Unless decided differently here, Sayuki and Huntess will scout 50' ahead of the rest of you then.

GM supervillan |

By the way, are any of you planning on using these characters in the upcoming Gameday? This scenario has an optional encounter later that I'm happy to skip to make sure that we're done in time.

I signed up Sulana for the special, as I figured we would be done in time. You know the scenario, so I'm fine with whatever you decide regarding the optional encounter.

![]() |

This character's good. I'm only playing in one PF1E table, and I wanted to try investigator out.
My vote is whatever the group wants, lol
Good luck! If I didn't have my plate full I'd offer to play in your table!

I haven't even looked at any upcoming events. I am currently in three different PBP games, although one is just ending. If Sulana needs to wrap this up to get onto the game day I'm okay with that. Who knows, I might sign up for another one too.

![]() |

It's also not the worst thing in the world if we're not done in time. I'm sure I could swap out Sulana for a different level 1 PFS character without too much trouble. (The advantage of being low-level: characters are pretty interchangeable.) So I have no issues with running the optional encounter and seeing how it goes. I'm fine with whatever the group/GM decides.

I'm apologize, guys! But really, last 5-6 days IRL was so extremely mind-blowing (in good meaning, save God), that I even almost don't feel guilty. It would be disrespectful for all good vibes in the universe. But! Also, I understand that I'm the reason the game slows down sometimes, so I'll fix it ))

GM supervillan |

Sayuki is correct - the hostiles are in the chapel to the south. Adjust your moves if you wish Etna.

Glad I said something, then-- halfling movement is precious, and left as-is it would have taken you quite some time to get back on your short little legs :P

GM, is there any chance you could let us know in advance which questions require a skill check? I have no problem with there being consequences for incorrect answers. I also have no problem with roleplaying a failed skill check. (See pretty much the entire first half of this scenario.)
I just don't want Sulana to try and answer 'correctly' only to find out a diplomacy check was required and so nothing she said mattered. Especially since 'wrong' answers are punished. (There's probably a circumstance bonus of some kind, but depending on how high the DC is it might not matter. A 14 was a pretty good roll, and I felt like I gave a pretty good answer, but that clearly wasn't enough.)

GM supervillan |

I was just thinking about that earlier, and you're right Sulana. It's fairer to give skill checks upfront when there are consequences for failure.
The scenario is trying to get players to answer questions free-form, but then also asking for skill checks in some places. Although it does grant substantial circumstance bonuses, it still means that (for the first question anyway) success depends on the dice roll more than your answer. I've never liked that about d20 systems - or any rpg game system really.
I've got a little bit of leeway within the 'run as written' rule; enough that I can explain here how the encounter should run mechanically according to the scenario.
Roidira asks three key questions. You've already dealt with the first one, and she's put the second question. This one does not have a skill check that determines success; success depends on what you actually say. There is a skill check for remembering a 'clue' if it's needed. I'll post that in gameplay.
The third question also asks for a free-form answer from you, and success depends on what you say, not an a skill check.
So really it's the first question demanding a skill roll that diverges from a more reasonable and flexible challenge; the remaining questions do not demand skill rolls for success.

Thanks for the explanation, and for the understanding. The rest of the encounter does seem much more fair. (Free-form answers, with successful skill checks giving hints? That's fantastic.)
I apologize if I was being unreasonable. I am really enjoying this scenario; I just got frustrated with that first question.

GM supervillan |

Not unreasonable at all. I also thought that the way the dialogue was presented in the scenario text was odd, so you helped me find a way to present the encounter better. If I ever run this again I think I'll give the explanation above at the start of this encounter.

This is definitely an interesting encounter. It took me a while to figure out how Aulurius would react to seeing what could be a literal Goddess.

I wanted to deeply apologize for the absence. My wife and I just found out she is pregnant so it’s been a circus of good tidings over here. No excuse but I did want let you know I am back and ready for action.

So It Turns Out Your Favorite Fox Is In A Splint For 3 Weeks
What does this mean for this game?
We're winding down, so no reason not to finish! If any of you quite like Sayuki, let me know and she'll follow to your next game; otherwise, she'll be on the bench until my bandwidth improves.

![]() |

I thought she was lovely! I loved how you wove your backstory into this story. Right now all of my next games are for gameday, or a continuation of a three-part series. Aulurius is also going on the bench, and I'm playing a couple of 2E games. I hope you get well soon!

![]() |

I hope you heal quickly. Like Aulurius my next PFS games are all for gameday, but I had a lot of fun playing with Sayuki. It would be great to play together again sometime.

![]() |

I'm involved in a couple of non pfs games right now, and work is crazy right now, so I will be benching Bahram as well as Eranhu for a time. I enjoyed playing with all of you guys though. Hopefully we can all connect again some time.

It was super fun to play with her. I'm looking to get into a game-day cause I wanted to make sure we would be done with this one first.
Sorry about the splint too.

GM supervillan |

That's a wrap folks! Feel free to continue RP in the gameplay thread. Chronicles should be done by the end of the weekend.
I've enjoyed playing with you all. Feedback is always welcome, here or via pm.
Success conditions
Primary success is achieved if at least one of you drinks the waters of enlightenment and reports back to High Priestess al-Sahba.
The secondary success condition is met by achieving a high level of 'clout' (a hidden measurement of influence) with the high priestess, or by viewing at least four visions at the pool. You achieved the secondary success, so you get full PP.
Sayuki, I hope you get well soon and I look forward to your GM run in Gameday!

Thanks for GMing this for us! I had a blast. (Sulana had less of one, but it's good for her to get out of her comfort zone every once in a while.)
Assuming we got at least 100 gold for this scenario, Sulana will take that money earned plus what she had already and use her 10% discount to buy a Masterwork +2 STR Composite Bow for 540gp.

![]() |

Yes, that was awesome guys! Thanks GM Supervillan! Sulana, Alurius, I will miss you. With any luck we will run into one another again. It was nice to start my first two pfs pbp with some of the same group. Sayuki, Etna, You two were lots of fun. I hope to see you guys on a boat somewhere in the near future as well.
