Hello, welcome to my first PF2 recruitment! I'll be running the module "Hollow's Last Hope" fully converted, followed by "Crown of the Kobold King"

I have played some PFS2e and am a player in an Age of Ashes campaign but have yet to GM a game in this edition, so this will in many ways be a learning experience for me and I thank you in advance for your patience.

MY EXPECTATIONS
1) Posting rate of 1/day (including myself). I don't always manage to post every single day, and if there's a prompt or player(s) we're waiting for I will usually say so in Discussion, but I generally prefer to keep up a strong pace because otherwise PBP games tend to bog down and players' attention starts to wander, in my experience.

2) Build rules. This is pretty straightforward, since there's much less PF2 material relative to PF1. All races and all standard class options/feats/items etc are available. If you want Uncommon spells or feats you'll need to clear it with me first.

3) Give me knives. A good mechanical build is one thing (though I'm less practiced at assessing one in PF2) but especially in PBP what appeals to me most is a good character. Hopes, flaws, hooks, all of that is good. To help get those creative juices flowing I like to use a short questionnaire that helps turn your character into a person; use it to lovingly craft knives and give them to me to stab you with :)

Character Creation Questionnaire:

Please list two goals your character has. Try to avoid self-evident things like “I wish to become more powerful” and focus instead on tasks or deeds you wish to accomplish. “I wish to become more powerful…in order to find and defeat the night hag who cursed my beloved and break the spell” is much better.
You character has three secrets.
1. A secret the character keeps from others,
2. A secret that has been kept from your character, and
3. A secret determined by the GM!

Please list 3-5 important people in your character’s life, no more than one of whom should be an enemy. This can be friends, family, mentors, or anyone else who has had a strong impact on your character’s life. Again, this should be more than just a “kill list” of enemies you want to fight :)

4) I will choose a total of 4 characters for the party, and submissions will be accepted until midnight on Wednesday 11/18. Then I'll need a few days to review and my decisions will be announced on Sunday 11/22 so we can start gaming the following Monday.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Color me interested. Dotting.

Not sure of a character build just yet. I'll think on it.

If it helps, I've got a fair bit of experience with PF2, at this point, so more than willing to fill in the blanks as needed.

This page helps a lot.

Liberty's Edge

As a complete and utter fool, I would like to play a tiefling magus.

Contributor

dotting so I can work on my build

Hmmm... I do have an Elven Wild Druid that I've been wanting to play. :)

Dot

Had this character built for a while. Not much sense in changing him. Here's a peek, if you like.

Kane

Name might have to be modified, though. A bit generic for the forums.

Grattfaulk:

Half-Orc +2 Str and Con
Warrior +2 Str and Con
Fighter +2 Str
Free +2 Str, Dex, Con, Wis
18, 12, 16, 10, 12, 10
Feats
Ancestry – Orc Weapon Familiarity
General/Skill – Intimidating Glare, Shield Block
Class – Sudden Charge
Class Abilities: Attack of Opportunity
Proficiencies:
Skills: Trained - Intimidation, Warfare Lore, Athletics, Survival, Craft, Nature
Expert in Proception
Armor – Trained in All
Weapons – Expert in Simple and Martial, Trained in Advanced.
Saves – Expert in Fort and Ref, Trained in Will
Gear (7.2 sp):
Orc Neck Splitter (2gp), Dagger x2 (4sp), Orc Knuckle Dagger (7sp), Javelin x3 (3sp), Chain Mail (6gp), Backpack (1sp), Torch x3 (3cp), Flint and Steel (5cp), Explorer’s Clothes (1sp), Ordinary Clothes (1sp), Bedroll (1sp), Caltrops (3sp), Rations 2 weeks (8sp), Climbing kit (5sp), Tent, Pup (8sp), Repair kit (2gp)

