Out of character discussion/announcements

So you might have noticed my posting times are a little odd.

I am located in Eastern time (Atlantic Canada) but I work nights so I tend to sleep during the day and do most of my posting during Australian time. I mostly keep to that schedule tough when I have time off I sometimes revert back to sleeping at night and being awake during the day but I try to avoid that as it makes thing harder on me when it's time to start working again lol.

Lets see looks like were just missing Joy and her bard.

For posting times, I am in the US on eastern standard time and usually sleeping between 10pm and 7am. Aside from those hours, I'm on at random times throughout the day. Can't really go anywhere, so I don't have an actual schedule right now.

If anyone wants to start and online loot list type deal I can stick a link to it up top and keep it pinned there.

Just double checking, R'yzzntyg should be able to have her spells, considering she does not have a spell book, and all the selected spells are only S and/or V, that is not requiring focus or material components.

Just gonna give a friendly gm warning here that this is a big gamble to be taking I'm putting red flags all over the place and you guys are ignoring them.

I don't take red flags well. Often I either miss them, see it as a challenge, or see $$ signs haha. That said, without spells, or without knowing what scrolls I have atm, I'll error on the side of caution for once.

I have a hard time with no map. I am happy to be guided in the right direction. But to be honest I did not note anything as a red flag until you mentioned it here. If we are not suppose to go here then it was mighty easy to get to this point.

Admittedly yes I did screw up a bit in that the door leading up to here was quite hard to open Normally the door is dc 20 to unlock but I originally missed the fact it was arcane locked making it 30. Now I noticed this afterwards but rather than backtrack I just decided to roll with it and pretend Slid got a nat 20.

As for red flags this is obviously the quarters of the mage in your current state is picking a fight with a wizard a good idea? Could you win? But it's very risky in your current state. If you wanna go for it by all means do so I was just offering a warning that it was dangerous and reminding you your goal here is to escape not clear out every room in the castle like in a normal dungeon.

here is a censored view of the prison.

I'll remove black zones as you explore more. There is a lower level which is basically just the prison block it's beneath the tower and the main building.

What about this query?

Right I started looking into that but didn't find a concrete answer so I'm just gonna say yes.

Oh that is a nice forum feature to be able to pin stuff at top of the thread page. Did not know that feature existed. :)

Just copied and pasted the link into the campaign description it's not technically pinning it but it works about the same.

I think it is best for our GM to roll our Initiatives. So the encounter can get rolling faster. :)

Female Changeling (Green Widow) Bard / 1 ||HP: 8, AC: 13/11/13, Saves: W+2/R+4/F+0, CMB/CMD: +2/+14, Init: +2, Perc: +4

Yeah, I'm fine with GMs rolling things like initiatives and perceptions.

Just a couple things, do you want us to wait and not post our actions until our turns in initiative or just post whenever we can and include a back up option if our main plan is no longer an option by the time our turn comes around in the fight?

Also, is Grumblejack still with us? I think his initiative needs rolled too.

I prefer the second option, post when you can and we will sort them in order and it the action is no longer viable then redo the post.

Yeah forgot his init.

For those that haven't yet could you add
HP/AC/cmb/cmd/Saves/init/perception under your names.

Block Initiative: Participants in the battle are split into the player and GM sides respectively, and you don't worry about post order as long as you are inside your block. For an example, lets look at the current battle:

The first block is:
Stanislav Greymist
Arielle Windsong
Vinnick Varzel

The second block is:
the Ogre and the guards

The third block is
R'yzzntyg Valignatirnarod
Coriandrinne "Cori" Vespida
Slidinom 'Slid' Kolmo

What block initiative does is that each character doesn't have to wait for the other in their block to post his/her action, he can just post because he is in the same block. After each person in the first block has posted you wait for me to do block 2. Then all everyone in block 3 can post.

Then I will post a recap with resolutions for all posts and then block 1 goes again.

Stop the runner if you can. Stanislav states. We want that key as much as we want to stop him.

He 5' adjusts and power attacks the closest guard. His weapon cuts hard and deep and he licks his lips subconsciously at the spilled blood.

