Child Online Privacy and Protection Act I think. The popular interpretation of the law is basically you can get the pants sued off of you if it even looks like it kinda might be targeted at kids, whether or not you target audience is that demographic. Basically, it sounds like parenting by legislation, which is something that I think is not only stupid, but bound to backfire.

Anyone have trouble reading the Talgo? I like how it emphasizes a sense of offness, but the whole thing is mute if no one can understand it. I know it might take a little more effort to discern the words, I just don't want it wholly unintelligible.

I wanna try something. See if a thing is doing what I think its doing.
See, I agree with this, and the first time I used Talgo, it was indeed for a demon familiar. But Talgo has three settings, so it seems appropriate that Angel-speak descends from a high place, while demons rise up.
Experiment!

Well, Arianna's kinda holding for the moment based on Mondath's answer to her question. The problem is I, the player don't want to abandon the others, but I'm not sure if Arianna will stay and fight. Brax is certainly pushing her that way, but... I dunno. I was not expecting this pop up at the beginning of a fight. Arianna's going to be really shaken up by this no matter what happens.

Truly OOC 1 v Party fights are generally Ez so i wouldn't worry about it unless Mondath has something crazy up her sleeve I'd wager Eska has this in hand by herself. So I'd say make the best character choice for yourself. That being said...
Eska having the situation in hand, but Arianna having a crisis of faith.
Make the right choice Ani-.. I mean Arianna

Who was that said if you want to write a compelling story, you make a likeable character then start twisting the knife?
One of the reasons I love PbP is that I like to write and I believe that it has helped me get better, much better, over the years I've been playing. I can't tell you how happy I am to be playing in two games where the GM is having a ball helping me write what I'm hoping is a good story. I know I'm gushing, but this has me giggling in glee. :D
Okay, now to get into Arianna's head, does she run or does she fight?

Likewise. I'm really enjoying helping fill in Arianna's forgotten past in the most tragic and sinister ways I can think of. I was a little worried I might cross the line, given I don't want to write anything about your character's past that you wouldn't agree with, but thanks for letting me kind of just run with it for now. Excited to see how it ends up turning out.
And! This villain and her interactions with Arianna has also allowed me to communicate setting, history and character lore when the adventure had been light on it/more oldschool DnD otherwise.

Before anything else, I would like to apologize if my recent posts have caused undue discomfort or have brought back bad memories of similar events happening to those that are/were close to you. I honestly didn't think about how this might affect people who have had loved ones commit suicide or have thought about it themselves, despite the fact that I myself fall into both of those camps. I am fine with the scene, but then again, I wrote it.
Having said that, I was never intending to have Arianna kill herself. I was hoping that Brax or James would intervene, and was relieved when Brax did so, even with the low rolls. I would have lived with it in either case since those would have been the consequences of my actions, but it is nice to know that I read Brax's character right. :D
This brings me to some things that have crystalized in my head over the past few days regarding Arianna's character and the arc I have in mind. There are some things that are strictly internal to her character, but there are other things that I need y'all's help with because they involve how other characters see her.
One of the themes that has emerged is the nature of cowardice and bravery. It's been something that's been developing since the dragon attacked Eska, but it's definitely become more concrete with her in the more recent encounters where she feels that she is a coward because she runs from anything she can't fight. at the same time, she's overcome her fear to try taking on an ogre singlehandedly and fight a dragon despite her being terrified of it. She'll be reckless at times, going off on her own to scout ahead or putting herself in danger to save someone. This one's almost a purely internal thing and really depends on how Arianna responds and grows to the challenges she faces.
Another theme that seems to be cropping up with Arianna is truths versus perceptions. This isn't just Arianna seeing herself as a monster, though her actions and reactions to remembering who she was point towards her not being a monster. This is also a question of nature and nurture. Arianna was raised to be a zealot, then raised again to be an earnest and hard-working young woman. I think a good chunk of this is going to be her reconciling how she sees herself with how others see her and what she actually is. Again, this one's mostly internal to her, but it could be fun to play around with this one with some of the other characters.
The next theme that I want to explore is that of redemption, forgiveness, and grace. This one is a little harder to explain without explaining something about myself. I am a christian, and part of my beliefs is that we cannot do enough good to erase the sins we have committed, only the blood of Jesus can do that, and that was given by the grace and mercy of God. Since Jesus died for our sins, we are forgiven and only need to accept that we are sinners and that we need to be forgiven to receive that grace. I want to look into and explore the nature of grace and forgiveness, especially with how the dynamics of this group are playing out. This is something that is external to Arianna, and I need your help to make this a compelling story. I guess what I'm really asking you to do is to look into your characters and their motivations and see how they will react to the revelation that Arianna was a member of Tiamat's cult and one with the kind of fervor that would attract the attention of a woman like Frulam Mondath. After that, see if they could forgive Arianna for it or not.
Sorry that this is a bit long winded. One of the things that hooked me on tabletop RPGs was the ability to tell a compelling story with others. I consider myself a writer and all of this was get my thoughts down and enlist y'all for help in making this work. If ya'll have things in mind that you want or need Arianna to be a part of, let me know. I'd be more than happy to work with you and even help brainstorm.

