Seeing Galt go down, Zar uses his wand on the farthest acolyte.

Dam vs Purple: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 1, 3) + 3 = 11

How do you use multiple charges on a wand?

Grand Lodge

RPG Chronicles | [url=]Slides]

You can use as many charges as you like, but if you use all of the charges you roll a d20 and if you get a 1, it crumbles to dust. I think that Blacklock was going to discard it anyway, so he did it in fancy way.

Each charge past the first adds another missile.

Zar nodding in appreciation of that display of magic, produces his own wand and sends a flurry at the furthest acolyte. Three missiles are well enough, as the acolyte tumbles over the rail, overboard! Acolyte Purple, Dead.

Will give Jarprax until tomorrow morning.

Ah woops, I didn't notice the d20 roll part. I just wanted a cool Zhentarim emblem magic-burned into his hand.

Naw, it's a cool story point! No worries!

But, But he took my glorious one on one combat. Torm vs. Bane, but with my dice rolls lately, Bane most likely would have won.
And I did like the whole wand melting thing. :o)

Hopefully she lives through the round so he can heal her...

The followers are still asleep, and snoring loudly on the pier.

Captain Lesiko, falters then growls to his crew, a pool of his own blood forming at his feet, Take her down.

The man looks up at you all and then at Halara's unconscious form and starts to ask, Is she... ?

Combat is effectively over, but if you want to chime in, it may affect the aftermath a bit...

EDIT:
Antonio Rushes over to the wizard and pours his healing potion down her throat.
Healing potion: 2d4 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5

He then stands up "Jarparx check the other wounded, I will keep an eye on the Banenites."

Seeing Antonio helping Halara, Shaldinari rushes up to the Captain Lesiko. Kneeling down next to the bleeding merchant, she grabs a healing potion from her belt and quickly feeds it to him in an effort to keep him from bleeding out.

"Those cultists are fanatic - we should tie them up before they regain consciousness."

With the captain and wizard taken care of for now, Jarprax will bandage wounds among the rest of the crew. He also has a healing potion, if anyone is unconscious (otherwise, he'll offer it to Lesiko or Halara).

If nobody else is looking particularly injured, Jarprax will follow his own advice and start tying up sleeping Baneites.

Blacklock walked down the pier slowly, strangely carrying his xbow over his shoulder in his left hand. His right sleeve was tattered and missing where a long pink and blue manaburn freshly sparkled across his skin...in the shape of a descending dragon.

But he paused before stepping onto Lasiko's Wave Dancer.

"Ah but see, city law ends here...there starts another." he said, pointing on deck and to Lasiko in particular "Captain's orders whether these men live or die, by my reckoning." he quickly cocked his xbow and leveled it toward one of the bound men, eager to comply with Lasiko's death sentencing.

The crew overwhelm the last acolyte, dragging her to the ground as she screams for Bane to aid her in smiting the heathens!

1d20 ⇒ 8 Ooh, using Jiro's inspiration... 1d6 ⇒ 1

Halara takes a turn for the worse, but Jarprax gets to her in the nick of time! She had two fails and two successes. Module says she starts with one fail... ^_^ If the combat when any longer, you would not have been able to save her. Great job everyone!

Captain Lesiko graciously accepts Shaldinari's potion, chugging it like a man that has been stranded on a desert island, before handing the vial back, You have our gratitude. Had you not arrived when you did, and released heaven's fury as you all did... I hesitate to think what would have befallen my crew.

He casts a concerned look to Halara once more, She met them first, and almost as a show, that priest used his foul magicks upon her... She has been my first mate for years, and I cannot imagine running this ship without her. Tell me, is Mother Homwell safe?

In the background, the crew works hard to restrain the sleeping Baneites. One or two start waking up at the end of the minute and are quickly beat down with belaying pins.

When Blacklock speaks up, aiming his deadly weapon at the head of a prisoner, Captain Lesiko speaks up, At sea, perhaps, but here, we should let the city handle this. Better not to make waves, eh?

Detensioning and throwing his crossbow back behind the folds of his mutli-colored cloak, the rogue just grinned...amused to see Lasiko's decision.