Goals: Earn enough money adventuring to take care of his parents and siblings, maybe on a nice farm with a large pond for fishing.
Do something worth being immortalized in song or story, like kill a mighty dragon or such. He feels tainted by engaging in slavery and seeks to be remembered as a hero.
Secrets:
1. He worked for a mercenary company that participated in the slave trade, until couldn’t stomach it anymore.
2. He was the product of a one-night stand, his father is some sort of a human noble, the man that raised him was a knight formerly in the noble’s service.
3. Dealer’s choice
People:
1. Mother – Borba, average looking by human standards, loving and devoted mother. Was a wench at tavern before Grattfaulk was born and has worked her way to running it for the owner.
2. Step-father – Wilhelm, compassionate father and former knight who stepped in when he learned his lord was going to leave the orc woman to fend for herself.
3. Filimer (Half-Orc Half-Brother) – Younger sibling by 8 years.
4. Bartholomew – Human rival, as teens they fought (figuratively) over a pretty girl and Bart won.
5. Sighilde – Former love interest initially chose Bart, but rumor has it that they may be done….
6. Rudesind – Sighilde’s father – does not like Grattfaulk or Orcs in general.

Totally forgot to add this for Kane.

Kane:

Goals:
1) Kane left his lands and people to 'go see how the other side lives'. He seeks to learn about life outside the Mwangi Expanse and see what is so 'civilized' about those who shun the wild.

2) On the opposite side of that coin, he plans to do what he can to protect the wildlands from those who would abuse them. More specifically, he intends to use what power and influence he has to deal with poachers and hunters who kill for anything other than survival and need.

Secrets:
1. A secret the character keeps from others:
- He fears modern transportation. Really, more of a severe mistrust. His first trip across the sea left him so sick that he swore it was an intentional side effect of the ship and that the crew had poisoned him. Now, any form of 'vehicle' made by man is suspect.

2. A secret that has been kept from your character:
- While he knows that he is different in appearance from the rest of his tribe, he was always led to believe that he was born of them. In truth, he was an orphan found abandoned in the jungle.

3. A secret determined by the GM!

Important People:
Master Zuri - Head of Kane's druid circle, mentor and father.
Jembra - Mother, from the Tiger clan.
Oromo - Older sister. Also a druid, but of the Leaf order. Also something of a rival with Kane. Level of friendliness to be determined.
Cpt. Malcher Paullio - The captain of the Withered Naiad, the ship that brought Kane to Andoran. Suspected of poisoning him.

Liberty's Edge

I too would like to put a character into the running for this game.

Here is Oceanshieldwolf’s character submission, stats to follow.

Dusk's Tale:

The true mire, morass and malady of modern Ustalav is not in to be found in the physical, forbidding edifices of architecture of the state, nor in the histories of the many centuries of terror that were the Whispering Tyrant's legacy nor yet even the multitude of beasts, creatures and worse entities that roam the darkness, or even the light - no, the true horror of Ustalav dwells in the mind and spirit of its people... They are the Tyrant's enduring legacy, and to the populace, the testament and final purpose of his doom...

Hellador Stoven's Rich Historie of Ustalav, Vol. I

Beneath the facepaint, costumes and buffoonery, and behind the lights of Karcau's festive hub, the Careels of Karcau were, if one were to be entirely truthful, a clan of thugs, thieves of opportunity and rank ne'erdowells. Under the chieftainess of all their villainy, the misnamed Dainty Careel (neither dainty in form or function) these rakes and jades profited however they might, and from whoever they could.

True, sharp training in all manner of circus-inspired japes and physicalities (tightrope walking, juggling, contortion, balancing, knife throwing, fire breathing, sword swallowing etc) made their public calling card acceptable. However, many merchants, shady and otherwise, employed the Careels as bodyguards, standovermen, housebreakers and even, so rumor went, assassins.

Dusk was little different from his kin - he might appreciate a fine drawing a little more than his brothers and sisters - but essentially he did what he was told by his corpulent grandmother - whether it be perform, steal or guard - and most importantly, at all times, to obey.

