Flavor:
Zylah was born and raised in Nidal, and was hand picked by the umbral court at a very young age because of her spiritual sensitivity. She was made to harbor a shadow inside her very being in order to gain power from it. This training and manipulation changed her in many ways, especially mentally, but she never changed for the worst.

For reasons that were never made clear, she was spirited away by the members of the Esoteric Order of the Palatine Eye and taken to Ustalav. There she learned learned to work with the order and believe in their purposes.

That is, until she was spirited away again. Now she doesn't know who or where she is, but there is still something living in her shadow.

Very rough idea of what Zyhla looks like.

She is a very small, almost frail looking halfling girl with nearly white skin and eyes, which is off-set by the raven-black hair that she wears loosely. Her dress is simple, but functional. Sometimes it seems like her shadow moves independently of her.

Basically, she's still a little childish in her demeanor, as she never really got to grow up, what with effectively being an experiment from the time that she could walk. Her only real 'friend' has been the shade that lives in her shadow. Not quite Big Daddy quality, but a bit protective of her, even if it won't admit it (I really haven't decided how much personality the shade will have, but it's somewhat intelligent, so I figure it will have some personality, if a bit bland and 'dark').

Zylah doesn't express much emotions, but that's mostly from being exposed to the shade for so long, though irony sarcasm is not lost on her (that's the Wednesday portion). She relies on the shade for both protection and strength (that's the Little Sister part). And she isn't afraid to get her hands dirty if it means maintaining her freedom (that's where Carrie comes in).

I figure that whoever brought her to the place where they started, could either be associated with Nidal, where she grew up, or found out about it and wanted to do their own experiments on her. Or something else, if it works better.

Once again, this is kind of the Wednesday Addams-type personality poking through. Even when she smiles, it seems like there's nothing genuine about it.

While I still don't know if she would be overly affected at the recovery of her memories regarding the shade.... she might be affected by the fact that someone stole her away from what little freedom she had acquired and (maybe) friends.

I had thought, when I was quickly throwing together her background, that maybe someone in the Esoteric Order may have either betrayed her to someone else, or started experimenting on her themselves. That would be a far bigger blow.
