gp, two times level 7. And for Kvit, 18 XP is level 2 with two chronicles (one time level 2 gp, two times level 3).
Lough: Sounds like you have several passives you can cycle through. Could you note somewhere what your default is, so I know what is active when combat starts? Especially since your class is new and unfamiliar to me, that's good to know.
Kka: For Battle Cry, how do you want to resolve that? If combat suddenly breaks out before you've been able to designate a target, do you want me to designate the most likely target? That prevents stuff like retroactively hitting/missing from happening.
Kka: With Opportune Backstab, you now have two potential reactions in a turn. How do you want to resolve that? Like the others, "first one that comes up, triggers"?
Kvit: Selling the Necklace at 30% sounds fine. There's probably a calculation to be made, but I don't want to bother.
Kvit: Zephyr Slip, like Kka's reactions, require input. Please specifcy when you want to use it, and a likely direction you'd like to go.
Kvit: Contracts? Like, more deals you can make? Well, coincidentally, this book just so happens to have some infernal contracts. :) You can play this out in the Gameplay thread, but Urevian can offer you three different contracts. I'll list the rules for them first:
- A contract is always active, and counts for your maximum of 10 invested slots. So if you take a contract, you effectively have 9 more investment slots.
- A contract has three separate provisions: an ongoing benefit, a payment you must make, and a method to void this contract.
- There is also a secret fourth effect. The character isn't aware of this effect, but I want you to know that there is a hidden drawback to the contract that benefits the devil.
- A contract is signed in duplicate. You can also end a contract by destroying both copies. The devil's copy is sent to Dis and is practically off-limits to you (unless we start a separate campaign to get the party to Dis).
Quick overview of the contracts available:
- Devil's Luck: Once per day, you can roll a saving throw twice and take the best result. Payment is serving the imp for 100 years after your mortal life ends.
- Pact of Blood-Taking: Your successful strikes with slashing and piercing melee weapons deal 1 persistent bleed damage. On a critical success, this persistent bleed damage is equal to half your level. Payment is only half the number of hit points gained from resting and any application of the Medicine skill (magical healing is fine, though).
I'm fine with changing this to spell damage as well, to make it fit your character more.
- Right of Retribution: When a creature deals damage to you, you can call out for retribution as a reaction. Until the end of your next turn, you gain a +1 status bonus to attack rolls against that creature. Payment is that it's your duty to kill a creature you've injured. If a creature survives for 24 hours after you deal damage to it, you are Doomed 1.

Cherry Berry |

Cherry would like to get the Druid's Crown. It gives me a debuffing spell per day and boosts Cherry's Diplomacy.
Also, let's pull back the Faith Tattoo, and the Friendship Flask as I do have the Holy Prayer Beads which also act as a holy symbol and the Flask doubles up with the Druid Crown.
As for the cert (Which is kind of a hard choice for me)
