Galahad0430 |
As Pyros moves away, the assassin takes a swipe at him.
AoO v Pyros: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Pyros easily evades the attack, then cuts down the last mage maintaining the ritual.
Signy steps up and wounds the assassin. With the last mage down, the glowing barrier fades away. Jamandi finally cuts down the frost giant as well. The two remaining assassins drop their weapons.

Signy grins broadly as her opponent drops his weapon. She extends her arm fully, aiming the point of her rapier at the man's throat.
"That's better. I've been wondering how long it was going to take for you all to realize how doomed this sleazy little escapade of yours was. I mean I've made some bad decisions here and there in the past, but compared to this?" Signy lets go a whistle of awe.
She uses the tip of her weapon as a pointer, gesturing in the direction of Jamandi. "Alright, let's go. Time face the consequences for what you lot have been getting up to this evening."
Halden Elwood |
Halden stares at the fallen frost giant. Maybe these 'Swordlords' are better than I'm giving them credit for. He puts away his sword and picks his bow up from the floor. He then starts searching the corpses for valuables.
Kern Therensgard |
Kern's fingers twitch, but he subsides and settles for keeping an eye on the two assassins
Not my home. Let the Lady decide their fate. Besides, I'm curious if anyone decides they need to be shut up before they say something damaging.
Kern is waiting and watching, preparing to interrupt anyone other than the swordlord's staff who decides to attack the surrendering assassins.
Tartuccio |
Lady Aldori! Please, I know who arranged this attack. The vile king of Pitax, Irovetti! What's more, I know who among us works for him..." After a dramatic pause, Tartuccio points at Halden. "You! Show everyone the ring you are wearing! You think I wouldn't recognize the seal of Irovetti? That's why he wasn't killed -- the bandits recognized him as one of their own by his signet ring!"
Halden Elwood |
"You mean this ring? The one that you gave to me just before we entered the room? The one you admitted you tried to give to Pyros before giving to me? I'm not sure what sort of trick you're trying to pull here, but it's not going to work. If I was a spy working for Irovetti, why would I be wearing his mark? Nobody here is dumb enough to believe that."
Jamandi Aldori |
Jamandi looks back and forth between Tartuccio and Halden.
"Yes, such a gambit would be typical of Irovetti and his henchmen... And yet, it still seems suspicious."
She sighs in exasperation. "There's definitely a spy among us, but who? Tartuccio or Halden? All I have is one word against another. I'm afraid you're both under suspicion."
Signy Birkirsdottir |
Signy looks at the gnome like he's just sprouted a second head.
"Seriously? Yeah, that's really stupid. Not ten minutes ago you had to try twice to give that ring away. What are you thinking?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Signy Birkirsdottir |
"Well I don't know who Ivory-etty or whatever is, but the gnome gave the ring away. I saw him do it."
Faerin Cordova |
Faerin was definitely inclined to believe those she'd just fought alongside, rather than the self-serving gnome. As the summoned dog vanishes, she makes her way over to Signy, the only notably injured member of their group.
"Here." she says handing her a potion. "You're going to keep me busy keeping you alive aren't you?" she mutters in a slightly amused tone.
Teryll |
As the fight ends, Teryll moves up to join the others, but keeps his bow ready at hand. When the argument ensues, he steps up to the front.
The Gnome is an arrogant ass, but is he telling the truth? and quickly considers the events of the day.
"I am fortunate to have been blessed by Erastil with a good sense of people. I spent a good bit of time in conversation with Halden earlier, and along with his actions tonight, I feel that accusing him of being a traitor and saboteur is an unjustified. He's had ample chance to turn on us, and appear the lone surviving hero if he'd wished."
Harrim dwarf |

"Erastil?!"
Harrim turns his head to the side and whispers to himself.
"Old Deadeye..what does he know about anything?"
He waves his hand in front of his face.
"Damm flies"
Seeing someone is wounded he moves over and calls out.
"The Harbinger of Last Days can heal!" He looks up at the sky.
Signy Birkirsdottir |
Signy is delighted to see Amiri has survived the evening. She flashes the woman a quick smile and gives her a little wave as she argues against the gnome's accusations.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Signy takes the potion Faerin gives her, but tucks it away for later instead of drinking it. Nah, that's the Accidental God's job, not yours. Don't worry, I'm crazy lucky" she whispers back. Then she places her hands on her wound and heals it.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Jamandi Aldori |
"Enough!" Jamandi's shout silences the squabble. "I'm still not sure which of you I can trust. The risk of entrusting the whole affair to aspy is too great. Here's what we'll do -- two teams will head out. One will be with Tartuccio, the other with Halden. That way I'll know at least one group can be counted on to serve my interests in the Stolen Lands."
