Just remember, running a game is easy when all the PC's are dead...

I'm glad we have an archeologist bard. I briefly considered submitting one that used his tools as improvised weapons in combat but I couldn't get it to come together very well, so I'm happy I'll still be able to see one in play. Overall the part composition is awesome. Cleric of Cayden Cailean, dwarf pally, GRIPPLI ALCHEMIST!
@GMMichael: Wizards get a spellbook and bonded item at level one. Narativly speaking I think it would be kinda weird if Nycholas' spellbook and bonded item just appeared in his pack as he strikes down an evil skeleton. I was thinking when we near level two we could find the spellbook and bonded item amongst the loot. What do you think?

Arcanus bows his head in humble acknowledgement and appreciation.
And why be a cleric in Pathfinder if you're no going to be the best kind of cleric to Cayden Cailean.

Ratel Dier wrote:I like the idea of Ratel rescuing Rooip from a giant spiders web. But it could be anything really. Thoughts?
Rooip, so how did Ratel meet you?
I'm totally cool with that. Since Rooip is a little over a year old, a couple of months ago Ratel found the giant web with him stuck in it. Had he killed the spider already or did they do that together?
Has Ratel met the tribe or just interacted with Rooip on his own?
You good with Ratel originally introducing Rooip to MacDugal when he heard that the pathfinder was looking for an eclectic group to head into the spire?
Sort of an "I know a guy" moment.
Alright will go read posts in game :)

Ratel Dier |

as the conversation about money continues it reminded me, when we split the money can we have a cut go to group supplies like clw wands and materials for scribing scrolls so that money doesn't come directly out of our casters pockets?
So seven players, we cut it eight ways, one cut to cover group cost items?

Ratel Dier |

Most of the games I've been playing in have been APs that advance at a certain place in the game, so I sort of forgot about XP's. It sounds like the more we talk to the people in town the more 'Quests' are available I had asked in game but didn't receive an answer, I figure it's worth asking again:
GMMichael wrote:Since Ratel took 'lore (Echo Woods) can he apply that or is he SOL (Simply out of luck)?Ratel Dier wrote:Also, on the Campaign info page under "Fort Inevitable" you had listed with the Stonde Homestead that "Davon has been heard talking to other kids about the “goblin fort” he found in the forest." is that public knowledge or would you like a knowledge check local?knowledge local dc12 for anything on that page
Arcanus is the only character that has 'local' knowledge and I was hoping Lore 'Echo Woods' could help cover local information. If it doesn't is there some kind of lore that would that I could replace it with? Or possibly take local knowledge as a background skill since Ratel is from the area?

GMMichael |

I am also good with your loot splitting suggestion Ratel.
Sorry I didn't answer your question before Ratel. No Echo Wood doesn't cover Fort Inevitable. It will apply in Thorn Keep. You can use it for bandit groups, monsters that live in the woods, and even emerald Spire to a degree.
But not Fort Inevitable...
But in this case, the Goblin Fort is in the echo wood so it will apply, but not for all on the list.

Cool, thanks for the clarification. So second level he may take 'lore' Fort Inevitable :)

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

so for those looking at possible loop holes
allow me to point them out.
ok This Letter of Warrant entitles the parties annotated upon it to perform duties as lawful representatives of the court seeking to stop crimes against the persons and citizens of Fort Inevitable. They can seek to detain, bring in, kill if necessary any threats to the peace and well being of the citizenry without fear of repercussions for their actions This jurisdiction is allowed within 20 miles of Fort Inevitable. If the actions fall within the jurisdiction of another lawful entity, then the closer will hold precedence. This allows for information gathering 1 time a week at the Chancery or The Hall of Rectitude for records. The Parties upon the Warrant are expected to report all occurrences to the Sergeant of the Watch at the gate they enter in immediately upon arrival back in Fort Inevitable. All treasure gained from clashes with sentients must be reported and agreed on values notated at the gate. Within 1 day 30% of the total must be taken to The Hall of Rectitude for accounting. Treasure is considered anything of value brought into Fort Inevitable. The Sergeant of the Watch at the gate is authorized to come to agreement with the parties involved as to the value of any item present.

Arthdane Sarkanaroka |

Also, depending on how slick you are: "The Sergeant of the Watch at the gate is authorized to come to agreement with the parties involved as to the value of any item present", conning the Sergeant of the Watch might be practical.
What I don't really understand is this sentence "This allows for information gathering 1 time a week at the Chancery or The Hall of Rectitude for records. " Do we have to make a report every week? Is this saying there is a once a week meeting where you can report incidents? Or is it something else entirely?

