Are we able to step into the trees on the map to surround them, or would that be difficult terrain/give them cover?
Viola, since you didn't have enough actions for a melee attack, I didn't wait to move the bandit that was there. If you were going to throw your dagger or something, you can treat B1 as if they are still w/i 10ft for the purposes of that attack.