The one thing that marked Dusk as odd was his fear. Of spirits, undead, the fae and other similar if not nameable terrors that scratched at the back of his mind. As a youth he'd bravely crept into the tomb-yard reserved for the nobs of Karcau - hoping to wrest a motif or carving from a lich-gate to present as a talisman of his skill to Dainty- when he had seen... something in the crepuscular light of mid-evening. Frozen at first in fear, he ran, his fear now a goad to survival. Whatever he'd seen, he cannot now recall. A nimbus in his vision is all he can see, and a smell, of... rotting flowers mixed with something less seemly.

Dainty took to tormenting the boy, in some twisted attempt to expunge the boy's weakness. Cruel practical jokes, missions to dark and foreboding residences - all these and more did nothing to quell Dusk's fear, nor bring him any closer to fellow feeling for his grandmother. And now he is a full grown Careel, a competent acrobat, loyal thug, and apparent and unreconstructed scaredy cat.

Which led to his current predicament. For Dusk is on the run, and what’s more, for murder. It wasn’t his fault. Well, it was, but he didn’t mean to kill the man. Well, he did, but the man deserved it. Well, at least he was a very bad man. Given the man, Dreglid Vann, sometime pimp and oftimes beater and harrasser of jades was in the exact same alley at the exact same time Dusk was playing lookout for his siblings playing second storey-folk; and given it was an unusually dark night, and Dreglid had a shock of white hair that caused Dusk to completely lose his nerve and stab out without a thought - a perfect storm of shock of being surprised, fear of being caught in the proceeds of crime, horror at the sudden apparent appearance of the undead, and, obviously and clearly misplaced responsibility to his clan. For when it came down to it, his craven brother and sisters pinned the crime on him. Dainty gave him a choice - run, or be handed over. Well, he thought that was the choice he had, but later intelligence seemed to clarify the limits of his clan’s loyalty.

So run Dusk did. Out of Ustalav, keeping to the rivers where he could until he found himself in Almas. He cadged passage for work on a lumber boat heading up the River Float. And thus, here he is. Scared. On the run. Bereft of friends and family. And in terrible need of a haircut and a some good meals.

Questionnaire:

You character has three secrets.
1. A secret the character keeps from others: Dusk is terrified of undead, spirits etc. Which is not really a common Ustalavic trait. He is morbidly sensitive to...morbid things, mortality etc...
2. A secret that has been kept from your character: Dusk did not in fact end Dreglid’s life. Dreglid did die, but not by Dusk’s stab.
3. A secret determined by the GM! Dunh dunh dunh! Secret squirrel...

Please list 3-5 important people in your character’s life

Dainty Careel, - corpulent grand madame of Clan Careel. Manipulative, curries favours and holds grudges. Dusk has a pathological loathing for her.
Bedtby Careel - sister. Annoying, competitive, cruel and mostly incessant foil. If he can point to one particular sibling who more than likely “framed” him, it would be Bedtby
Dreglid Vann - corpse. Dreglid constantly preys upon Dusk’s febrile thoughts, intruding at the most unexpected and inconvenient times.
Captain Vöde - shipmaster of the lumber boat Dusk left Almas aboard. Significant merely for the reason that Vöde accepted Dusk almost sight unseen, and without rancour, pity, hatred or distrust. An incredibly refreshing experience for the young rogue.

Vigilant Seal

Here's my (Doctor Mono) submission, Dhaene Blackoath.

I'm not married to the build as a thug rogue, but it's more to facilitate his backstory, so I can rebuild easily if we need something different (Bard, Swashbuckler, Fighter, different type of rogue, etc.)

I've included his backstory in the character info, but I'll drop it here too.

