Home for a "quick stop" tonight. Going back to get the daughter's car tomorrow, so, another 7 hours on the road for the round trip. <shrug>
Life should be almost normal for work on Monday, and after.

Btw, if anyone ever gets bothered by Ajax's macho man personality then just tell me and i'll turn it down.
Low level thug life :) One crit and anyone is down!
@Drektan Thanks for the update. Best of luck to you and your family!

Sorry it took so long to get to the first actual encounter. You should be seeing them a lot more often now that we are actually in the game. Something you will want to consider, after this, you will be dealing with exploring the Greenbelt. My thought process for this would be for me to track your movements on a hex grid on my computer. You would give me a direction based on that grid 1-6, with 1 being north and proceeding clockwise around your hex. Each time you move, I’ll annotate which sure you are in, in relation too the trading post. (3Sx2E, 1Sx1SW for example) since it’sa hex map, remember E and W would be corner to corner movements and not a flat side to flat side, (if you are tracking as well). The other alternative, and one I recommend, is one of you becomes the cartographer, and if you have access to a means of displaying a map (I can provide a PDF), then you can track for the group, and you can make your own little notes on it off things you discover.

See, this what timezones and different lives get us. The post with them arriving is roughly 12 hours old, but the arriving NPCs have gone through several sets of actions in less than 7 hours and before I came online to post about tipping the lantern into the oil as planned and discussed. If posting at the end of my day isn't an aggressive enough schedule to keep up, then I should bow out now, before living my life continues to penalize the other players.
Let me be clear, I don't consider that posting pace a bad pace, but it is one I can not meet.
Edit: Their internal conversation as they came up was enough for Drek to believe the representation of them as bandits.

No, you’re good. The bandits entered, but the first three stopped at the oil in the entrance of the gate, Happs is still outside the gate. Everyone stated their actions would commence once inside. Since they saw the trap, and were challenged, they reacted. It’s still the first round and you have the suprise if you’d like. What you need to consider, do you want to ignite the oil now and trap Happs outside to get reinforcements, or try and coax him inside.

Drektan |

Not really. If I was the guy outside, seeing the trap, with a ranged weapon, there's not really a good way to get me to enter.
It takes a special kind of person to knowingly walk into a trap. Bandits are normally not that kind of person.

I’m going to help you guys out a bit here as things are going really slow, and I apologize for that. The bandits won’t tell you anything more than what you already know, save that for Happs, who will tell you that he is the second in command under Kressle, a fierce woman who leads the camp. If asked about his necklace, Kressle gave it to him to identify him as a lieutenant in the camp, nothing more. He also refuses to tell you where the camp is. The next step will be to start exploring the Greenbelt as your charter says, and this will be your best option for figuring out where the bandit’s camp is.
No hexes have been explored, not even the one you are currently in. You as players need to decide from this point how best to continue.

Katarina has no problems with Cator taking the longbow. She can't use it. Everyone should take the rations. We won't be able to hunt for food everyday.
You're right about the rations. That's quite greedy. Something Vesnia would likely point out to her numbskull husband.

Hi guys! Posting it on all my pbps.
Our offshore team at work is very affected by the pandemic at the moment and with the fiscal year approaching to an end, our reduced capacity is terribly affecting my time. For the next several weeks it will likely impact me in such way that I simply won't be able to keep up with the forums, things normalizing only as we start approaching mid June.
For the games where I play, GMs please feel free to bot the characters. If you don't desire to bot me for so long, I completely understand, apologize for the late notice and wish you all the best of fun. If you hold me around, though, I should be back after this storm.
For the games where I host, my sincerest apologies to the players - I won't let you hanging so if you stick around until my return we will give it continuation as normal. Otherwise, please message me and once I'm back I'll recruit replacements.
To everybody, I'm sorry for the late notice and I hope we will continue playing together once I'm back!
Cheers,
Archlich

you posted faster than I could fix my mistake, it’s a DC of 15 not 25.
Greatness cannot be stopped, plus I have no life thanks to COVID.

Atlas Jaxx |

Ha! Same for a lot of people bud.
Good news everyone, due to the complexity of the bandit camp, I’m going to attempt this map thing. I already copied your tokens from your profile page, I will get the map up once we get there.
Thanks!
Oh, and @Layla, take your time! Real life comes first.

Hey guys, I haven't left and I know real life takes it's toll, that's why I haven't posted, waiting to find out what everyone wants to do now that you see 2 sleeping bandits in their camp. Remember, there is at least one more, you know he is in the trees somewhere along the river bed, but that's all you were able to determine. Let me know what your characters are doing please.
If you're not really feeling this game, I apologize and will understand if you want to back out, but please say so, in order that I am not waiting for your character to post.

Drektan |

Honestly? I was hoping to keep you from thinking about me until they start something, because I don't want to have to roll another Stealth check. <evil grin>
I'll add something after the grandkids go to bed.