They both knew who ran this city.

Melvaunt's Council of Lords would show either mercy or wrath at the toss of gold. And Blacklock would be most interested in that transaction...

With the captain back on his feet, Shaldinari watches with curious interest as Blacklock stands over the captured cultists. Her eyes flick back and forth between Lesiko and the stern faced thief with his deadly crossbow. Grimacing slightly and shaking her head at Lesiko's decision to turn them over to the watch. She had to agree with the rogue's original thought. Better to put these men down now rather than let them continue spreading their evil elsewhere. But it was not her decision to make.

"I believe Mother Homwell entrusted you with a package." She whispers quietly to Lesiko, well out of earshot of the prisoners. "I'd be most grateful if you could show me where it is, so I could insure its safety before we set sail."

Captain Lesiko nods, after giving you all a long look, and responds, Come with me. Your arrival heralds the indication that she is alive and well, I hope?

--

A few minutes later, the city watch arrives with Mother Homwell and upon seeing the bound captives and Halara sitting up speaking with Zar and Jarprax, she cannot but help shaking her head in utter amazement...

Captain Lesiko shows Shaldinari the bundle that she recognizes as the bag of holding that they gave her, safely placed in a secret compartment under his personal foot locker.

Mother Homwell gathers you all and, once again, apologizes to you all, inviting you to come along and help her escort the discs to Elturel and the High Church of the Faithful. There, she will pull some strings to make sure that you are all suitably rewarded.

--

This is essentially the end, you may choose to accompany her, or not, but it is relatively uneventful / not really part of the adventure. Chime in on whether you will accompany or not, and I will adjudicate the finalization and give you your rewards in game...

Considering how well this has gone so far, Jiro plans to accompany her unless the majority of the group does not. Only because there's safety in numbers, and absolutely not because he's grown accustomed to their presence and would miss them. Certainly not that.

Grunting in satisfaction upon seeing the bag and the discs, Shaldinari finally relaxes a little. Closing the secret compartment, she nods her acceptance to continue escorting the discs.

"I'll not be letting these out of my sight again until they are firmly in the hands of those who can destroy them." She says to Homwell. Her eyes forgiving the priestesses ill conceived plan, but her tone still expressing a bit of frustration with the woman.

But with her mission sneaking up toward success, she takes a moment of two to breath in the fresh salt air and let the sun warm her face before turning to Lesiko. With a feral smile and fae twinkle in her eyes she thumps the recovered captain on the back.

"Glad to be back aboard captain." She says. "I hope you picked up some better food for the journey than that stew and biscuits we had last time. All of this saving lives and livelihoods has given me an awful hunger."

Helping Halara to her feet, Jarprax 'helpfully' (roughly) hands the prisoners over to the city guard before boarding the ship. As with Shaldinari, he is not anxious to let the discs out of his sight again, regardless of any assurances from Mother Homwell.

Checking on various crew members, making sure they are not wounded and greeting old acquaintances, Jarprax's head pops up at Shal's last sentence: "Is there food?!"

Captain Lesiko laughs, We are reprovisioning now for preparation to leave this evening. We will have fresh fruits and vegetables for a while, though stews are the best way to keep the body warm and feed my whole crew! I may be able to convince the men to have a feast once in a while...

Assuming everyone else has the same sentiment as Shal, Jar, and Jiro, I will wrap it up...

The trip is largely uneventful, and it becomes clear that Tarmin Galt was a driving force to stop you all. After a tenday's travel, first through the Moonsea, then via ferry up the river to Elturel.

The church of Torm is large and grand. You find that there are three major gods that are worshiped in the holy city of Elturel: Helm, Torm, and Aumanator. Above the city, almost a second sun that they call 'the Companion' that destroys all undead that its light touches.

You enter and Mother Homwell brings you in and has the acolytes prepare you rooms to stay the night, before meeting with the High Priest.

After hours of waiting, Mother Homwell sends for you. When you arrive in the grand hall, you find her in white vestments with the gold trim that seems to be the style for this city, a far change from the dirty grays and browns from her time at the Helping Hand. She looks exhausted, but brightens as you all enter.