The Black Oath:
The second of five sons of the Tyr Blackhammer, Dhaene should have lived a life of priveledge among the dwarves of Taggoret. His family was wealthy, he had the best teachers of lore, hammer, and blade. And the quick-witted youth was already a skilled enough artisan by his gladdringgar that Dhaene had considered a path on the road of the coin, trading with dwarves and humans outside the city. But Dhaene's eldest brother Ghyn, fell awry of the Thane's eldest son, Anvron, over matters of oath, land, and coin. The inevitable grudges resulted in the death of Anvron Highhearth and a mortal wound to Ghyn. The Blackhammers were able to afford the assistance of the church to save their son, but a war between the Highhearths and Blackhammers would have torn Taggoret asunder. Likewise, dishonor on the Blackhammer house would have ruined Taggoret's economy nearly overnight besides reducing the greatest of Taggoret's noble houses.

A different remedy was needed.

As devout followers of Kols, family honor was of paramount importance to the Blackhammers, and Dhaene in particular. As second son, Dhaene stepped up to claim responsibility for his brother's crime, absorbing the dishonor in exile that would have been burdened on his family. He was given the epithet, Blackoath, and cast out of Taggoret forever.

For the next few decades, Dhaene Blackoath worked with the Bellflower Network to smuggle slaves out of Cheliax and through the Five Kings Mountains to safety, often spending years in the countries that bordered his lost home. Though Taggoret was forever closed to him, Dhaene spent much time fighting for and influencing dwarven clans throughout the Five Kings, even befriending humans and elves in their political infighting.

Questionnaire:
Goal 1: Since being cast out of Taggoret, Dhaene is a dwarf with no home. He does not feel worthy of one, but seeks to earn a place of comfort and welcome.

Goal 2: Dhaene is painfully aware that politicking has arranged for both his exile and the Blackhammer clan's dishonor. But so far from Taggoret, he has no way to prove it.

A secret the character keeps from others: Dhaene had been betrothed to Hara Highhearth before the debacle that caused her brother's death. Though theirs was an arranged marriage, there was real friendship and developing closeness between the pair before he was cast out in exile.
A secret that has been kept from your character: Ghyn had arranged for the fight that cost Highhearth his life. He knew of Dhaene's betrothal and despised the idea that he would never rise to be thane of Taggoret, and that through marriage, Dhaene might. With one fell swoop, he had dispatched both of his rivals, Dhaene and Anvron Highhearth.
A secret determined by the GM: Yess! Use your hate, let it flow...

Important people:

Gyhn Blackhammer: Dhaene's eldest sibling and closest friend in his youth. Dhaene would do anything for his brother, even going so far as to accept dishonor to make sure Ghyn kept his and the Blackhammer clan's position among dwarven noble society in the Five Kings Mountains secure. Ghyn is not a good brother.

Hara Highhearth: Hara was betrothed to Dhaene before his exile. She is obstinate, strong, and arguably the best axe in all of Taggoret. And Dhaene was besotted with her. But since his dishonor, their betrothal is null, and she is poised to rise to become thane with her brother's unfortunate demise.

Penn Halfheart: Penn is an escaped slave of Cheliax, and leader of a small sect of the Bellflower network. The halfling took a young Dhaene under his wing to help focus his talents into building traps and ways of hiding escaped slaves in the mountains. He often hires Dhaene to act as an enforcer or planner for his crews.

Vilim Casovallo: Vilim is a varisian gang leader. For a time, he would hire Dhaene to assist in some scheme or another, but Dhaene had a tendency to balk at the less savory of Vilim's plans. Sometimes, he plies Dhaene with coin. Sometimes, the dwarf is a target. The relationship seems to sour by the day.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Oops. Forgot to mention Dusk is a Human Rogue. And forgot to add his Goals. Will think on that, and provide when crunch is ready.

Dhaene/Dr Mono: Just to be clear, I have absolutely no problem with multiple submissions for the same role/class, so don’t feel you are stepping on any toes! I’m looking toward the scoundrel rogue, though Dusk could also be a Monk (he was originally submitted as a Monk for a Strange Aeons game).

Dusk is now complete.

