Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9Crud
Bugface joins in helping with the main frame.I won't bother rolling since it seems they have it.
Once online Bugface tries to bypass one of the firewalls.
Computers: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24
GM Aerondor |
what: 1d3 ⇒ 1
You start to feel rather unwell (-2 to int, wis, and cha checks and skills). Your skin also starts to itch as... tiny feathers start pushing through your skin. Not that you can see it through your armor but..
You realise the firewall requires a scanner to bypass, one that will scan for izgulian DNZ.
But with no real time pressure, you can search the room, eventually you'll find one.
It takes a bit of work to get it connected. But nothing too taxing for this team.
You can make the check with a take ten
Then there is just the firewalls. With the help of the DNA scanner and (grim, but starfinders are practical) the arm from the tub, you easily fool the computer. There are a pair of log entries.
(added to slides).
Just going to fast forward this bit to get you to your other game.
Pangea-Beta |
"So, the arm in the tub might be the mother... and then Prima one of the beings we encountered somewhere? The kids might be the ones in the pool?"
Pangea will try to help if still needed.
Did we explore the two private areas on the computers?
"Do we need to go explore the trash collector for the antidote?
Hey, wait a minute, you guys look... errr... unwell.
Let's just report where it might be and let others do that if needed."
GM Aerondor |
The two private areas on the computers are where you got those diary entries from
Anything else you want to do? No sudden desires for Pangea to go sun-bathing?
Pangea-Beta |
Pangea checks its tan-line... hesitates, but then sadly decides not to risk radiation.
"Should we bring some remains of the mutated Izalguuns back? And the arm? I imagine those are Prima and spouse and children. Their people might want to purify, cleanse, burn or otherwise perform rites for them... to help through the Boneyard."
If possible, Pangea will make a loop back in to gather the remains or main parts or such, to return to their people.
GM Aerondor |
There is one that retreated into the depths of the pool, so going back there might end up provoking another battle...
Pangea-Beta |
But Pangea decides that it does not know about the burial rites of these people: "That may be offending to them... so let us just leave?"
Sev+ |
"If there is the possibility that we can recover and restore one of the izalguun, we should so so." suggests an altered Sev. "As I, too, and possibly some of you appear to have been altered, we now share in the izalguun's plight. Logically, were the fortunes reversed, we would wish the izalguun to do the same for us."
Pangea-Beta |
"There is the one in the bathtub... that would be the mother, I imagine?"
Bugface |
{We could alert the izalguun that there are some of their people down here and let them decide if they wish to return for them. With the proper equipment.}
Pangea-Beta |
Pangea is ready to leave the arm here, and leave, and report to the Izalguun about what we found out, including the fact we fought mutated ones - giving the info' from the diary entries - and there is probably one "child" left.
Explaining we never brought bodies back because we do not know what their funeral rites and such are, but are willing to help retrieve them if this is needed.
But if some want to keep on exploring or such, Pangea will go along with that.
Sev+ |
"I believe that the yellow box with the needles that Viper recovered is the 'cure' referenced in the log entries." notes Sev. "We may be in need of it ourselves, soon--assuming that it is compatible with our own physiologies."
[b]"I suppose there is a certain logic to allowing the izalguun to administer this 'cure' to their own.[/ooc] Sev concedes.
Although there a still areas on the map, I don't recall any known entry ways that the PCs have not explored. Unless I am mistaken, then Sev is prepared to depart with the 'Tear' and the 'cure' and notify the izalguun of the 'survivors'.
Pangea-Beta |
Beta would vote to let the last mutant live, and not hunt it down, in case the Izalguun want to try and save it.
So, Beta would be happy to move out.
GM Aerondor |
You head back to the ship, tear carefully in hand. The trip back to Absalom is quick and without event. Once there you are quickly ushered into the presence of the First Seeker. You have never seen her quite so happy.
"This is marvellous. Surely with this, we can breach the Godshield, and rescue our fellows who have been trapped. Thank you so much. Your performance in this critical task was amazing. Certainly you are top of my list for the next difficult mission."
Anything you want to tell her in particular?
Bugface |
{Thank you First Seeker. Bugface is happy to help the trapped Starfinders. We did find some odd things.} Bugface then relays what happened to the izalguun. {If anyone decides to go in for recovery, be sure they are ready for the radiation.}
Pangea-Beta |
"Yes, just be very careful in there... look at those devolved Starfinders we have!
And try to be kind with the surviving mutant."
Pangea-Beta |
Hearing Viper 6 talking about making you grow things you don't want, Pangea mutters: "Sounds like my aunt's garden..."
