Hi all. I can finally log into the Paizo server, though not with Firefox, which is my preferred browser. Not sure what happened to the server but I am finally back. I hope everyone else is. I'll try to get a post on later today if I am behind.

Just delete all cookies from Paizo and you'll be able to log in fine.

I have a major work crisis for the next week. So will have almost no time to do anything else while doing about 16 hours of work per day.
Please carry out actions for her during this period.

Yeah work has been rather hectic for me as well. I work IT and our workload since covid started is up like 350% and to compensate our staff was increase from 5 to 7 members which would be great except they need to be trained and the one doing the training is our most experienced member. So really were down a person dealing with the increased volume and even when they come in that's still just a 40% increase in staff to deal with a 350% increase in work.
I have the weekend off this week so I will try to get the ball rolling again.

Wow... Hope everything works out and that the work load is reduced.

I sooo understand DireMerc. When I get really busy at work my management always threatens me with help. Help needs to be hired and trained when you are not busy.

Looks like our best bet is to make it through the dining room before more guests get there and use the spiral stairs there in the SE corner. That brings us out near our target too. In truth that looks to be the only chance we have unless we go out the back and back into the temple. Question will Slid be noticed or stopped or questioned if he enters dining area and heads up those spiral stairs? Best have a story in mind.

Stanislav Greymist |

Hmm. That possible exit is problematic. Looks like we would jump down into a closed courtyard. Would have to cut through the temple to get out of it.

It seems to me that reaching the SE stairs is the easiest way up. My greedy mind wants to explore the second floor a bit to steal something but that doesn't sound very smart. Since everyone is invisible, I think the problem is getting me to the stairs. That's just a Stealth check? Once we get up there, there's the problem of avoiding eventual guards and traps. Unless there are guards stationed at the stairs. In this case, another option is for the group to climb the stairs invisible and hoist me from outside using a rope.

I think you are referring to the same stairs I was. Its in the dining area though and there are some guests there. So to me it might be a bluff check for you to look like you are about some official errand. No real way to stealth with no cover/concealment through a well lit occupied room.

I'm good with bluffs, especially to maintain a cover :-)

*Zombie has walked into the room* I am back.
As Ajikisshochraos does not have item to allow visual disguising to a different colour and different drake appearances. Would it be better if Ajikisshochraos remains at the house? The rest of us can change appearance if needed, while moving about giving us better means of blending in with the crowd.
As for a distraction, we need it to be enough to cause the guard to move away, but not result in them calling for help.
I am guessing we are on the 2nd floor at the set of double doors, near the SE staircase.

Stanislav Greymist |

Perhaps a good bluff check could get them to help our with some task or check some outer gate or the like. I am not liking our chances with a noise - small or large. Minor Image could make the door look shut if we had that.

Remember, we are to replace all, but one, piece of the shield, without being discovered that their are fakes. The one remaining piece I am guessing is to still leave an aura of powerful magic, though probably made rather useless without all the pieces. Probably the shield is some sort of shielding for the city, to help keep the undead hordes away.

DireMerc |

The shards don't really do anything to protect the city but they are rather important as the shield was a gift given to the leader of the crusaders by their god Aroden I believe or maybe Iomedea I forget. He used it in battle against the whispering tyrant and the shield had the power to absorb every spell that was aimed towards it's wielder giving the paladin king a fighting chance against the supreme lich.
Sadly the shield had an upper limit to how much energy it could contain and after absorbing one spell to many it exploded. The explosion killed the paladin king and weakened the whispering tyrant enough that they were able to seal him away but they couldn't finish him off.
The shards your stealing is the pieces from the shield that were gathered after the battle.
this is fairly easy to acquire knowledge for anyone that studies history as the tale has been told and retold many times over the years especially in lastwalls sungs by bards and so forth. The story of how the whispering tyrant was beaten by the crusaders of lastwall.

I cannot post in the gameplay thread.???
Here is my init roll
Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Stanislav Greymist |

It's been a while but I seem to recall issues sometimes if you only post a dice roll. Just now remembering that. I suspect if I had added some text to the roll it would have resolved.

Still waiting for the opportunity to steal those shards.

R'yzzntyg Valignatirnarod |

I could cast obscuring mist on the next round, to help prolong our lives, seeing we really not here to kill it, but just buy us time for swapping the shards.

R'yzzntyg Valignatirnarod |

I am thinking of casting obscuring mist if it is dire situation, as I not sure how it will affect the process of changing the shards, or cast it when shards are swapped as evacuation aid.
