This is one of those things that just sort of happen in games. I didn't plan on anyone caring this much about the woes of a super-villain, but it is fun.


Ah ah ah, not a super-villain. A reformed, REDEEMABLE supervillain. Someone trapped by circumstance who still yet can be turned wholly to the Light.

Big difference IMO.

I don't know about the rest of the group but based on our other games, if you didn't expect me to be sympathetic to the antiheroic tragic supervillain....


I am a huge fan of redemption arcs and would love to continue down that path.

You have power points to spend and I'd like to start the next adventure with you doing normal/normalish things. You don't have to all be separate or anything, but it would be fun to run some smaller things. Alternately, if there is anything like monitor duty, I could use that.

Sorry, busy weekend. I still need to spend Grace's points. Some I might bank but I can probably round out her powers a bit. I was thinking about adding some environmental protections to her suit... perhaps too little, too late, but it would make sense, that with exposure to the mystic elements it (and Grace) have begun to adapt... but I gotta tally the costs and see what makes the most sense.


I'm still cooking up some ideas for those power points. I may just up his low defenses.

Could be you are going about your life and run into something interesting. Could be you are heroing and run into something interesting. Could be you just hear about something and move out. Finally regarding power ups-- I think I'll spend a couple points for environmental heat/cold immunity (this is not immunity to damage effects with those descriptors), attached to her armor.

The bad news is I realized her most updated character sheet (in the 3e Excel sheet that someone made for chargen) is on my other computer so I am not sure how to calculate that in, but I think it's just the flat two points added to everything else.

I could also add immunity to suffocation... her armor could now generate a "helmet" that protects her from such things... though I think I might just bank the other three points for now.


Gracie, you can go ahead and post something if you like. I'll roll with it. Came up with some good links for the plants.

Gracie and Everyone, it doesn't bother me at all if you spend points on something now and then want to reassign them after the adventure when you get more points. It is easy enough to explain changes in build with a new item, different spell, magic energy, etc.

Max will spend the immediate downtime after the Maw researching the places that they visited. Reaching out to the underking and fairy, to thank them for their help and tell them the HellQueen was stopped without melting down the world or summoning the god. Wrapping up loose ends.

In addition to your power points, you can take if you wish the following advantage:

Benefit (1): Member of Eldritch. Eldritch is not necessarily a well known team in the mundane world, nothing like the reputation of the Freedom League or anything. But among those in the know with the arcane, being a member of the team brings a certain status. Your threats and promises are assumed to carry the weight of Eldritch.

Just a heads up gang I'm positively slammed at work - had a couple of additional jobs land of my lap today in an already busy week and need to do my team's performance review by Friday... also have our works Xmas do on Friday (at the 3rd tilt - covid allowing).

I think I finally figured out traditional style scrying. In Mutants and Masterminds, I think it actually requires two powers. You can link them if you want, or use one then the next.

So you need Detect: (the person, thing, whatever) (visual sense, usually). The base version of that only works on touch, but if you extend it it can be visual. Then you can make a perception check (with a much reduced penalty if you crank up the extended).

Then you need clairvoyance, clairaudience, or Scrying.

Scrying: Remote Sensing (Visual, Auditory, Mental) • 4 points per rank


Everyone should reset to 1 Hero Point. This is a fine time to trigger complications if you want. I've already triggered them for Oz and Cesarina at least.

Also, don't forget to spend your power points if you haven't yet.

I've never used these powers before, but I imagine their utility now.

* Create a pot with "By Phaedrus's Fortified Forms": Create 7 (125 cft), Continuous, Stationary, Innate (22)

* Transform air into boiling water with a few "By the Philosopher's Stone of Zosimos": Transform 4 (Transform any 12 lb. of material into anything else), (20)

* Transform air into wooden mallet with "By the Philosopher's Stone of Zosimos": Transform 4 (Transform any 12 lb. of material into anything else), (20)

Does that work? Checking my understanding of the game mechanics.

Grace's lab probably has a sterilizer and burners to boil things and plenty of wooden handled objects; we probably just need the pot. Was about to post this in character but wanted to run it by you as don't want to steal your thunder. :)


Those all work. Since your create is Continuous, you could also use create to create pot, water, and mallet.

Mallet is probably overkill, because the setting is probably full of wooden handles, but also maybe Max has grown accustomed to solving problems with magic.

Since the objects you want to transform are unattended and inanimate, there is no save or anything.


I'm on spring break this week, and therefor have too much time to fret. Everyone ok? Need anything from me?

This is all preliminary to the main thrust of this adventure, so don't worry too much about these initial encounters.
