I remember I was waiting on Ben to get back to me with a number.
I reported it. Kioshi can you confirm that it is showing up for you?
Ben I can still report for you if you give me a number.
GM_Grandlounge |
Also If you still need the first part of the AP reported I can do that.

Lidia* |
Just to be clear, Lidia is leaving the party. She no longer feels the group shares her goals.
She is not going back the way she came. The troll inferred that there were other humans in this area, so she's continuing forward, hoping to find a settlement.
As a player, I don't want to drop this campaign. I love Lidia and I'm enjoying this campaign immensely. But I have to play her honestly.
Lidia had a dream of being a hero. She already is to a few people back in Trunau, on a small scale. But she thought she was on a grand adventure to slay giants and save the world. She thought she had found meaning in her life. But it turns out that although she thought she was on a noble mission, the rest of the group views her as a bloodthirsty maniac. She feels she's been soundly rejected, once again. Just like after the encounter with the river drake and just like at Redlake Fort.
Walking away is her natural response to most unpleasant situations. Ever since she escaped Urgir, Lidia has been on her own. She's not a joiner and she's never been comfortable around other people. And most people she's run into haven't particularly wanted her around. She's used to hostility from other people, and her response has always been to just walk away back into the woods.
I will continue to check this forum. If the GM is willing to interact with solo Lidia while she's on Operation Foundling, then I will continue to post for her. She's not going to try and hide her trail -- she's pretty sure no one is going to come looking for her.

Hey guys, love the RP!! :-D
But I really think that Kioshi should leave. I haven’t had a real feeling for him in a while and Lidia is awesome so she really should stay!
I definitely do not want to drop the game either and would bring another character of mine that I love to play and that fits well with the goals of the group.
So LIDIA PLEASE STAY!!!!! :-D
Lidia* |
Kioshi, Lidia leaving the party is not a matter of 'he goes, or I do'. She feels that the party as a whole no longer have the same common goals.
If you don't want to play Kioshi any more, then I suppose by all means you should switch to someone else. But it won't affect Lidia's decision to go.
Lidia is a teenager, has a charisma of 8, and was presented with a situation that echoed strongly with the seminal event of her life. Her primary character Loyalties include 'Protecting the Vulnerable' and 'Honesty'. So this moment was clearly more important to her than it was to the rest of the party, and while a more mature and centered person would have just swallowed her difficulties with Kioshi and moved on, or perhaps would have tried to communicate the reason he had upset her with more circumspection, she turned the dial straight to 11 and put all her emotional chips on the table. And that charisma of 8 ensured that she convinced exactly no one of her position. So she's got to make the dramatic gesture.
I hope you will stay in the game, and I hope that if you want to play Kioshi, you will not let this situation affect your decision too much.

So some things happened this weekend eh? I have not been to the game thread yet.
First, I love that you are making big choices with your characters. Sometimes that means deciding when to let go. This seems like a good time to do that.
Second, you are both obviously still welcome and encouraged to put some new characters together. Here are my only stipulations for backstory. This is a valley full of monsters in one of the deadliest regions on the planet. Your character is coming at level 8 thus, they are the 1% of the 1%. You should have a backstory that puts you in the valley and explains how you got to this level. Does that make sense?
Next figure out the value of the gear your PC had. That is how much you get. I have to do this because with ABP an extras you have been given I have no idea what is a fair amount of money.
Kioshi' Katsu |
Thanks a lot GM! Completely makes sense!
@Lidia: I definitely think the whole RP is great. I just am sad to see Lidia go. She is such a deep character!
I like Kioshi, he is my PFS -1 character but he currently is not really fun to play for me.
So I would really think it is best if your character stays! She is now following the trail and hopefully the others will get to her fast.
I will create a replacement character asap!