Dusk’s Goals:
First and foremost, Dusk wishes to leave his criminal past behind him. Becoming an adventurer doesn’t seem best way to do that, but perhaps a little heroism might help him to achieve that. Any task, job, mission or activity will be framed through this lens - toward a legal, if not exactly conventional, life.

Which leads to his second goal.

If Dusk’s criminal past does manage to catch up with him, he wants to be able to stab it in the eye and kill it dead. Essentially, Dusk considers any Ustalav official, and any Careel family member with extreme prejudice. Unfortunately, this can bleed out into a fairly low opinion of militias, inspectors, inquisitors, stewards, reeves, soldiers, bailiffs, bounty hunters, jailers, lawyers etc. As for his family, Dusk hopes he is far away from any family member here in Andoran.

Dotting.

Currently considering some kind of ranged character. Since Losonti is thinking of Magus, does that mean the playtest classes are fair game CW?

Let me re-read the playtest doc and make a final decision on that tonight. Right now I'm leaning towards 'yes' however.

Definitely dotting!

I am currently in AoA (2 actually), EC, AoEW (DMing) and played FoPS. I say that to say that I may have a bit of PF2e knowledge. I am currently playing an Ancient 1/2 Elf Cleric (Medic Dedication/Champion dedication) 10; a Goblin Fighter 2; a Goblin Wizard 6 (I happen to love goblins!); and played a Dwarf Champion.

So; I can fill any "slot". I have yet to try Primal spell list; so may lean in that direction.

Thank you for picking/running these games!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Not a ton of submissions yet, but I'm the kind of person that likes to see everything at a glance. So on that note:

Blaydsong - Kane; Elven Wild Druid
Losonti - Teifling Magus?
Doctor Mono - Dhaene Blackoath; Dwarf Thug Rogue
Elbowtotheface - Grattfulk; Half-orc Fighter
Daniel Stewart - Theodorus Merula; Human Evoker
Oceanshieldwolf - Dusk Careel; Human Scoundrel Rogue
Cellion - ranged character?
Dorian 'Grey' - Primal caster?

Getting back to this later than I'd hoped, but yes I'm okay with allowing the playtest classes.

Contributor

it occurs to me how much fun it might be to build Dhaene as something of a cave-dwelling twin blade ranger. hrm.

Duel Wield Rangers can be kinda nutty, depending on how you build them.

Yes, I was inspired to play a Fighter, Rogue or Ranger just to get into the combat feats and Dual wielding shenanigans that PF2 seems built for with action economy. That flurry Ranger things is gnarly. Dusk is made to fight with shortsword and dagger, or if he can somehow carry the weight (by realizing a shortbow is much easier to carry/use than hand crossbow, or dropping his club) two shortswords...

Currently working on an elderly tian-dan sailor who is in the middle of his bucket list world tour. In the process of tempering the right amount of silliness into the concept. :)

As far as mechanical bits are concerned: Would using shuriken be OK by you CrusaderWolf? They're listed as uncommon, but I'd like to pick some up as starting equipment, and they strike me as very on-theme and a good weapon for a thrown weapon combat style.

I will have to bail out. As much as I voted for this Chain; the only class speaking to me is Druid.

Thank you very much for the opportunity!

Horizon Hunters

Hey there, I have not much experience with pf2e or pbp but I'm pretty into 2e, at least in a reading the books way

In any case I'd like to play a Bard with swashbuckler/duelist archetype or maybe a dragon Sorcerer Who turns into a dragon disciple, not sure about race or other stuffs but aasimar or tiefling sounds cool.

Also... I'm not familiar with the adventure, any tip or theme to stick to?

Welcome, Ms Bloodrive, I'm new to GMing PF2 so we'll figure it out as we go!

The adventure's premise is that the party is searching for ingredients create a cure for a disease ravaging the area around Falcon's Hollow, a rural town in northern Andoran in the shadow of the Five Kings Mountains.