I sort of see this as a race against to clock to get out, but at the same time a chance to gather resources we need to succeed along the way. But now that we have our gear I think anything else is gravy and likely not necessary for escape, unless there are more keys to be had.

It likely important to know how the gate to the outside can be opened. Also, are there things we can do to limit or discourage escape? Maybe lame horses in the stable? Take horses, if enough of us can ride? Hmm. Is there a stable and horses? Maybe we need to just kill enough guards to discourage pursuit. Oh, are there other prisoners to release and spread chaos?

I feel there is no unique way to go here. We could try to sneak, break through, or anything we can come up with. Horses would be useful to ferry us through water, but in an island it's sort of unlikely to find some. We should keep fighting indoors, or else we risk "awakening" the wizard warden. We should also keep an eye out for alarms (bells or something). At that point it becomes a gauntlet. I like the idea of impersonating guards, but the chance of being discovered is sort of high. All in all, I feel we should deal with each room as they come.

There is no set method thought going out the front door is certainly not the easiest route.

I have been ill with major migraines the last few days.

Remember we do have a boat to use to escape. It is on robe, and we also have a window.

Also could show the guard the fortune their boss has made off them, and selling of prisoner gear.

Was wondering if anyone remembered the boat

As a note I tend not to be on here as much on my days off (usually the weekends) as I don't have boredom as my motivator to come check on the forums lol so every once in a while there will be a few days in a row were I don't post anything cause I'm taking a break from the computer.

To use the boat we have to get down to the water. Not sure how to do that as a group. Stanislav can climb well but I doubt everyone can.

Shall we make a plan for the guard tower? That window should come in useful...

Maybe split the party? (Horror screams)

I know, I know... But maybe the boat's there so we can distract the guard tower while the boat riders sneak in from the other side.

No. If we attack the tower it will take all our strength. Climbing down is strength based. Stanislav can likely do it. So can the ogre. Maybe Clare. But those are the people who we need the most to fight. The rest of you will likely fall to your death.

Frankly, Grumble (he's our friend, not the ogre =[) can bring us (people without heavy armor) down with a rope around our waists.

R'yzzntyg is capable of gliding, so less chance of dying from falling.

Oh nice. Glide is very nice.

Grumble "might"be able to do that. What could go wrong? I don't even know if we have enough rope.

So what remains on the cloak is:
2 daggers? I dont think anyone took them could be wrong.
Bullseye lantern (full, lit and shuttered)
Hempen rope (50-foot coil)
Window (2 ft. by 4 ft., up to 2 ft. deep)
2 Potion of cure light wounds? those still there?
bag with 100 gold pieces inside
Unholy Symbol of Calistria (silver)
10 scrolls (scroll of one randomly determined level 1 spell, rolled when you remove the patch)
Rowboat (12 ft. long)
2 oars
War dogs, pair (as summon monster 1 to summon dogs) (duration 9 rounds)

Note that the window patch will create a window (and therefore a hole) in a nearby wall. If not immediately placed on a wall, it simply turns into a common wooden window frame. It cannot be placed on a living creature however. Once removed, a patch cannot be replaced.

So yes you have a rope available.

Made a loot shoot you should all be able to edit, can I get a volunteer to mark down what you found and put everything not taken on the loot list. Once an item is taken the player should add it to their sheet.

UTC +02:00 Female Kobold (Red) Legendary Druid (Wyrmkin) 5; HP: 37/37; AC: 18/13/16; CMB: +1; CMD: 13; Saves: +2/+3/+8; Init: +2; Perception: +12; Spells remain: 7/7, 5/5, 3/3

I have no hassle to maintain the loot sheet. :)

Going to need help with the loot up to this point, as to what everyone took, and what was taken off the robe, and if used up.

Plus Vinnick collection of items, I know he went shopping with R'yzzntyg.

PS: I am not including personal items retrieve (those are on your character sheets). Our left over money from equipment purchasing I making that part of the 2400 gp worth of treasure, as none of us had money purses with us in the cells, and Blackerly would have taken all of our money into his treasure hoard.

If the window makes a point of access in a solid wall, then this might not take so long after all.

We just need to find the point closest to the water level, and hope it's also lightly guarded.
