Ok so basically I have been very busy with a bunch of things (Full-time work, Part-time university, etc) and I had been debating giving up on doing this game since play by post has started to lose its appeal to me because of how it always seems to slow to a crawl every time there is a fight.
So my suggestion is this: I'm going to more or less skip over combat unless it's a major boss fight. These sailors are no real threat to you so instead of spending two weeks fighting them I'm just going to describe the battle based on the strategy you have decided on and move on. This game going forward is going to focus more on roleplay and less on combat I hope that works for you guys as well.

Will do. Posting on another thread this morning took me re0sbumitting 10 times to get the post through. The board is definitely not behaving.

Druid: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Drake: 1d12 ⇒ 11
I am totally fine with the combat proposal.
After work today, I will level up both, and post in main thread.

My computer decided to die today. I try tomorrow to do some actions. Busy restoring data on loan computer while I wait for new one to arrive.

so the campaign has been pretty railroaded so far but the next "Chapter" will be more open-ended. You will have a general objective but how you go about it will be entirely up to you. I am also considering having a base building aspect where you design and build a fortress to serve as your home base. Let me know how you feel about that.
Seeing as slid and Vinnick have been MIA I am considering recruiting some new members to join us for this next chapter and I am working on ways to streamline things more so we don't end up with extended periods where nothing is happening again.

Stanislav Greymist |

Vinnick posted middle of last month. I hope he will return.
I would certainly be up for a lair building challenge. Seems I suddenly need some special sleeping arrangements. :)
If you recruit I'd like to see an arcane and a rogue/skills type. Its unfortunate but true that a normal rogue is the least useful though. We could go with an inquisitor or alchemist or maybe even an urban ranger. I am sure there are more types/archetypes that can handle stealth, traps, and perception. Do not misunderstand - I would prefer to have Slid back and will PM him myself.

Coriandrinne "Cori" Vespida |

I like the idea of having our own Hall of Doom. Designing and building a hideout/keep could be interesting.
I’m all for opening recruitment for a new party member or two.

Vinnick Varzel |

Its unfortunate but true that a normal rogue is the least useful though.
You just haven't played with the right rogue. Heh. Though I do love alchemist.
Apologies, spring time always has me sickly due to bad allergies on top of general fatigue from life.

Building lairs, now that would be interesting. A beautiful grove sure be needed, with a lovely underground accommodation beneath. Of course plenty dragon statues too.

Stuff about Stamislav you might need to know
For those of you interested in Stanislav's path to vampirism here are a few details. To become a true vampire requires 5 feats taken in sequence so the earliest it can be achieved is 9th level.
Stanislav has taken the first three, specifically The Bitten, The Dying, and most recently The Risen is now becomming a "fledgling vampire. Once complete he must sleep in a coffin and will gain the vampiric weakness to daylight and running water. This will pretty much limit his activities with the group to nighttime activities. And he must feed every 24 hours or become sickened and start making hourly DC 12 will saves to not feed on anyone around. So would be nice to come up with a way for him to feed regularly, as anyone can roll a 1 on a will save lol. I realize this could lead to a strange PVP situation. This requirement lessens as he takes the next feats and 'gains more control".
So he does not yet have the restriction to need to be invited into someones home. The only other thing to note is that if he is reduced to zero hit points, he will fall dead (no going negative), indistinguishable from a normal corpse. But he will not be really dead and will remain that way until either he is healed by negative energy or fed blood enough to heal him.

Vinnick Varzel |

Its alright, if you do "go feral" I can attempt to control you mr. undead boy ;)
I require a study/library and plenty of crypt/tomb rooms. I can also leave uncontrolled undead locked in rooms leading to our lair as a deterrence and early warning system.

Stanislav Greymist |

I think it would still be a contest, your control vs my hunger every hour. And I would still be sickened til fed. Luckily I have a choice when feeding to just take blood or do con drain. If i do a bite attack I take 1d6 of blood and that sates the hunger for a day. I have to pin or have an enemy helpless to do con drain. Perhaps some good role playing opportunity. :) Too bad that I cannot feed from the undead.
For the stronghold I'd like at least three coffins there. One primary guarded by your undead Vinnick and can be in the crypt. A hidden secondary. And a very well hidden backup without a way to it short of gaseous form or a lucky dim door. At 9th level I can create spawn to add to your growing army and to help guard coffins. Will also be able to dominate to create a guard or two.

