My understanding is that the Empire is aware of Order 66. Palapatine used to play altered video of the encounter with Windu and the members of the Council when they tried to arrest him. IIRC it also showed Anakin as a hero who was list in fighting the jedi.

But i think only the emperor and a few others actually knew about it and or found out about it.
I dont think the actual order number was in the altered holos.

I'm thinking we should definitely take some time to have the ship we're using outfitted with better shields and weapons. Sebbik definitely doesn't have the skills needed, but figuring we could go somewhere and have the work done?

The GM hinted that Bespin has facilities for overhauling ships (as seen in Empire Strikes Back, eh?), so we can get some work done there. Ship mods tend to be very expensive though, so first someone needs to remind me what kind of ship we are on, then I need to go read the Starships of the Galaxy book and make sure we can afford it. :)

I guess I will be tossing 500 in, and figuring my list out out again.
Once I have a total I can see, we can figure out what the party can get.
Also, as mentioned in gameplay, we are in a Bandu class star yauht?? if that helps in the planning of what we can put on it.

That does. I actually like the Baudo-class as a starship goal when I am playing a dissolute noble. :) Wood paneling, stocked bar, entertainment room with space pool and holo-dancer selection...
A Baudo-class star yacht has two emplacement points and comes stock with one light laser cannon (for lightly dissuading pirates, I suppose). At Colossal size, it has a 5x modifier on costs for upgrades.
Since the Baudo-class does not come with shields, adding them is a nonstandard modification. This means the best we can install is SR 25 shields, which cost 37,500 cr and take up both emplacement points (1 for the shield generator, 1 because it's a nonstandard modification).
I don't have 37,500 cr right now, but for 25,000 (which would almost clean me out at this level) we can get SR 15 shields.
Alternatively, for 20k cr, we can replace the light laser cannon with a medium laser cannon. They require the same number of emplacement points, so the only real hurdle is the price. Does slightly more damage, gives the yacht a little "teeth," but it's still not going up against a star destroyer!
Installation of the shield generator would take 50 days of work and a DC 21 mechanics check. (The work time can be reduced by adding more workers, up to a team of 5 bringing it down to 10 days, but of course we have to pay them.) Installation of the guns would be 25 days. (Again, reducible with a larger work team, to a minimum of 5 days.)

As far as "party funds," just consider Ardan the party fund. I have a class talent that gives me more money every time I gain a level—a lot more than we were paid for the mission. I will gladly bankroll incidental expenses and gear. It's one of my class powers! :)

Ardan was asking about whether anyone was especially talented at mechanics as an in-world way of asking if anyone has the Tech Specialist feat, or Skill Focus: Mechanics to do the work of starship modifications.

Yes I have Skill Focus: Mechanics, but not Tech Specialist. That's actually a good idea for me, but not this level.

Starship modifications are really one of those downtime things—I doubt Kol wants to spend a week doing blackthumb work while the rest of us are on the adventure. So we should keep an eye out for a natural break point where we might get the time to do 'em.
Also of note, if we wait 'til I gain one more level, I will have a lot more money to play with and we could easily get a much better shield generator, or replace the light laser cannon with a medium double laser cannon.

All right, and if I leave my 500 in, plus if everyone else floats about 500 with the 6 of us, that will put us at 2700 Cr with what was in the fund before. I will fish around and see if I can get us some stuff using that as a ballpark.

Waylon was not going to go shopping unless we all want grappling guns or something like that. So I am fine with putting all 1500 in to help out the ship. Waylon is more concerned about the ship exploding around him then needing to climb quickly for good or bad.

Ooo, I made a mistake! The Baudo-class comes with SR 15 shields. That means that putting on other shields is not a nonstandard modification unless you go over like... SR 20. We could upgrade from SR 15 to SR 20 for a mere 6,250 cr, a paltry sum. It's still not very strong shielding but it's an upgrade!

Well, I was looking at grabbing shipsuits and breath masks for everyone.
That way if there was any decompression of the ship, we will have at least an hour that we can survive for breathing. Plus the canisters are easy to change. :)
But Waylon, hang onto 1k no telling if you will even need to save to replace your sabre.

I am going to admit that I know little about space combat in this. But if we already have shields maybe we should upgrade our cannon for now and worry more about shields later.
Can we sell the smaller cannon to offset the cost of the upgrade?

That's a question for the GM. A light laser cannon for a ship of our size has a normal price of 7,500 cr. Probably we could sell it on Bespin? We wouldn't get full price, of course.
Adding in a medium laser would cost 20k cr, not including labor.

We should definitely try and sell it to defray the cost of our upgrade. Even if we do not get a lot for it, it would still help with the costs.
