So that's a no from Hamish.

A yes from Rokgurn.

Yes for Kasimir, yes for Omrax. Just need Yuri to weigh in and hopefully Bombshell can make the call as well.

In-Tier here.

Was the first time running Hamish in a PbP... certainly lends itself well to the RP side of his absurdity.

Thanks for running it TOZ, and putting up with all the talkative oddballs! (I mean good god, the Discussion thread is 35 pages!)

Now to find one more game to get to 13! =)

Liberty's Edge

CG Half-Elf Summoner 13

Oh, and important for the Chronicle...

Hamish will once again forgo his day job, to check another box on his Treasure Map.

This will be the third box... which nets him 150 gp x his level in found treasure! Arrrr, booty!

He will then spend 4 prestige points, to acquire another map to replace it, from a seedy fellow down at the docks!

So, please put 1800 gp on the day job (or however you want to mark that).
And mark 4 prestige points as spent.

Gold is a little low for this tier but being able to play as a seeker is always a pleasure.

Thank-you Grandmaster TOZ for stepping up and running both I and II.
It is greatly appreciated. :)

Chronicle link has been PMed. I'll leave this campaign active a bit, until I hear back from Crazy.

Hmm... 10 free prestige points?
The infamy grows!

Maybe the broken stone dome by the Wall of Names will become part of the display... little plaque and everything. =)

Thanks TOZ, chronicle looks good.

Hmm... wonder if the haversack can work as my portable hold? Will give it to the Seaward Gull!

Ok I take it back. Great loot here.

- Free 10 Prestige. Wow, that is good.

- Free Handy Haversack with free stuff on demand. Also really good.

My character's starting XP is one too high but I will just correct it manually. No need to update. The rest looks good.
Thanks.

I tried to go off of the previous chronicles for correct totals, but I wasn't completely awake yet. :P

Yep, minor mistake on mine too (Yuri started this adventure with 4 prestige, not 2) but I'll just correct it on the sheet.

And yes, great chronicle, esp for Yuri who can use every scrap of prestige he can get! (Because he was my -1 I had to do a lot of retraining over his life as I figured out how the game works. I remember there was one feat that I literally had for 1 adventure before I realized that it would be unworkable due to rules. I think it was something to do with drinking a lot... )

And I also agree that I've enjoyed this format for playing Yuri - I've rarely had a chance to role play with him much since his entire career has been in time-constrained table-top games.

If anyone wants to keep the party going for new shenanigans, Yuri 14.0 is game - and he has pounce now!

@Yuri - Hopefully we will find someone with the bandwidth to take on this party again. I am always up for a high tier adventure. :)

Retraining your character is half the fun. You can always spend gold to buy your items but getting different class levels or feats requires an in with the society. Always try to keep at least 5 PP on hand for a body recovery going forward. Almost every form of healing you can buy with gold but scrapping your goo-like remains out of the Astral plane after a bad encounter requires a good relationship with the home office.

Yep, I only let my prestige go below 5 once I had a boon for a no-cost body recovery. Fortunately I haven't had to use it yet.

Thanks again for running this for us misfits. Loved the interaction.

Just an outrageous tidbit I thought I would share with this group before we close up shop here. In another PFS game here that just started a player decided that he could have a summoned Janni at the beginning of the game at no cost to himself and without casting the requisite spells, making the appropriate bribes or making any Charisma checks. He had the unmitigated gall to claim that it was for flavor and role playing purposes after I lambasted him in the discussion thread.

Table Maps | On Hiatus |

We had a local incident with a player claiming his 1st level ranger had a dire wolf companion because “he fed it a lot”.

Who knows maybe it was the same person. :)

It was just so crazy it had to be repeated just like Mr. Dire Wolf Ranger.

At least at this table the characters are crazy but the players are sane. That is generally how I like to roll.

CG Half-Elf Summoner 13

I dislike summoning stuff in general... so never even consider things like Planar Binding =)

(Ya ya... the perfect type to play a Summoner =))

The Gull is pretty amazing in terms of flavor and is useful too so I think you did a good job at making the often complained about Summoner class very memorable. :)

Table Maps | On Hiatus |

I absolutely despise Summoners, so I only call on my brother's eidolon for truly challenging/dangerous scenarios.

Liberty's Edge

CG Half-Elf Summoner 13

It's funny how folks get certain biases against certain PC types.

I've seen so few summoners (old or new) in play, that I've never really had an opportunity to form a negative opinion... so its all been about how versatile they are for working in oddball character concepts... (and the Spiritualist now too!)

But, I know I, personally, really hate non-lethal builds, of any sort.

In 3.5, for some reason, it was elves. Any sort of elf, didn't matter what its class was.

Oh man, you'd hate my barbarian then. Still, he does switch to lethal in fights with outsiders and other enemies.

Liberty's Edge

CG Half-Elf Summoner 13

Hey, Torch deserved all the ire! =) That wasn't bias, it was common sense!

Table Maps | On Hiatus |

Presentation does inform quite a bit of bias, I have to agree. I had a Summoner at PaizoCon with an eidolon named Schmear, because that's what it does to enemies. But he had a dice tracker to streamline its eleven attacks a round and only ever targeted one enemy a round. So other players got to take actions in between it removing threats from the field.

Other players have had the unhittable, encounter wrecking bastions without a single concern for the rest of the party's experience. Those have been the vast majority of what I've seen.

Liberty's Edge

CG Half-Elf Summoner 13

I've only ever seen 3 summoners in play... one in pbp, two IRL... all of them unmemorable pouncing 'big cat' clones.

I've created 3.
One played all the way through the Crimson Throne AP, with a hunchbacked Igor henchman (who's hump switched sides every level (Young Frankenstein!)) with a single slam attack. One Hamish (with his ship). And the last an unchained summoner, with a small-sized carnivorous balloon (only lvl 6).

As I said, the class lends itself to some oddball character concepts =) Which I love it for. So all the dislike (which you are not alone in) makes me a sad panda.

But ya... its amazing how easy it is for one player to suck the fun out of a game... usually the power gamers or min/maxers, trivializing things, for me.

^That is so sad. It is a game and you should be thinking about how you can make the game more fun for everyone and not hogging the spotlight with your custom made war machine.

Not to mention that it is much more interesting to have characters that are somewhat unique with cool and interesting powers. I like characters with big tool sets so they can be played differently from adventure to adventure.

Liberty's Edge

CG Half-Elf Summoner 13

Far too common, in my experirnce.

But again, its all relative... so it might just be me.
