No worries. I'm going for friendly chiding, not annoyed. Almost always Junior will have a gregarious tone.

@GM Chapel, if I could make a suggestion regarding the map. In slides in my games I've found it useful to put the map layer and any terrain notes in a master slide. You'd go to Slide then Edit master, make your updates to change between master slides you'd go to Slide and then Apply Layout.
This will make the map layer and the terrain notes not editable unless someone goes in to edit the master. It will also automatically place these layers on the bottom. That way someone doesn't accidentally bump the map askew and makes it easier to grab our tokens. Especially if we're accessing on a mobile device.
Unfortunately I think this means that for some devices we're not able to scroll past the slide's edge even if it bleeds past. In those instances I put a transparent box beyond the edge of where I want to be able to scroll to.
If you want I can make these changes since you don't put any fog of war up.
GM Chapel |
I did not know that was possible. I set the title side image a background and had considered doing the same but was hesitant to make changes and end up skewing things. Def something I will use going forward. Thank you!
For a transparent box, you mean literally drawing a transparent box so that it expands the "slide" size?
I didn't do a FoW for the map because it's so large.
Fred Junior |
Yeah any object works, I waffle between an empty text box and just a transparent square. If there isn't anything active on the slide there won't be any scroll bars and it becomes impossible to see the full map.
I went ahead and added some transparent boxes to each of the maps edge so now we should be able to scroll.

Lol, opps. Also why does an essentially useless spell have a 10 minute casting time?
I suppose if I was the target of a sunder I wouldn't be able to fix it mid combat.
I'm fine with reconning it. Just wanted to demonstrate that I was a magical boy.
Merius Galca |
Basically it's to prevent easy counters to sunder. Otherwise a bunch of level 1 mages could keep adventures from breaking down doors or whatnot.
The decision was for it to be explicitly used outside of encounters.
The long casting time also matters a lot when your rope is fraying or in the case of our ship campaign, the sails are damaged in a storm.
Again, I doubt the GM cares in this case, but it does alter the spell noticeably.

With everything that's going on I understand if not everyone is able to post regularly. There are more pressing priorities right now. I'll continue to check periodically and update as necessary but don't feel like a PbP game of Pathfinder needs to be your number one priority.
Take care. Be safe. Eyes up, Guardian.

Hey everyone. I think I'm going to have to drop this game. I understand people have a lot going on, but it's just proven to be too slow for me to be really engaged. I don't want to drag my feet in this game and not give everyone the engagement they deserve from a player.
Best of luck everyone!

That's a shame. Sorry to hear that. Stay safe and healthy.

I know things have been slow as of late but I am doing my best to keep things going while still healing and working remotely with a 10 month old learning to walk. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little shocked, until the last week or so, I felt like we were still moving pretty steadily forward.
But if that's your decision, I can't hold it against you. No hard feelings. We all have to do what he think is best.
Maybe we can meet up in another game some time!
Fred Junior |
This game is a little slow. The pace of a game is determined mostly by the GM and you seem to make a gameplay post once every 3 to 5 days. Compare that to the Hell's Vengeance game I'm in and the GM there makes 1 or more gameplay posts every day. (Which is a little fast for me)
This is not a criticism, just an observation. The pace is fine.

It is absolutely not personal. I fully understand the life commitments, I have an 18 month old, it wasn't all that long ago.
PBP is just a rather slow medium. I agree when we started back up we were keeping at a decent pace, but especially with all my time at home now, it just feels slower than it ever did before on top of actually going more slowly than it had been. I loved the lead in, you've done a good job. I just have found myself less engaged than I'd like as a result, and I don't think that makes me a great addition to the "table" so to speak.

How's everyone doing? Been a while since we've seen any action here.
Zhao Fen |
Also still here, I was waiting on the GM to answer your question Zylah, I'm afraid I'd also missed that you had lifted the sheet. Hopefully everything is ok with Chapel

This is clearly an ambush right? I'm surprised that init hasn't been rolled with us totally surprised.
