@Solicitor - great. NOW look what you did.
@Pril - agreed. Bless/Inspire courage don't seem to stack, for example. Also, I'm not convinced that debuffing is a great tactic either, now: some of the saves listed in the new bestiary look extremely high.
@Lobster - sounds good! I was pretty sceptical about making goblins into PCs so I am interested to see how you do it. I'm thinking Elf Paladin but have yet to make an alias or finalise a decision. (Full disclosure: I get easily distracted by the latest shiny thing so what comes out may be neither elf nor paladin)
EDIT @rutaskadis - hello! Are you thinking ranged fighter, or melee?

"Greetings my children, may the light of the Gods shine on you all."
I'll cover healing for this one - I don't know the system at all though since I haven't looked at it since the timewedonotname.
Now, help me out here. What church is Cardinal Borgia most likely a part of? I've only ever played him in historical games before - so which PF god is most like Jesu Christu?

![]() |

I was wondering about Abadar actually... the RC church tends more towards hierarchies and doesn't always emphasise the 'nicey nicey' side or religion.
(Be aware the RC church has been my specialist subject for years - I may get over-enthusiastic about this! :P)

Solicitor |

I'd say Sarenrae fits the compassion, humanity, and forgiveness part. Abadar might fit the less spiritual and more material minded types who wish to institutionalize laws, piety, and righteousness?
And Rutaskadis (god, that sounds Lithuanian), I'm fine with playing an arcane type. Bard, wizard or sorcerer - they're all dandy to me. Do play what strikes your fancy :D

![]() |

Yeah, I'm going for the classic cardinal - so concerned with canon lore and spreading the faith, but no stranger to intrigue and perhaps getting things done in a way that's not quite by the book...
Iomedae is too much on the fighting side I think.
Shelyn has the wrong focus...
Either Sarenrae or Abadar - the crossbow would be a better weapon for him, but what's more useful Medicine or Society? I feel like I want society but I can see Sarenrae being more useful (battle spells etc). Especially since I'll be a cloistered cleric rather than a warpriest.

![]() |

Society feels very appropriate for the urbane, worldly kind of churchman that I'm going for. I'm edging to Abadar on everything but spells, his seem... ok. Sarenrae's will have obvious combat utility so that I'm not just pumping cures all the time...

![]() |

Lets go with Abadar then - reading the players guide it seems like building up town infastructure etc will be useful and thematic. :)
Now can I get blunted crossbow bolts?

You're pretty close! It's been my online handle for many years, after the Latvian witch queen from His Dark Materials.
I'm going with a melee fighter, though I might take the Sorcerer archetype later on if I just can't resist being a caster. Working on the build now.

Wow. It's been a long time since I've read those.

I'm going to sit down with the rules tomorrow and plow through 'em. I'll be hosting a one-shot game on Friday for a couple of friends so one way or another, I'll need to know the basics.
And I'll sink my teeth into something arcane. Perhaps I'll find something neat that will break the mold. Yet another haughty elven invoker with a love for fireballs is not what these forums need.

So I'm still going back and forth tryna decide between the names Gull Peeper (my wife's suggestion) and Geffry (hard g as in Goblin, not a soft g like in Geoffrey), but I'm taking the Acrobat background and Thief racket. Additionally, I'm deciding between the Razortooth and Unbreakable goblin subtypes.
Background is pretty simple, like two years ago I was part of a circus either visiting Breachhill or somewhere nearby, my acrobat partner (Null Peeper or Geena, hard G) and I got really drunk and decided to live here forever, but in the morning they didn't remember and ran back to the circus, expecting me to follow, and regardless of my intentions, I did remember but woke too late to actually make a decision- the circus had left without me.
We performed a double act: I did amazing feats of acrobatics and they picked everyone's pockets, but these days, I'm left to do both tasks, and in the intervening years I have become not very good at either.
I'm answering the Call to Adventure to try and reclaim my life for myself, and stop living in the shadow of my circus days.
I'm leaning toward the Razortooth goblin subtype so I could two handed finesse attack while leaving a hand free to thieve and steal.