GMMichael |

no. They have records of every 'authorized expedition' to the spire....and have information about people creatures etc...
the chancery is a library. the hall of rectitude has official hell knight info.
so 1x week you can go use their facilities to gather information. the key...know what youre looking for.

Arthdane Sarkanaroka |

From the game thread
The man glanced at Edeldhur and nods that of course is a very good question. First is the order does take items as payment. They don't have to be converted to cash. If the value exceeds your 30% you will be given either cash, if available, back....or a credit towards valued items the Order might have available...orfsiling that a credit off your next 30%
I always had hellknights figured for "F*** you, pay me"... Them not hosing you and giving you the excess value back... Sheesh, people might get the impression that they're not hellspawn after all...

Ratel Dier |

With all his stuff + armor, Nycholas is at 100% carry weight for light load, and he's already slowed by heavy armor, so someone else will have to carry stuff in situations where we're expecting combat or he'll never be able to make it to the battle line.
Nycholas, I'm not sure I understand, if he's in heavy armor doesn't he suffer all the penalties whether he's carrying a light load or heavy load?

GMMichael |

I wasn't waiting for 'everone to sign' just allowing the role playing to continue until it had run it's course.
I can move things along as fast or as slow as you wish.
Do you want to roll play purchasing? Is there any research you wish to do? Do you wish me to handwaved those things to get to the next day?
I'll run with the majority wish

Ratel Dier |

Ratel isn't purchasing anything, though eventually he would like to check out the rumor of a goblin fort. So whatever everyone else wants to do is fine.

![]() |

I'm for majority rule. Arcanus is a book-wormy young Indiana Jones-type. He's happy going over new ruins as hanging out in the bar.

Ratel Dier |

I was getting a little nervous, I know Plastic Dragon was busy enough at work earlier this year to need to cancel games he was running. I saw he was posting again for games and was hoping his schedule had cleared a little. So I was hoping he would respond to Ratel's post.

Arthdane Sarkanaroka |

Materials for a single scroll = 12.5 gp (assuming 1st level spell at CL 1), so even with the party fund, we can buy the materials for a single scroll apiece and have left overs.
If Ratel is offering up his share 18.75 gp, I will take advantage of that and add it to mine, and get 3 scrolls worth of scribing materials (37.5 gp)...

Arthdane Sarkanaroka |

From the game thread
Arthdane Sarkanaroka wrote:"I will join you Edelhur; after all, the sooner my scroll is scribed (RAW, you can only scribe 1 scroll per session.), the faster I can get back to proper Caydenite libations!"Can you do one before dinner and one after?
If GMMichael is holding tight to raw, no. You can do 1 session per day (either 8 hrs or 2 hrs), and at most 1 scroll (or other magic item) per session. If he'll let us do multiple 2 hr sessions, then, depending what time it is in the afternoon, it might be practical to do 2 sessions (1 before and 1 after dinner), but I will let him speak to that...

Edeldhur |

Yeah, at least two should be good.
On a side note everyone,
Just dropping a line to let you all know I will be on vacations for the next three weeks, starting tomorrow - nothing but sun and drinks! :D
I should have internet access and will try to keep up since this game is now gaining traction and I do not want to ruin the momentum. But cannot guarantee there will time for posting. So please feel free to bot me if I am dragging my feet.
Thanks!

Nycholas Hyll |

I think we can assume Edeldhur is ready to head out since the player is on vacation, so that's three votes to go.

Arthdane Sarkanaroka |

Proposed Order of March (and why)
Nycholas (brute) Ratel Dier (brute)
Arthdane (reach weapon) Edelhur (squishy wizard)
Rooip (Bomb launcher who wants range) Arcanus (Whip?)
?Baerlon?( Rearguard, if he is here)

Nycholas Hyll |

Rooip should ride Ratel into battle.

![]() |

Arcanus approves of his place in the march.

Ratel Dier |

Rooip should ride Ratel into battle.
Only if Rooip wants to get really close to the enemy...
Good with being in the front, inside or outside.

Ratel Dier |

We have not heard from Rooip since June 24, I checked his player, Smiles-a-lot. he's in four other games. One he posted last in on Jun 3, the second, June 24, the third June 24 and lastly a solo game on May 25, The player only has 299 posts including aliases. Trying not to draw too many conclusions, but wanted to see how they were doing.
I know TheWaskally is around, he was posting in a recruitment yesterday and as Nycholas pointed out, Edeldhur is on vacation.

![]() |

Arcanus (TheWaskally) is still here. New job kicking my butt. 12 hours days are the norm after not working for nearly a year. Be patient with Arcanus. He hasn't even cracked his whip yet.