The area is politically dominated by the Lumber Consortium, which sort of rolls together a mafia, old-school political patronage machine, and a mercantile consortium. It's otherwise a pretty standard exploration-themed fantasy adventure, they didn't break any molds with this one :)

Are you ok with the uncommon races?

As its stands I'm looking at building a Leshy who is the creation of a Druid that got killed by the Lumber Consortium. Or at least, that what the character thinks as the truth (and the secret kept from him) is that his creator fled, abandoning his Order and his people.

Horizon Hunters

Oh, I see, after giving another glance to the Books and download the Pathbuilder 2 app on my Phone I think I'll rather go for a battledancer Swashbuckler half-elf Who later gets some bard stuffs.

The idea is a former bandit Who can't help but helping people in need, Will work in the questions when I can, the mechanical stuffs are mostly done already thanks to the app n.n

OK, I'd like to submit Bac Dau for this module experience :)

Questionnaire:
Bac Dau is an elderly Tian-Dan sailor who lived an unambitious life on the sea, working for merchant ships and sailing to Avistan and back many times. After a particularly long voyage, he returned back home to find that his wife and many of his children and grandchildren had been struck down by a terrible plague in his absence. He cursed fate and Hei Feng for the cards that had been dealt him, and swore off working on a ship from then on.

After a long period of mourning, and with no family to tie him down to his home town, he decided to travel the world until his end of days - chasing the stories he had heard over his many years interacting with people from all over the world. He's now on his way to Falcon's Hollow as part of that World Tour.

Two Goals: Memorializing his wife in some fashion, be it through sharing her story or establishing a physical memorial that could be viewed by all people.
To discover the truth of the "Valley of Gold Blossoms", a story told multiple times regarding a secret valley within the River Kingdoms where all the trees are made of gold.

Three Secrets: He keeps secret his shame of not being there for his wife and family when plague struck.
He has not been told of his surviving daughter's family now living in Absalom.
Some secret determined by the GM.

Important People:Wife - An Dau
Surviving Daughter - Han De Varisse
Merchant Captain he sailed with the longest - Chattry Broadberth

Horizon Hunters

Sorry people I must withdraw from this one, good luck everyone.

I have never done play by post but I am also interested.

About as good a time as any to update this list.

Blaydsong - Kane; Elven Wild Druid
Losonti - Teifling Magus?
Doctor Mono - Dhaene Blackoath; Dwarf Thug Rogue
Elbowtotheface - Grattfulk; Half-orc Fighter
Daniel Stewart - Theodorus Merula; Human Evoker
Oceanshieldwolf - Dusk Careel; Human Scoundrel Rogue
Cellion - Bắc Đẩu ; Human Blue Dragon Barbarian
Cuàn - Leshy?
jmart - dotted

@Cuàn a leshy would be a good fit for the region, so I'll sign off on that

REMINDER: completed character submissions are due by midnight tonight (I'm in CST and won't actually be up that late but you get the idea), with a decision pending on Sunday 11/22

Completed Submissions So Far:
Bắc Đẩu (Cellion)
Dhaene Blackoath (Doctor Mono)
Dusk Careel (Oceanshieldwolf)
Grattfaulk (Elbowtotheface)
Kane (Blaydsong)

Theodorus (Daniel Stewart) - Missing questionnaire

There's still time, I'm a little surprised that there hasn't been more interest. Perhaps I should have been more aggressive about promoting this thread.

Having been looking for PF2e PbP games for some months, the amount of non-Pathfinder Society PF2e Recruitments is incredibly small.

There are a huge amount of PFS2e modules being played here on PbP, but why exactly so few non-PFS I don’t know. Perhaps the lack of experience of potentially completely new PF2e GMs; perhaps those experienced GMs already have enough PF1e games already going; or perhaps just a current trough that has no real input one way or another.

I have made some changes, primarily switching from sword and board to two handed weapon, with the intent of taking Mauler Dedication at 2nd

Somehow I misread the original post as recruitment closing on Sunday.

