Tawner, are you using Perform for your Day Job skill roll? If so which subskill do you have ranks in (Act, Comedy, Dance, Keyboard, Oratory, Percussion, Strings, Wind, or Sing)? Normally you would use Profession (Healer or Merchant or the like, Tawner actually gets a better bonus here because the skill is WIS-based) to monetize your healing talents, or (I believe) there is a specific PFS Boon that allows you to make Heal checks for your Day Job.
There's no intrinsic problem with making a Perform check I'm just curious as to which specific one you are using.

I was thinking Profession Healer based on the information that Lydia gave me during the first adventure. Then I had no idea what I was doing. Then I put it in my perform check. And then I went back in time before I did that and told myself to think about a Temple Healer based on what Lydia told me - which caused a temporal loop in which I continually have no idea what I'm doing. So...I should use Profession (Healer) and not do the perform check?
EDIT: Also, what do I do with all the loot and stuff from the first adventure? Does it come with me on this adventure?
The World's Most Interesting GM |
Sidi's player (though I need to switch characters as Sidi will be occupied) dotting in before I go pick up my son. I'll get the details posted tonight.
EDIT: Was going to play a Fighter, but what do we need?
Looks like we could use some fighter-y types.

Well as far as the money and prestige points go, I would suggest using your 2 prestige points on a wand of cure light wounds with 50 charges. You might also use some of the money on a wayfinder (check out your Confirmation chronicle sheet for more info). The rest of the money might go toward purchases of potions or scrolls you might think useful or toward upgrading some of your gear to masterwork level. You can sell old equipment for half its original cost.
I would look at the most recent version (9.0) of the Pathfinder Society RP Guild Guide for more info. Click my picture to get to a page with a link to it.
Profession skills are trained only so you would have to actually have ranks in it to use, but one rank would give you a +8 bonus on the check. Though I still like the idea of using Perform (comedy). I mean haven't you heard of the healing power of laughter?
Tawner Kelenfold |
LOL! Tawner's too uptight to perform comedy! I'll put it in Profession instead. *EDIT - actually, I'm going to skip the day job role; maybe in the future, but for now I'll just N/A that day job.*
I'll use the prestige points for a CLW wand, that's a good idea. The wayfinder should be free though, because according to my chronicle sheet, it's the first time for my first character.
Thank you.
Zaratina |

Character Name: Zaratina
PFS # 230524-10
Faction: Grand Lodge
Day Job: N/A

Given that you're still level 1 and very much in Mr. Potato Head territory, you could have that rank there to make Day Job rolls with for now, then trade it out for a different skill before reaching 2nd level but after purchasing the Temple Healer award (which I believe only costs 2 Prestige, so you should be able to do it after this). My Rogue is doing exactly that; he has a rank in Craft (Sand Art) that he'll turn into a rank in Use Magic Device as soon as he joins the Thieves' Guild.

Everyone is here so let's take stock.
We have:
Cleric 1
Druid 1
Fighter 1
Magus 1
Rogue One™
Spiritualist 1
Vigilante 1
Witch 1
How about the following teams?
Cleric 1 (balanced against the Witch)
Druid 1 (balanced against the Spiritualist)
Magus 1 (balanced against the Fighter)
Vigilante 1 (balanced against the Rogue)
Fighter 1 (balanced against the Magus)
Rogue 1 (balanced against the Vigilante)
Spiritualist 1 (balanced against the Druid)
Witch 1 (balanced against the Cleric)
I need to put the maps and handouts and threads up later today, so assuming the above is agreeable we should be able to start in earnest Late today/early Friday (EST). If anyone wants to switch teams let me know.

Anything wrong with making us all one party? 8 IS the maximum permitted table size, and I should think it would be easier to handle in PBP than in person.
Failing that, maybe I could switch with Airyn.
Incidentally, Lucy, if you worship Asmodeus, that will mean your 'social persona' alignment has to be Lawful Neutral.