Wandering Wastrel |

OK, I have a name for my elf ranger.
Actually, I have several names. I was reading up on the new elf lore, or maybe it was there all along and I missed it, which says that "An elf keeps their personal name secret among their family, while giving a nickname when meeting other people. This nickname can change over time, due to events in the elf’s life or even on a whim. A single elf might be known by many names by associates of different ages and regions."
So this got me thinking - he has a first family name, and must have chosen another one reasonably quickly for the local community to know him by. Then there's a name for when he left to go exploring the world and got involved in the Goblinblood Wars, and then another name when he settled down in Breachill.
...so without further ado, I present Allandír Pelanor Wyvaron Beltirion Dinúvriel.
(the "ll" in the first name is pronounced like the Welsh form, with a "kl" or a "hl" sound)
Dinúvriel is what humans would call a surname. Beltirion is the name only his parents and immediate family know him by, and Wyvaron is the name he chose for himself as a child/adolescent (he's slightly embarrassed by this now and no longer uses it). The soldiers he fought alongside in the Goblinblood Wars know him as Pelanor.
Allandír is the respected artisan and woodworker who has been happily settled in Breachill for most of the last two decades, ever since the Goblinblood Wars ended.

Allandír Dinúvriel |

...and I have no idea why I posted just the link, rather than posting directly. Clearly I was thinking of this as a recruitment thread :/
@Solicitor: the abjuration focus powers look worth the price of admission alone. I look forward to seeing what you come up with :)
@Nell: I love the idea of being dishwasher and "occasional" bouncer, as well as the 'small town/big dreams' vibe - assuming she can get past what clearly seems to be a highly-developed sense of responsibility!
@Lobster: "Gull Peeper" is wonderfully surreal - as is the idea of biting someone while rifling through their pocketses :D
Really looking forward to this, it looks as though we have a great group!
In terms of advancement, I'm currently planning to go 'switch-hitter' - take a bunch of the archery feats plus quick draw and double slice to make anything that tries to engage him in melee seriously regret it.
I'm slightly tempted by the animal companion option, if only to give the rules a test-drive, but it's a lot of feats to make them optimal. Oh well. We shall see.

Ervan de Vobon |

Clearly, this guy is a work in progress. I will need to come up with a name and work out his background, but everything but his gear is pretty much in order. In the word document on my pc, that is.
I'll try to come up with a neat stat block that's PF2 appropriate as well.
And last but not least, if you got any spell suggestions - do tell! Right now, I'll be picking up Mage Armor, Gust of Wind and Magic Weapon.

Nell Harlow |

Added a family section to Nell's profile, since I imagine that's where most of her potential for personal drama and story hooks will come from (at least at first). ;)
Does anyone wanna have some backstory ties? Gull Peeper and I already discussed ours; I imagine that other Breachill locals might know Nell or each other, at least in passing.

![]() |

Going to be hard to tie Lucius' background to anyone apart maybe from Allandir (met before under different circumstances) or Pril (passing acquaintance from some time back?). He's older than norm, late 50's [in a world where Human's live to 90 apparently] so still reasonably vigorous and so forth but not a spring chicken!

Ervan de Vobon |

Boink. I need to sort out his gear (what does a wizard start with?!), but other than that, Ervan is ready to go. I think. I hope.
Oh, he's also a follower of Abadar(!), but he leans towards the democratic side of things. Blame Andoran ;)

Allandír Dinúvriel |

@Nell - works for me (athough Allandír is only 20+ years or so older than Nell, so is probably himself still a child in the eyes of her grandfather). Whether he knows Nell herself is an open question: he'd be a good source of war stories, if he ever talked about it (he's not proud of some of Pelanor's deeds). There are probably rumors still circulating that he arrived in town with armor and weapons that had seen much battle, but he's been a peaceful woodcarver for nearly 20 years.

Ervan de Vobon |

I figure since Ervan isn't a native (though, in a sense, he is a returning native), he doesn't know any of you. Still, he looks very much Isgerian, but dresses in a style more reminiscent of Andoran than Isger.
And yes, he's about as exciting and thrilling as oatmeal. That's by design. Isgerian design.