As such I will not have enough time to finish my submission before the deadline as I'm still fidgeting with many parts due to inexperience with 2E.
So I will bow out.

Good luck all and have fun.

Here's my submission! I've got the build completed on an actual character sheet, I just need to transcribe it to the alias's profile.

Questionnaire:
Goal 1: I want to grow stronger so that I can protect the common people, especially demihumans and non-humans, from abuse by the powerful.
Goal 2: I want to learn more about my heritage and the Outer Planes, so that the destiny of mortals is decided by mortals and not the Heavens or the Hells.

Secret 1: Ascian has no idea what she’s doing. She acts like she’s two steps ahead of everyone, and sometimes she is, but there’s no master plan here, just lurching from one crisis to the next.

Secret 2: Ascian might not have a plan for herself, but her ancestor’s patron does. And now that plan has put Ascian further from her adoptive father than ever before, in the company of strangers, in a wilderness of evil.

Person 1: Andram Dizlaabblo - Gnome wizard who found her abandoned in the woods and raised her. Andram is the one who taught Ascian magic and the rudiments of fencing.

Person 2: Sidra Blackhorn - Tiefling oracle who Ascian met on an expedition into the Darklands. Ascian isn't sure what the proper label for their relationship is, but she can feel the potential for something significant.

Person 3: Kerged Omdam - Andram’s other student. Much younger than Ascian, but no less obsessed with learning more about devils. They often consult with one another and share their research.

Slipped it in there, huh? :)

I might be late, but I'm not late late!

You're not late if the clock is still ticking. ;)

I would love to get my feet wet with PF2e, and to bring some sort of re-enactment of a 1e dwarf reach cleric to the table.

But the mix between 2e inexperience and not really knowing what is 'fair game' as a character hook and reason to be in the region kinda made me drag my feet and miss the deadline also.

I think the PFS2e recruitments pop up and fill up with characters more easily because:

- The rules for PFS are 'kinda' well defined, which makes the GM job easier (even more so if you are inexperienced);
- You don't really need to hash a complex, long winded background for your character. You just bring a PFS valid one to the table and you are basically good to go. Even though I am not a big fan of the 'episodic, need to complete X out of Y encounters to be successful' nature of PFS, this is a big one for me - getting yourself really involved with a character and story, then not getting picked or having the game die shortly after it starts (or before it even starts) is sometimes more work than I am willing to put in :P

Basically what Albion just said. This game was tricky to design a character for because the recruitment didn't offer much of a "writing prompt" to start with. I had to dig into various discussions of the adventure elsewhere on the boards to get a feel for the where, when and why of the adventure's starting point.

For me, since this was a character that I had made a while ago, I just had to sort out where we were going to be, and how he got there.

Well there's been multiple people people who've expressed a desire for more time. I'm perfectly willing to push out the recruitment to Friday 11/27, if that's acceptable to everyone?

In the interests of adding a writing prompt for any new submissions or revisions:

The adventure's premise is that the party is searching for ingredients create a cure for a disease ravaging the area around Falcon's Hollow, a rural town in northern Andoran in the shadow of the Five Kings Mountains. The area is politically dominated by the Lumber Consortium, which sort of rolls together a mafia, old-school political patronage machine, and a mercantile consortium. It's very much a frontier far from the major population centers along the coasts of Andoran, and is semi-regularly harried by bandits or beasts. At the time the adventure begins, it is also facing the threat of plague--a wheezing, hacking, and eventually fatal illness called Blackscour.

The adventure itself is a standard exploration-themed fantasy adventure, they didn't break any molds with this one :)

Echoing Blaydsong. I guess I’m more a “make a character” and then play the game - I don’t require prompts or appropriate thematic guidance.

I’m not interested in extending Recruitment, and pretty sure that officially makes me “that player”.

Respectfully removing Dusk from the Recruitment. Thanks for your consideration CrusaderWolf.

Considering the lack of interest overall, extending it for an entire week might be a little overkill. But either way, I'm not going anywhere.
