Signy, your attempts to smooze meet mixed results.

Amiri- likes you. She tells you she used to be part of the Six Bears clan, a Kellid tribe in Numeria. She looks forward to going with you into the Stolen Lands.

Tartuccio - is all smiles and congratulates you on being a part of his team.

Harrim- Is a morose person. All doom and gloom. Think Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh.

The Elf woman is disdainful of you. (you can make another Know(religion) roll)).

Both Sebellius and Jamandi are polite, but distracted and both make an early exit.

In this case, the DC is 10, so you can make it untrained.

Awoken by the Halfling woman, Teryll rolls out of the bed, and grabs up his weapons belt from where he left it hanging up against the bedside table. He straps it on then pulls the morningstar and holds it with a comfortable familiarity.
Positioning himself to watch the doorway, but not allow the strange woman to move around behind him, he reaches to ensure his holy symbol is still around his neck then says "How many? Who are they? How far behind you? Who are you? And why are they after you?"

Assuming we're not in initiative yet, Teryll will do as much of the following as time allows:

Perception for pursuers: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
Sense Motive on the Halfling: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Pick up his bow and arrows and sling them for easy access.
Not really expecting to be able to, but if he can put his armor on, he will
Hustle her out the door towards the nearest ally's room.

Sovereign Court

Signy:
Now that you are up close to her and interacting, you realize with a shock that she is undead.

Sovereign Court

The Halfling seems to be genuinely frightened. You have time to don your armor hastily (-1 AC) just as the door to your room bursts open.

"There you are little one, did you think you could get away?" The man's eyes shift to Teryll.
"Do you really think this one can protect you?"

combat prep:

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Teryll, you're up first (actually, second, but Linzi waits to see what you do). You can either take one shot before he closes or just drop the bow and go at him now in melee. Your choice.

GM: This is based on the premise this man is not just hostile/aggressive, but armed and threatening as well.

As the man comes bursts in the door, Teryll nocks his arrow, and pulls back to full draw aiming the point in the center of the man's chest.
"I don't know what's going on here neighbor, but I'd suggest you back away. If you have grievance with her, find a guardsman and handle it properly."

@Signy, no, just that she is undead.

But the arrow throws his swing off and his sword glances harmlessly off of Teryll's armor.

Halden jumps out of bed and grabs his sword. He waves it around wildly before realizing that there is no threat in his room. Assassins already? I thought they'd at least wait until we left town to try something like this. Unless we're not the targets. Does someone want the mayor or that sword lady dead?

He quickly slings his bow and quiver over his shoulder, picks up his shield and moves into the hall. Thankfully, he was paranoid enough to sleep in his armor.

"Where are they? What the hell is going on?"

Sovereign Court

Well, Teryll, always finish off your enemies :)

Kern is just opening his door and casting Mage Armor when the assassin emerges from Teryll's room.

Halden will be opening his door next round. Anyone donning their armr hastily will be out three rounds after that. Signy, I wasn't sure by what you meant by "leather tunic." If that is just a shirt, you come out the same time as Kern, if that is your armor, then you come out three rounds after Halden.

"Your little tricks won't save you!" the thug growls as he goes after Teryll again.
"Boy, you should never leave an enemy behind you."

When Signy realizes what the key does she grins broadly at the halfing. "Oh you clever thing Linzi! I think there's a plan coming together now!"

With Linzi's help Signy is ready quickly. She strides out into the hall and declares "Oh no, we're not skulking out of here. There are a lot of very fine people who are being murdered. They're capable of defending themselves if they have a moment to get back off their heels and get ready. We're going to give them the space they need."

Signy walks back and forth along the hall as she talks to the others still getting equipped. "Here's how we do it. Ever hear of a Taldan Phalanx? We're going to form a wall and we're going to push through the building. The assassins won't be grouped together. they'll be spread out to get to as many people as they can as fast as possible. We're going to be acting as a group and we'll run them over as we come to them. Haden and Pyros, you're with me at the front. We're going three abreast when there's room. If it's too tight Pyros will fall back behind Halden and me because we have shields."

"Faerin, Teryll, Kern, and Linzi, you'll all be behind us with two jobs. First use the key to check each door we pass. No enemy will be left to come from behind. You'll also guard our flanks as we move forward. As we find people who are still alive and fit to fight they can join in."

"We're not dueling anyone one on one." Signy shifts her eyes specifically toward Pyros. "We're not fighting fair because these killers are not worthy enemies. When we come upon one of them, we concentrate all our effort on cutting them down and moving forward. If we come upon two of them, we all concentrate on cutting one down first, then the other. We will always deliver overwhelming force against a single enemy, then the next, and the next. We don't give them time to respond. we roll over one, then his friend, until the building is cleared."

I haven’t. I think I updated the HeroLab sheet on my computer, just haven’t copied it to the profile yet. I’m away from my computer right now, but I’ll get that done ASAP. Basically, increase Dex and Con by 1 (Which should give me an extra HP that I forgot about).

Signy comes up beside Pyros and lunges with her rapier at his opponent. As her strike lands, an odd, barely visible shimmer washes down her blade.

"When did she become such a tactician?" Halden wonders as Signy dictates her plan. "It's a plan. I'd prefer to take them out with arrows beford the get to us, but there might not be enough room."

Halden readies his sword and shield and moves into the hall. He runs forward and strikes at the sword lackey not being engaged by Pyros and Signy. He delivers a swift, forceful strike focusing on power over accuracy.

Teryll will pocket the potion found on the dead man earlier until it can be identified.

As the group engages with the enemy group, Teryll stands at the rear with his longbow at the ready.
Watching the inital contact, he raises his bow and aims for the swordsman being engaged by Halden alone.

No, I remembered to account for the Dex change in my Attack and AC.