I appreciate you taking the time to write this. I was going to mention something along those lines and am glad you came to this yourself. Trying to tell compelling stories is great but we need to be mindful of how these things can affect other people especially without forewarning.
As a collaborative story we need to make sure the environment is safe for everyone as issues like suicide and mental illness are real struggles.
EDIT: You certainly have put a lot of thought into the themes of your character hoping to continue on and seeing how she evolves.

Thanks Adam. I had felt a little uneasy about the topic coming up, and I'm glad you're speaking to it here. Never know when sensitive topics like suicide may cause unnecessary stress for other players.
Regarding Arianna as a character, I think we'll see her naturally develop over the course of the adventure, just as she has so far, whether that's through interactions with Brax, Met, James, and Eska, or with named NPCs. Already we've seen her come from what she was when Greenest was under attack - frightened, yet very heroic and bold - to facing her past all at once and ending up near-catatonic. How she develops from here is ultimately up to you, and could go several ways. The important thing is to make her the character you want her to be: one that you enjoy playing and writing as.
...
Hoping to continue our game this evening, but I believe we're waiting on Brax's response.

Adam, thank you for taking time to address this. I can't put it any better than what Eska's handler and Red already have but I will also add that stepping up to the plate like that took a lot of courage.
On PbP, I don't think I can recall many who put the effort you put into your character in the way of development and I'm curious to see where her story takes her, but I'm also curious about everyone else's story, too. I'm really enjoying the collaboration that all of us are putting forth in an effort to help all of our characters on this journey and how Red's been setting the stage for that to happen. Kudos to all of you!

GM Red was the one who pointed out the potential issue to me. I thought that I needed to offer a public apology to everyone after I realized how it could affect someone. I've had 25 years to learn how to cope with what my dad did, and I've moved past when I had those thoughts myself, but not everyone has had that time or has moved on, and I didn't think about how it could be viewed. I didn't want Arianna to die, though I'm not going to whine if it does happen since more than likely it'll be something dumb I do that does her in. I thought it was a natural step in the way things are progressing with her and the others.
I'm so looking forward to how everyone develops from here. It'll be interesting to see how James reacts to this at least. I'm looking forward to seeing how everyone's characters develop because this is an awesome group of players and the characters are just as great. I have some ideas on how things will go, but I'm going to keep those to myself.
And thank you RowynStarr, I try to make all of my characters ones that people enjoy seeing and playing with. I'm happy to hear that Arianna is one of them. :)

Eska positively wouldn't have unless you're using Rakzue's sword. Brax seems like the type.

Then did we ever get Raakuze's sword back from Falros? The half-elf we rescued.
Figured I'd mention it here since I can't seem to find a way to work it into events in-charcter. Her sword, her dagger, and Eska's Stormfang all have the same maker's mark. Brax might recognize it as a dwarven style maker's mark if he looked at the dagger closely enough when he tossed it.
