I do have a question. How do you handle animal companions? I've already ran with them handled several different ways, and just want to know what to expect.
Also, it only just dawned on me to check faction cards after seeing Sulana not have a day job roll. Does anyone keep up with those at all?

GM supervillan |

You'll certainly see some variation in the way that 'pets' are managed at the table, I think because they can sometimes slow the action down, but also because GMs want players to have control over what are essentially class features.
I have pets act on their own initiative counts, and if I roll perception for the party I will also make rolls for pets. (I will occasionally deviate from this if, for example, I am GM'ing a face to face table with 7 PCs plus pets; but not in PbP where table time is not really a problem).
For animal companions, this means that they should have a default command that they will follow until given a different command - typically this would be using the Defend trick but it could also be something like 'Heel.' If the animal gets higher initiative than the PC, the animal Delays until it receives orders or it follows the default order.
I see you have an alias set up for your companion, that's good. I'll give it a look over before the action starts.
Regarding faction cards, I certainly use them for my PCs. My wife never bothers though. They're a nice addition I think. If you have any questions about whether or not a goal is fulfilled just ask.

Ok, everyone's checked in here so we're about to get started!
I do like to run a pretty fast moving game (by pbp standards) and will aim for at least one GM post a day, I'd prefer that you also aim for a minimum of one post per day. If you can't manage that (real life gets in the way for everyone sometimes, including me) please let me know here.
I will bot or delay you in combat if you have not taken your turn within 24 hours of it coming up. Please put a 'bot me' spoiler in your character profile if you have not already done so, giving at least basic tactics for combat. You can click on any of my PCs in my aliases to see examples. It can be as simple as "Boom Sticks rages and attacks enemies with his hammer, or if he cannot reach melee he throws a chakram."

Basically, we’re trying to recreate this:
Sarenrae vs Rovagug

The irony is that I usually prefer to play with the tempo of a few posts per day. But the last couple of months I have a lot of work and I often do not have time to participate so actively. Anyway, thanks for the opportunity to play Sarenrae, as it was important for Zeta as a character. I'll try to keep up. By the way, instructions for botting in battle are completed.

Anything you can find out about the Roidirans - the high priestess just gave you the two locations as leads, and named the White Feather monk as a specific individual to seek at the Two Rivers.

Sayuki could you fill out your PFS details please?

I need to get this game reported asap even though we're not finished. See this post from VC Hmm :)
I can get changes made to the report once the game completes.

GM supervillan |

Now I see that "craft: bread" day job I remember you posted details before, but I forgot because it was in the recruitment thread :)

GM supervillan |

Alas, I think I shall have to take that first roll (unless you have a reroll available by the time we get to day jobs of course).

GM supervillan |

Game is reported - pending updates once we actually finish (when I'll also do Online Support Program boon rolls).

Yep :)
IC Sulana feels terrible for letting everyone down. OOC I'm laughing my ass off because it's just too perfect.
I do think that will be Sulana's last attempt at diplomacy though. You guys are getting all the information (in spite of her best efforts), so she's going to give up on trying to help and just start drinking. Assuming she doesn't get kicked out of the bar...

![]() |

If people got kicked out of bars for spilling drinks, there'd be a lot of empty bars ;)
Now, if the lady you spilled it all over decides it's time for a brawl...

![]() |

I'm over here rolling at all of this. I relate on a personal level to Sulana's social anxiety, but seeing it from an outside context in a fantasy world, I'm laughing right out of my chair.

![]() |

A question: how do we feel, collectively, about our stealthier PC(s) scouting about 30-50 feet ahead of the group?
I don't like splitting the party, but I do like scouting, and boy howdy do I ever wish those weren't so often at odds with each other!

![]() |

I'm game. I would command Huntress to defend whoever is leading the scout. The dwarf, on the other hand, is NOT stealthy and would travel at the back.

![]() |

I was actually just thinking about how the animal companions, plus Sayuki's "Message" ability, would make this a more-likely party for scouting than most.
For reference, in her armor, Sayuki's got +7 Stealth and +6 Perception. Not amazing for a scout, but respectable for her level!

![]() |

I think the scouting idea is a good one. Sulana is also a +7 Stealth (counting ACP), but it would probably be better for her to stay in the back and provide covering fire if necessary.

![]() |

Sayuki's got that rogue talent that lets you fire a bow as part of the Initiative Roll, so I feel like that works well for a scouting situation.
"Oh, hell, they spotted me," fire bow, either take out the biggest threat or book it back to the party!

![]() |

Just to make it official, I'll be a forward scout. I'm thinkin'... 50 feet, taking stealth all the way, or 30 feet if not (and just hoping we Perceive enemies before they Perceive us).
More experienced folks, please feel free to tell me if I'm stupid here ;)

![]() |

Huntress will join, walking diagonally behind Sayuki, commanded to defend her.
I'm a relative newb, so for right now, it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, so I think it'll float.

Trying to figure out the balance of “scouting group is screwed if found” and “scouting group has too many people rolling stealth to NOT be found” is tricky! For what it’s worth, I’m comfy enough with it just being Sayuki and Huntress, but I want to let the rest of the party (Zeta and Jack if I’m not missing anyone) chime in!
