Okay, looks like the following is the group's choice:
STARFINDER SOCIETY PEGASUS TIER 2
Medium explorer
Speed 10; Maneuverability good (turn 1); Drift 1
AC 12+2*; TL 12+2*
HP 55; DT —; CT 11
Shields basic 40 (forward 10, port 10, starboard 10, aft 10)
Attack (Forward) light laser cannon (2d4)
Attack (Port) light laser cannon (2d4)
Attack (Starboard) light laser cannon (2d4)
Attack (Turret) coilgun (4d4)
Power Core Pulse Green (150 PCU); Drift Engine Signal Basic; Systems basic medium-range sensors, crew quarters (good), mk 1 duonode computer, mk 2 armor, mk 2 defenses; Expansion Bays cargo hold, escape pods, science lab, tech workshop
Modifiers +1 to any two checks per round, +2 Computers, +1 Piloting; Complement 4–7
Captain: Izzip
Engineer: Kultha
Gunners: Mega (+ Kat5e, when available)
Pilot: Soryn (*2 ranks)
Science Officer (when available): Kat5e
You may replace one weapon using Mega's mining laser, if you wish, and you have Kultha's Hero of the Stars should things go south.

Slotted boons staying the same.
I'm good with the mining laser replacing the Forward light laser, if Mega wants to slot it.

![]() |

Okay then, Mining Laser is replacing the forward light laser. The boon which came from Gameday also does not say it is one use, so I imagine I can continue to slot that boon as many times as I want in the future.
Range short 5 hexes. 2d6 dmg.
Burrowing special property. A weapon with this special property fires a highly focused beam of energy that can slice through shields with ease. Burrowing weapons are always short range and cannot fire at targets outside the first range increment. When a burrowing weapon’s beam hits shields, apply half of its damage to the shields and the other half (rounded down) to the target vessel’s Hull Points. If any of the damage applied to the shields depletes those shields, apply the remainder to the ship’s Hull Points as normal. If a burrowing weapon deals damage to a ship with a damage threshold, halve that threshold before determining if any damage is dealt.

Can I use the science officer scan action out of combat?

Forgot to add in a purchase, if it's too late just let me know.
I wanted to pick up an augmentation, biotech, Pressurized Lungs for 130cr.

I will be leaving today until monday on a short trip. I should be able to post at a regular schedule still, probably in the mornings.
However, due to the nature of the trip, some posts may be nonsense, poorly thought out, badly coded, or worse. I'll try to keep it tight to keep the game moving, but just wanted to warn you/ apologize in advance.

Just a sidenote - space combat can be a real chew in play-by-post... but am enjoying this one (and the game) immensely - the crew interplay is fun - kudos to all.

![]() |

This is one of the more fun Starship combats, and also one of the harder ones. DM who ran 1-13 for our group said that was the hardest Starship combat ever and our group lost. 1-3 has to be the 2nd or 3rd hardest as there is one other hard Starship combat in season 1, not including specials. The downside about Starship combat is that it is almost always boring for anyone not the DM, Gunner or Pilot.

Thanks, everyone! I'm one of the weirdos who actually enjoys starship combat, but it might be because I GM pretty often. I do agree that the roles that basically just provide bonuses can be a little dull (minus engineer, which is a pretty dynamic role) without active RP.
I actually wrote 1-13, and my developer asked me to make that starship fight excruciatingly hard. @Mega, did you play at Aerondor's table? He played at my table when I first ran 1-13 and just barely squeaked out a win, which prompted him to bring up a lot of his starship combat experiences. He mentioned this fight as one of the toughest starship combats in Season 1 (which surprised me, because when I played it we rolled well and kind of steamrolled it, but now I'm seeing what he meant).

![]() |

Sorry about the delays posting, I am back now.

![]() |

Yes, Aerondor's table.
Say the wording of the Second Seekers boon, seeker of knowledge says I can only replay one game per tier. Is this per character, or per player? Cause if per player that means I used up my tier 1 replay any scenario. If per character, then I can replay another tier 1 scenario, but with a different character.
Also, this is the week of origins, so I'm expecting people to disappear. I was suppose to go as I scheduled my vacation week around it, but our driver took a break from D&D. Go figure, the one year I actually have a job where I can schedule vacation early enough, because I've been there long enough and actually look up when Origins is before I have to decide on vacations and no driver. The month May came around and still our driver is on break from D&D. Luckily I didn't sign up for any badges until I was sure our driver was going to show. Last year I could have gone, but I didn't look up when Origins was before I scheduled my vacations.
Edit: On another note, how do I get in on writing modules? Do I have to be a part of Paizo, or are there submissions on the site somewhere?
Edit: Found the other scenario I played where our group almost lost the Starship combat. 1-27, King Zeros of Star Azlant, wow Christopher Wako, you like writing up tough Starship combats.

I've got mixed feelings on starship combat. It's hard to engage all the players for a singular entity (the ship), they are least made enough roles that everyone usually gets to do something. Granted Pilot and Gunnery are the most active, and Gunnery lets you use BAB or Pilot skill so it's open to more classes. I'm not sure you can get much better without having fighter-class ships so more people can have a ship-character.
I still dream of a system that really engages the 3D aspects of space combat, but without mini's I'm not sure how it would happen.
The in-character banter has really kept this fight more engaging too. Nice RP everyone.

The Jadnura faction boon lets that individual PC replay scenarios, not your entire PC portfolio.
Yeah, I expect a slowdown this weekend from Origins. No problem, we can take the weekend easy.
There's no one way to write for Paizo. I got into it by doing well in their RPG Superstar contest (my brother, who is playing Izzip in this game, won their final season; he also has several scenarios [e.g. SFS #1-34 Heart of the Foe] and a module out through Paizo), and have been doing work for them ever since. Some get gigs via 3PP, others through open call or talking to developers at conventions.
And yeah, that was another one where I was asked to whip up a doozy of a starship combat. I like writing starship combats that challenge players ^_^

Quite a bit of travel on the docket coming up: this weekend I'll be going to Michigan for a wedding, then on the 2nd I fly to Ireland for a two-week performance tour through the 15th. I'll have my computer and will do my darnedest to keep up with all my games, but if posting becomes brief, slows down, or stops during this timeline that's why. Sorry for the inconvenience!

![]() |

What do you play Skeemo?
For the group, should we ask when she is well enough to travel? And maybe spend another day or so with the husks to learn everything we can about them to bring back to VC Arvin? Unless there's nothing much else here.

I'm good with the info gather and escort plan.
Just an FYI, I'll be heading out on vacation Sunday (6/30) and gone until Friday (7/5). I most likely won't be able to post while I'm away, bot me as needed. I'll add some botting short-cuts into my info.

Gathering some more intel, then escorting Klarima makes sense.
Enjoy the travels & vacation folks - safe travels :)