Trust me, tried the supersized table, it's a lot less headache to split it. A slog at a RL table means a absolute eternity at the PBP table.
Also, slight misconception. Clerics and other divine casters must be within 1 step of their god to receive their spells. Casters that do not rely on divine powers, such as arcane, can be of any alignment.
Bit of a moot point, because Lucy should totally be Lawful Neutral (She loves abusing contracts to death) I just botched transferring the sheet, but still, for future reference.
The World's Most Interesting GM |
Tables may not have eight or more players.
I'm a big non-fan of tables of 7. People at the back of the line or with low initiative never have the opportunity to move forward or do things. Maps just get too crowded, and, as pointed out, any important decision takes forever to ratify.
Failing that, maybe I could switch with Airyn.
That's fine with me. What say you, Airyn?
The World's Most Interesting GM |
FYI, Dominic is not a big damage dealer. He uses a whip.
You should still be fine. You have a cleric with a fresh wand of cure light wounds and a spiritualist with a scary phantom to keep you in the fight and lend aid in battle. Oh, and you have a superhero.
Just give me a few more hours to get home and get things rolling.
Hallimir Duskrin |
Rogue one is happy to slot in wherever. But the mix looks pretty good so far.
Lvl 1 scenarios are usually pretty forgiving to any arrangement of party. So balance shouldn't be too much of an issue as long as there is a healer in each.
The World's Most Interesting GM |
Okay, Tawner, Lydia, Dominic, and Lucy please head over to Silverhex Table 001
Zaratina, Hallimir, Airyn, and Blane please head to Silverhex Table 002
You can find both gameplay links at the top of this discussion page as well.
Handouts and Maps are in my tag line above for both games.

Hallimir is a Shadow walker melee rogue with an above average AC, stealth and Perception for lvl 1. So I am happy to go first as the party scout/striker if noone else wants to.
Table/Team 2 Marching Order
1. Hallimir
2.

Zaratina......how did you get an Amulet of NA at Lvl 1? 2000GP is a little out of the price range for a LVL 1.1.
Tawner Kelenfold |
Table/Team 1, Tawner is happy to go second as he's got pretty good defense. But he'll go anywhere if need be.

I'm going to guess it was one of those things that you find during the course of the adventure that you later have to give back at the end, hence it is not listed in her equipment. I'm gonna guess she played through the Confirmation recently and forgot to update her tagline conditions.

Lydia and Fomalhaut will bring up the rear, then - or better yet perhaps, Tawner can bring up the rear (a traditional spot for Clerics, actually) and we can take his spot.

Correct.
Position 1 or 2.
EDIT: She also has one of the first sheets I converted for PbP before I developed my template, so it's a bit messier than I like. I'll get around to fixing it.

Tawner Kelenfold |
Nice one, World's Most Interesting DM! My favorite is Tolkien vs. Martin.

Team 2 has achieved their first objective and unlocked a wall of text!

Yeah, I like both of the Key and Peele ones, Jobs v Gates, Lee v Eastwood, Poe v King, Ghostbusters v Mythbusters, Picasso v Ross, Ruth v Armstrong, and Hitchcock v Spielberg v all those other directors v Michael Bay, but I had to keep it clean for office consumption--not that I don't like Weird Al mind you. ;)

Team 1 objective 1 complete.
The World's Most Interesting GM |
Looks like both teams have decided to hunt spiders. So, what's the plan?
Tawner's speed means that Team 1 are looking at a three day round trip, assuming the map is correct.
Things to consider for the journey:
camping gear
food
mounts or pack animals
antidote for venom
(web) solvent
It's mid-spring in Daggermark and climate is cool, but not terribly cold.
Tawner Kelenfold |
I'm good with that if the others are. Slowing people up is one of Tawner's specialties.
Dominic Radzi |
Dominic has rations. He'll buy 2 doses of antitoxin (100gp). If two people from group 1 buy medium tents, we're good. Lydia has survival skill, though it'll be interesting to see what she hunts for food.