Vinnick Varzel |

Okay so-
main Level 5 stuff-
3rd level spells, Picking up, animate dead (free), Fireball, Haste
Feat- Fast study (discovery), spell specialization (animate dead) Because I want all the minions. I can now control 33HD of undead + my Undead companion. I'll also likely ask to make use of Necrocraft, just so I can "scale" all the 1HD skeletons/zombies we "acquire" throughout the game.
And other than skills, thats largely it.

Hello fellow not yet fiends!
Quick mechanical party overview for my own sanity:
Cori, Antipally of Callistria, frontliner in heavy armor, high bluff, intimidate and sense motive, especially against males, Slight of hand, perform, k. religion and k. planes on top.
Ryzz, Draconic druid, druid, Main skills are perception and survival, some arcana, history, geogrpahy, nature, mix of offensive and buffing magic.
Vinnick, sin mage, all knowledges at 10, spellcraft 15, diplomacy 11 but not for gathering information, UMD.
Stanislav, not yet vampire. High perception, enough in most knowledges to assist competentently.
Missing skills:
Pretty few, all kn. skills are there, only one party member (Cori) has high sense motive, party is well covered in terms of kn. skills, relatively limited stealth unless I looked wrong.
Mechanical things: We have 2 direct frontliners, So Alex is looking to go for reach shenanigians. He already auto enlarges when he rages, and has long arm in his spell list. Meaning I already got 20 foot reach and combat reflexes with a Bardiche.

Take your time, no rush. Noticed I accidentally misspelled your name as "Gori", just one more misspelling away from "Gory" and from there its another one to "Glory" :).
Oh, Aleks is a cocky brat and womanizer, dont hesitate to prank him if you feel like it. As long as he pranking does not cause permanent damage its all good natured.

Alexandr Sergejevich Kerensky |

Alchemy? Can you make nailbombs? Asks Alexandr, as if professionally interested, while looking at his nails.
Also, no I am not a timetraveller! I need some more levels for that!

Casta Riled |

Hello! Pleasure to be aboard. I’ll be dining all the traps and things your heart desires haha and hopefully enough alchemy to keep things interesting.

Alexandr Sergejevich Kerensky |

I just noticed that Background skills are in play, and the Spiritualist has a bonker skill list for that. All knowledges and linguistics? Why, thank you!
Noticed some errors in my character sheet:
--I had lunge as a feat, which requires +6BAB to pick, replaced with Furious focus:
--I was treating Stealth as a Class skill, although it wasnt. I also didnt recognice that Urban Bloodrager (gains Diplomacy but loses handle animal) and Spiritualist already have all big 4 face skills between them, so I dont need extremely fashionable to have diplomacy as a class skill, switched extremely fashionable for highlander.
--I swapped my spiritualist spells. I now have burst of adrenaline and burst of insight. Makes it easier to remember which spell comes from which class, as these spells cannot possible come from Bloodrager.
--Does the party have a preexisting common language?
I speak Common, Orc (Halforc), Abyssal (there is no way he doesnt speak it, so its one linguistic slot) and have 4 more to pick.

Stanislav Greymist |

First, welcome to the team. Second, not all knowledge skills are background, but a nice hand full are.

R'yzzntyg Valignatirnarod |

The loot has been added to the sheet. Suggestions welcome for the loot, items can put ? under you name if you interested.
What happened to Slid story wise?

Alexandr Sergejevich Kerensky |

First, welcome to the team. Second, not all knowledge skills are background, but a nice hand full are.
I know, but having a fairly passable 5 (75% chance to assist succesfully) for an investment of one skill point is pretty good. And Nobility + History are quite frequently used.
Lootwise:
--I would love the STR belt, which would put me to STR 28 while raging. While that much strength is hilarious, I think boosting Cori to 18 or Stanislav to 20 is a better use of resources. Also, I didnt fight or plot for it, so what in character claim do I have?
Putting Cori to 18 moves he AB to +10ish, moving my hits with a Bardiche while raging from +12 to +14 is probably less impactfull, I will also be trailing the 2 full martials in terms of when I get my second attack.
--I could use the returning axes, improvement other the Pila I currently have as a back up ranged weapon.
--Already have a ring of protection
--Plenty of other candiates for nat armor amulet I think, would not say no though.