As promised, Malana Homwell gestures to six bundles on the table, each with a money pouch resting atop it, I have just about exhausted all of my credit with the High Guardian here, and I look forward to returning home to the Helping Hand. Take this cloak and it will protect you in you future journeys. We expect the discs to be destroyed within the next day or two. We have been working with the churches of Helm and Aumanator to destroy the relics, and we believe that the Companion will finally rid the world of them.

She thanks you one by one, and wishes you all the best in your journeys to come...

Fin.

Male Human Speed 25 feet

Antonio just simply nods to Mother Homwell as he keeps his vigilance next to the disks until their destruction.

As things settled down and final preparations for departure were being made, the rogue pulled a few of the party aside "Look. I don't want those discs out of my sight...but I got some burning business I need to attend to. The kind that festers when its left unsettled...Ill make the voyage." and when it seemed he was doubted he repeated "I'll make the voyage. Don't wait for me."

-----

The rooftops high above Melvaunt were steamy hot that afternoon, as Blacklock leaped from rise to rise. His cloak had acquired the visage of a bright blue sky, and when he twisted his body just so in mid-air, it wrapped him in a sheathe of sky. Hold and twist.

But his trail wasn't wholly concealed, being followed was half the point after all. Every block, he carved a mark from the cant of Calimport...a half circle, shade inscribed...a fraction of 10ths increasing closer to a certain intersection. A call to meeting...fresh wares available.

So it was not so surprising when the Calimport thieves found Blacklock up on that ruined balcony, his crossbow hanging neatly from a peg on the wall some 15 ft from where he idled. It was perhaps a pitiful sight to the approaching men, to see him sitting there in that wooden chair with his back to the railing, back to the sea...a view of the Wave Dancer lifting anchor.

In their most recent encounter a garrote came from that direction...the dumb rogue had learned to protect his back it seemed. "Come to your senses then? Or were your Baneite brothers so badly beaten you think you'd rather cut and run with us? Heh. I don't blame ya..." the yellow toothed man prodded.

::Baneite brothers?:: thought Blacklock. It took a measure of self control to conceal his confusion...how could Zhents and Bane be connected? He set that puzzle to the side however, and focused on the task at hand.

He crossed one leg over his knee, reclining slightly "Somethin' like that. But maybe I just wanted to see what it was like. What it was like to grovel before drow like you Basadoni dogs. Got me thinkin: how long could I play b*$#* before I became one."

"Mmmm." the man made a sound like he just ate something delicious, licking his saber edge "Was hoping for a spar..."

With outrageous speed the man lunged with the blade, and at the same time another came from Blacklock's side, immediately getting the rogue in a headlock. Blacklock's face started to turn purple as the saber slashed across his chest...but all he could do was stare at his crossbow on the wall.

Until the positioning was right.

Suddenly, the rogue threw himself back in the chair. Under his cloak, he had weighted the back of the chair with heavy scrap...and together with the man headlocking him, it was quite a massive object indeed that broke through the ruined balcony and toppled to the ground 5 stories below.

Blacklock watched the astonished yellow toothed man as he fell. He didn't notice the rope tied to Blacklock's ankle. The rope whose other end would pull the trigger on the crossbow when the rope went taught.

The headlocking man splattered on the ground about the same time the crossbow bolt emerged from the yellow toothed man's mouth from behind, Blacklock swinging in the sea breeze.

---

It was a race then. No less than 6 Calimport thugs were right on Blacklock's tail, but the rogue had developed in his life a certain concealed athleticism...his appearance of squalor and sickness was really just muscles developed in non-traditional ways for non-traditional purposes. He could not be easily caught.

The Wave Dancer was already away, thankfully, but not quite out of harbor. But he could see there wasn't enough pier...it took a moment of acrobatic creativity for Blacklock to leap from dingy to dingy, finally tossing his grapple up onto the Dancer's railing as it yanked him forward...just narrowly out of the path of 6 flying poisoned daggers.
