Here's the thing. The class skills for bard on d20pfrsd.com do not include the Disable Device skill. Yet as an archaeologist bard I get a bonus on Disable Device checks at 2nd-level. So I'm guessing Disable Device was missing in bard class skills as a typo. So I added it when I got to 2nd-level. So now Arcanus has a rudimentary ability to unlock lock door. :)

OK, if we've cleared the first level (assuming we open the door into A14 and look around...), we have completed our first quest reward ("2. Reaching The Spire Dungeon: (find the way down) 500Exp.") Also, the sage might pay us for a map of the keep ("5. Sage's Expedition: (return maps of the various dungeon levels to Abernard Royst. He will reward you with gold according to the level"). I do think we need some supplies if we want to go further. Given the darkness effect we've encountered, I think we need to get more and better lights, because while Edeldhur and I have low light vision, I think all the rest of you are on human normal... none of us have darkvision.

Casting light didn't work ok? I assumed we'd rest here and go to the next level in the morning.

If were not, would we be allowed to travel back to town without being fatigued? It's already 4:00 in the afternoon or would we need to rest then go to town in the morning?

I can make a loot list maybe tomorrow. I don't think there's any reason to go back to town until we have enough to buy at least a fully charged wand of CLW.

whether now or later, when we are sleeping 'in the open' we'll need some kind of 'watch' set up. Would you all prefer a watch with one person for five two-hour watches for ten hours or calculate some kind of overlap with two people each four hours for a twelve hours?

We don't have enough bodies to do paired watches(5 of us: Edeldhur, Ratel, Nycholas, Arcanus and Arthdane).

n=5 people
5*10 = 50 Total hours
2*10 = 20 # of watch hrs required
5*8 = 40 # of rest hrs required
60 > 50

12 hr rest period
n=5 people
5*12 = 60 Total hours
2*12 = 24 # of watch hrs required

I think the ring should go to whoever goes first in case of pit traps. Nycholas can go first, but his Perception is garbage.

I figure Ratel will go first most of the time and he claimed the bow. So whoever wants it. I think we should keep it rather than sell it, but that's just a preference in style.

WRT to the marching order thing, Nycholas has a perception of +1. Traps could be a problem with him leading off... I could take Tail End Charlie, I'm OK in a fight by myself and my speed can get me to the front quickly (where I can use my longspear) if there's a fight.

True, but since he has the heavier armor, I thought I'd ask. Ratel's perception is + 6 and he's durable. I built him to take point or close to the front. Hadn't heard from Nycholas for a bit, thought I'd start the conversation with the offer.

Same here - these are strange times... Hope all is well with him.


while I had several games going on the boards....then I had the year of hell. This is no joke of exaggeration.

I got Covid in Dec of 21 took offline for about a month. Ended up in the hospital. then gradually recovered. ...My mother passed away in March. My Father passed away in June and lost my job because (not in that order). I had a car accident in August, totalling my car and going down to a one car family...also landing me in the hospital....again.

finally I got sick again in December of 22. and out of work for 3 weeks.

It seems that everytime Id start to recover from the body blows of the year...another would hit.

So I apologize for my inability to keep things posted or let others know what was going on. Lets just say my mind wasnt on the game.

So Apologies, Not sure if I will be dming or playing anytime soon, more just checking in
