Tana will move up to Level 3 and take the Shadow Monk Monastic Tradition.
And thank you again for continuing the adventure! :)
Question: For clarification the 80 GP is split evenly between the members, or how are the gold pieces divided? Thank you in advance for your reply.

Not really, I think that the weight will set the DC of the Athletics check needed to swim. Heavy armor, you will just sink to the bottom, no swimming possible. However, since they have dropped a rope to the anchor, you could climb up to return to the ship, but you will have to traverse the sea floor, and if you need to swim within the trench, you may have serious trouble...

Ooo, a wizard. How does copying spells from other wizards work in 5e and AL? Is it possible from an NPC?
Also, sorry for lack of posting this week. Been a bit swamped at work. I did find time to level up though.
Aeshuura |
Most wizards guard their spellbooks, and are reticent to share. (Generally, you are only able to copy from spellbooks found or if another PC decides to share with you. I figure that it is kind of like asking to see your paycheck? I dunno.) No guidance has been given to friendly NPC wizards.
In this case, the ship's wizard doesn't even know you yet, so she would not offer until you are considered friendly. It might be considered rude to outright ask... Maybe if things change through gameplay, opportunity may open up...
Aeshuura |
No worries. We will see what opportunities are given, but she will have a fairly plain set of spells, though you at least know that she's got water breathing...

Am going to wait a little bit for Tana, and hopefully, Jiro can join us as well!

Yep, I’ll be in! Catching up and will post soon.
Aeshuura |
Darkness, you wouldn't have known to do it, because the ink cloud happened just before your turn.
Aeshuura |
Merry Christmas everyone! I will start back up in a couple of days! Gonna try to catch Star Wars!
Tana Kulenova |
My sincerest apologies for my long absence. With the holidays, work (2jobs) and a back pain that has lasted 7 days now, I have not been able to participate. The holidays are over, my back is feeling better today, and so I am once again able to participate daily. Let me catch up and I'll post Tana's next action.
Again, my sincerest apologies for my absence, this was not intentional.
Aeshuura |
No worries! I figured that something like that had happened! I am glad that you are feeling better! I have been working on a post, on and off all day...

Tana is happy to be back aboard the ship. She first listens to both Antonio.
She nods in agreement as Antonio mentions the cold and the water pressure.
Yes, Captain, Antonio is correct. We need something to counter the effects of the cold and the pressure.
Then as Blacklock speaks Tana's ears perk up. His theory is intriguing! And as Blacklock says "We'll be countin' on you for backup", she too focuses on the Captain's response to Blacklock.
Insight: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Sorry. Start of semester was busy AND day job decided rather than just taking a couple months to focus on planning a massive multi-year upgrade to our main computer system, since we're "only planning" there should be plenty of time to cram upgrading a completely different system in before "the real work" begins on the big one. *sigh* Just all aligned into long days and nights, then too exhausted by the time I had free time. But I'm settling into a rhythm now that should be better. Sorry again.
Aeshuura |
Damn, working in a College Bookstore, that hits close to home. We just changed systems last July and still working out the kinks.

Okay, essentially we are done. The RP will lead to the final climactic module, if you are interested. This has been the longest single thread that I have done on these boards. I want to check in with you all to see if you have interest in doing the last one. There is a pretty good magic item at the end that everyone could make use of, but Shaldinari has already given up gaining a level and some others may have to as well to complete this last module.
Anyway, I am checking interest and we can do rewards.
Zar, if you want to spend money on scrolls, that would be the equivalent of learning spells from Halara. That is the best workaround that I could come up with, unless anyone else can come up with an AL legal alternative. I just really like the idea of Zar having that point of contact.
Here is the info for rewards of the session:
CCC-WWC-02: Dark Waters of Hate
Date: 1/30/2020
DM: Noel Mock aka. Aeshuura (DCI #6203763429)
Level gained? Yes (you may forego this level to play in the next one)
Gold: 40 gp each (This is from Mother Homwell's payment, corals and jewelry.)
Downtime: 10 days (this is not taken if you forego the level)
Magic Item: Trident of Fish Command Weapon (trident), uncommon (requires attunement) This trident is a magic weapon. It has 3 charges. While you carry it, you can use an action and expend 1 charge to cast dominate beast (save DC 15) from it on a beast that has an innate swimming speed. The trident regains 1d3 expended charges daily at dawn.

Excellent! I think Jiro might be in the same boat, and hopefully life has eased up on him and he can join us!
Zar Orbmark |
Ok, so I'll also skip the level and just take the gold. Buying scrolls to scribe seems extremely expensive so I guess I'll pass on that also and there doesn't seem to be much I can do with my downtime so I'll just let it accumulate.
I do believe that I can swap out a spell however (correct me if I'm wrong). I think I'll take Frostbite in place of Ray of Frost.
Aeshuura |
Just remember that your total will cap out at 320 gp, not counting money from selling starting equipment. But the magic item at the end of this one will be worth it, I think...

Yep, I'll skip the level as well, and stay in!
Things are easing up a bit, and I'll do my best to stay on top of it if y'all are fine with keeping the little kobold who sometimes zones out around. ;)

I see it like Jiro zoning out, and there's classical music going on while action plays out in slow motion around him...
Zar Orbmark |
So barring any spending, I could get up to 98 gold for this next adventure without hitting the cap.
Also, it looks like we can have 3 magic items at lvl 5. So will I be able to claim the item at the end of this adventure and still keep my wand?
Lastly, in the AL guide it mentions a downtime activity of "Catching Up". It says you can spend 20 days at 4th level to gain a level. So would I be able to do that at the end and level up for completing this next adventure to get back to level 6?
Aeshuura |
That's how I rule it, so by all means, keep one item that you had previously and the one we give out for this one!
^_^

Hello, Everyone. I wish to extend my apologies to all of you as I have not been able to post in a long time.
I very much enjoy the group, our excellent DM, and our adventures! Regrettably, however, I have to be fair to everyone and I must withdraw from playing for the foreseeable future.
I work 2 jobs and with other events and commitments, it is best at this time that I withdraw.
If things change in the future, I may ask to join you then. Until then, I wish you all fun adventures and may all your rolling be natural 20's!!!
Take Care,
Ken Baden, aka Tana Kulenova
Cheers!
Aeshuura |
I totally understand. Look us up in the future! Mahalo for playing, Ken!

Sacred Weapon. As an action, you can imbue one weapon that you are holding with positive energy, using your Channel Divinity. For 1 minute, you add your Charisma modifier to attack rolls made with that weapon (with a minimum bonus of +1). The weapon also emits bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light 20 feet beyond that. If the weapon is not already magical, it becomes magical for the duration.
Yep, an action. As with Jarprax, you can have activated it last turn, but remember to mark off one round of duration on your turn. There is no problem with casting with someone next to you. (Unless those with the Mage Slayer feat, which is extremely rare.)