Lidia* |
GM, I wonder if there might be some confusion about who exactly the villagers are addressing here. Is it only the Lidia/Thyste subgroup, or only the Ben/Ulretha pack, or both? I know the situation is a little complicated right now.
GM_Grandlounge |
Sorry all, heat wave, power outages, second vaccine put me out of commission for a couple of days.
Anyone returning the Baby and anyone that is going deeper into the valley will be passing this village. You can be there or nearby if you like. Please indicate if you are at the town, waiting outside, participating but looking for a reward or whatever.
GM_Grandlounge |
So at this point, we have Ulretha several hours ahead.
A potential Thy-dia tracking them down.
Ben where are you? I assume, right now, you are ahead with Ulretha.
And Kiosh let's get some detail on a character so we can get you back in the game.
I would like to get everyone back in the game asap.
Little Ben PBP |
Correct. Ulretha and Ben are headed out for treasure. Ben does not care all that much, but does not want to alienate Gnasher and is going along with it.
I'm OK with the RP blitz by the two gals but I understand it would be nice to move the plot along too.
Lidia* |
Not sure why Ulretha & Ben would be 'several hours ahead' of Lidia & Thyste. Lidia left the troll house (does that make the baby our little troll house cookie?) first and walked non-stop with woodland stride in her favored terrain until she came to Grandma's village. And so unless lunch with Grandpa took several hours or unless the Time Lords intervened, I'd say Ulretha and Ben are probably not all that far ahead of 'the gals' if they are ahead at all.
GM_Grandlounge |
Lidia you said it has been hours since you left them. I was working with that. Woodland stride does not really come into play in this terrain. I assumed that you were suggesting that your conversation took a long time. I'm happy to work with a much closer timeline as your speed is faster than theirs is. It makes it easier for me.
Lidia* |
I'm sorry if I caused confusion. It's not important.
I'm ready to move on whenever.
Little Ben PBP |
Clarifications are just part of the game, and even more so for PbP. I think one of the toughest parts about being a GM is making sure everyone understands each other and what's going on.
GM_Grandlounge |
Ya we hit a bit of chaos but you all are great at rolling with things. It make life much better as a gm. I will get things going asap.
Azardra, the other Grandmother |
Hello GM,
I thought about the origin of the new character and would like to have a connection to the group.
So if it is ok for you I would like to play Ninna's other grandmother. So the mother of the the little baby's dead father.
You hear whispers, "Baby? "Could it be?" Ninna's?" for only a moment for the footsteps hasten toward you. A frantic grey hair warrior woman comes running out from the crowd. "I will talk to the." she ways is a firm voice. "You have my granddaughter and you are not giants so my daughter and son-in-law are dead." she chokes back tears. "May I have her?"
I assume that Ninna's grandmother lives near the village and heard of the group as well as her son's death! She started to wrap herself in her late husband's full plate armor and is now on the way to the group to confront them with the fact that she is going to go with them to kill those b*****s that dared to touch the last spark of her life! And she is willing to die for this cause of vengeance!
Below her profile.
Little Ben PBP |
I'm not worried about Lidia leaving as long as the htrotter stays. I'd hate to lose you htrotter! I'm sure any replacement character will have depth too. I'm thinking its just an opportunity for more creativity, not less.
GM_Grandlounge |
Azardra, to keep the timeline we are going with you having suffered several tragedies in the recent attacks. You lost your husband and eldest son in recent weeks. This is why you have been out scooting the last few days and explains why your husband no longer needs his armour. It will also allow the group to tell you what happened so we give you a bonding/RP moment to help build some groups dynamics.
Lidia* |
Psychics can wear full plate armor? I didn't think they wore armor at all.
Azardra, the other Grandmother |
They don’t care about armor as they casts psychic spells and don’t face somatic/material components. :-)
But she takes the full armor check penalty on to hit as she isn’t proficient.
Good thing that she’ll never make an attack roll anyway.
Ulretha |
It's one of the tricks for all Occult casters. They don't have the spell failure chance but aren't trained (occultists are trained in Medium, everyone else has Light, at best.)
So, as Azardra says, her spells will work but her attacks and skill checks are going to suffer massive penalties.
Little Ben PBP |
I will be on vacation Thus-Mon. I'm pretty good at keeping up while vacationing but there are two 10+ hour drives involved so I may not be able to respond promptly at times.
Ulretha |
Hey, guys, I'm going on a mini-vacation in a couple hours. I'll be back on Monday but wanted to let you know not to expect any posts from me in the next couple days. Bot me as needed.
Lidia* |
Gravity Bow on that bowstring Bloodtusk gave Lidia makes a big difference. I think this might be the first time I've crit with a ManyShot, and it's indeed kinda glorious.
GM_Grandlounge |
Cross country move is making posting harder then expected. I will try to move us along tomorrow if I have wifi.
GM_Grandlounge |
For the NPC Hildy is set as the combat NPC I had her sit a battle or two so you guys to feel out combat at this level and decide you want to use her. You can have any other NPC join you by setting it at the beginning of the day (mostly for my sanity and so I can pick the right spells for father).
Lidia* |
Obviously it's something we should all weigh in on, but Hildy would get my vote.
Azardra, the other Grandmother |
I would not like the NPCs to join the fight.
Little Ben PBP |
It is probably not necessary, but I too would like to see what Hildy can do.
Ulretha |
I wouldn't mind the NPCs as a contingency plan.
We pick one in the morning and they "activate" if one of us is knocked unconscious. That's a decent judge of if a battle is going against us. Otherwise, just assume they stay on the sidelines.
Thyste Fox-Tailed |
Ooooh, I love that. It doesn't make any sense narratively, but then, we're already chewing through giants as if it were nothing, what's a little more video game logic on top of that? "Yeah, your party's full. You've gotta wait for someone to get KO'd before someone else is allowed to tag in."
Lidia* |
From a roleplaying standpoint, is it likely Hildy would watch from the sidelines until one of us is knocked unconscious, then leap into action?
Ulretha |
It would if she's hesitant about fighting but in Loooove with one/some of us.
Or if she just doesn't want to fight but then feels compelled to when straits become dire.
It's like Bruce Banner in Ragnarock.
"I'm never going to become the Hulk again because I may lose myself entirely if I do!"
"Oh look a giant wolf" Hulks out.
