We have just finished up in the catacombs of wrath and are awaiting the return of the sheriff from Magnimar. Will write more later, off to play soccer.

Yes, straight up vanilla core Wizard... Herolab does that when you pick a school specialization.

Wow, it looks like I'm the only person who could use the longsword. I guess I'll keep it for now in case we need a magical weapon to overcome DR.

We do need to start selling the things we don't need so we can buy the things we do need.

I hate to do it, I think the partial automatic bonus progression would be neat, but I have too many games going on and I keep forgetting to make modifications based on that. So, alas, I will give up on my idea and go with standard magic items and armor. If I weren't such an absent minded professor I'm sure i could work it out but pulling too many strings right now to try and force it.

So, to be clear, scratch the ABP. The +1 sword is a +1 sword. However, the quality of weapons stays as I published (standard, expert, and masterwork). The quality of the weapons will add to the magic bonus. This will be a significant boost up front but loose its effects after a few levels.

Camil mentioned keeping the scrolls and wand. that leaves stuff, which I assume you sell, and weapons.

Longsword +1: Lavanor
Expert hand axe sell for 128
Alchemical silver dagger sell for 11.5
Tiny returning dagger +1 sell for 4250

Is this correct or does someone wish to keep one of these items?

Lavanor was mentioning picking one up, might as well just give that to him as well. Our heavy hitters need to be able to hit and 12gp just isn't worth it, might as well save him some gold.

With about 1k gold each, are there places to spend it other than the market bargains? MW Thieves' tools were perfect from there, but i'd like to add some formulas and maybe other items.

Most things are available in town. there are two potion shops, a stable, a black smith, an armory, and a general store. the market merely gives you the opportunity to find a bargain and/or find an item that would be otherwise too rare for such a small town.

Yeah, I didn't notice that we had found a silver dagger before I mentioned wanting to buy one so I'll keep it if no one else wants it.

Edit: Nice, I found a magic item in the bargin bin. Are there limitations on what we find? I don't want to break the game but I don't want to pass up an opportunity to set myself up with a nice item that I'll have for the rest of the game either.

As a group, are we going to be doing any crafting or will there not be time for that in this game? I don't think I've heard anyone mention crafting yet.

Choose what you want and if I think it is too much I will let you know. For example, you have 1000 gp, you could get a 10,000 gp item; what is that a +2 sword? No worries. Now if you pooled everyones money and bought a 60,000 gp item just to sell for 30,000 and then redistribute, I'd say no.

There will be down time. The plot gives moments where you can pick and choose your own path for a while before another seed is dropped.

In reference to Zandril's post in gameplay and the equipment quality rules. I calculated the cost of my sword using the core rules (80 for basic sword, 300 to make it masterwork, 8000 for +2 (+1 and keen). How does your expert and masterwork rules factor in? Is that a different "masterwork" categorization or does it replace it? i.e., should the cost have been 500 for masterwork instead of 300 or do I pay an additional 500 for a masterwork sword to start instead of standard). And then once I do that, is my +1 masterwork sword +2 to hit and +3 to damage?

yes, it should have been 500 so a +2 effective weapon would be 8500 plus the cost of the base weapon. So in your case 80+500+8000=8580/10 or 858.

I could buy one from the temple. Note that I have the Healing domain so I will pretty much always have at least one cure spell prepared at each level.

You could, but it's always better to have multiple healers. Note that my AC is garbage so if I get melee'd it's easy for me to drop. If I start dying and nobody can heal me...

Also, it would be a great help if someone else could carry the ropes and grapples. I'm currently at medium encumbrance, which hits my movement speed.

Zherxikas, I tried to give you some stuff to do earlier. Right now, you just arrived with the sheriff and you were privy to the discussion of the assault on Thistletop (read the last page of posts). There was a meeting between you and the Secretary of Security, Master Faust. In addition to any duties you carry out for the Pathfinder Society, you are to see if you can track down a Lyrie Akenja. She is suspected of murder and the last report ripped from a smuggler was that she was headed east of Sandpoint to study with some goblins. She was a failed member of your order and Faust thinks she will not stay in the wilds for long.
