Atium of Varg |

Atium looks over to the stone posts, and points with his hammer.
Let's go over there. Maybe those that want to read words with X's and J's (Not V's like Ulfen culture) in them will find something interesting . I will watch for dangerous things and smash the bee-vee-zuz out of it.
Atium doesn't really "look" for danger. He's nearsighted. Instead, he moves to positions where he's more vulnerable than the others. Hoping any danger jumps at him vs the others.

Survival, tracking: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (10) + 25 = 35 (+4 if scent applies)
Aishe looks around the ground a bit, and sniffs the air. He eyes the cloud patterns too, as if willing them to reveal their secrets so he can track in that environment. But that is not yet to be.
”We go in through the top I guess.” He takes out and checks his crossbow as he considers Vanyan. ”I say we go in now. We’re here. Let’s go.”
It looks like there's water between us and the pyramid. If so Aishe will fly as well, and help Vanyan ferry people to the top of the structure.

Vinas uth Antimanes |

"Aye. I agree, let's just go in. Though maybe we do a lap around the perimeter first."

Aishe shrugs at Tessenarin's and Vinas's suggestion, "I could go."
He'll ready himself, begin flight, and fly low over the water, taking what cover he can. He'll make a wide circuit of the temple structure, and get ever closer. Eventually, he'll fly up to the top and take a gander there as well.

Vanyan Kaleseder |

Vanyan waits to see what he sees or what others find out.

![]() |

Scouting ahead Aishe spots a strange huge creature circling around the pyramid. Creeping around a tree it doesn't appear to be the dragon. It looks to be animated in a partial state. The creature’s head is fully animated, but its body is atrophied and dangles from its neck. Crusted with rock, this immense skeletal figure flies swiftly through the air, strange gasses clinging to its nightmarish form.
Picture in the maps.

Aishe Danior |

Knowing better than to fight something like that alone, Aishe swiftly returns to the group and reports what he saw.
"I'll get its attention, and we can pile on when it comes to kill us." He again checks his gear and heads out as soon as folks are ready.
When we've found decent ground for a battle, he'll start by shooting the undead thing to draw it's attention.
Crossbow: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (3) + 20 = 23 damage: 1d8 + 17 ⇒ (8) + 17 = 25

1d20 + 18 ⇒ (17) + 18 = 35 Know (Arcana? something else?)
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (16) + 16 = 32 Know (Religion)
What the hell is that?
Vanyan calls the party back to him and casts some shorter duration spells, hoping that they might help in the battle to come.
Life Bubble on all (about 5.6 hours or so), Fire Seeds, Extended Barkskins (Atium & Vinas), Vagic Circle Against Evil (Atium).

![]() |

Vanyan recognizes the undead as an incomplete tzitzimitl. Resistance to weapons unless they are bludgeoning and good aligned. Immune to cold, electricity and resistant to fire and most spells. Their bites drain energy and tzitzimitl are able to easily pass along curses and contagion. Though the neat things about tzitzimitl's are that they create eclipses, causing those within darkness feel extreme coldness and they are able to change light to dark. Positive effects convert into negative energy on them.

Vanyan Kaleseder |

"What do I think that is? A titsimitzi?" Vanyan can't believe what he called it, nor what he explains about the creature but is probably glad for the Life Bubble, just in case.
"So yeah, we gotta get through that or sneak by it, but not sure we're good at that."
If we intend to war upon the guardian, Vanyan will open it up with a Blessing of MuthaAraznin' Fervor and he will keep at range.
With this blessing, you call your allies to move forth and empower them to conquer and become victorious. Each round for the duration of this spell, each of your allies can choose one of the following bonuses for that round at the beginning of its turn (their choice).
Increase its speed by 30 feet.
Stand up as a swift action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
Make one extra attack as part of a full attack action, using its highest base attack bonus.
Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.
Cast a single spell of 2nd level or lower as if it were an enlarged, extended, silent, or still spell.

Atium of Varg |

As soon as the last spell is upon him, his demeanor changes to enthusiasm for the battle.
Yes . I will call upon the will of Arazni to bless this weapon enough to really hurt that thing. I am ready to take the brunt of it's wrath. Protect the others.

Vinas uth Antimanes |

"Indeed. Thanks for the boost. Let's do this."

Atium of Varg |

Atium slams his hammer down into the ground, causing the spell it stored to blaze forth empowering him (1st level Divine Favor). He also commands the belt to come alive and grab his adamantine warhammer off his back. with two hands on his Grayflame and his monkey tail on the other warhammer, he's prepared in case the creature tries to disarm him.
He says the special words and begins raging, and the wings on his boots start to flap.
Shakra Flying Monkey!
I know the tail can't wield the WH as an attach, but I'm pulling it out so it'll act as a quickdraw should I get disarmed. AC 32 (BoF to AC and attack) HP: 211 DR 3... oh yeah, and he's a flying monkey! [

Vinas commands his shield to carry him into the air as he smites the undead while Vanyan curses it with his wayfinder. Aishe makes quick work of the undead as he shoots it down from the sky before it has much of a chance to react. Three killer crits did the trick.

Atium of Varg |

Atium advances on the hideous creature. So large as to daunt even the Ulfen armorer. Then three crossbow bolts whizzz bye. Plunk. Plunk. Plunk.
Deadly accuracy and with enough force that the arrows disappear into the creature -fletchings and all due to the force of the attacks.
YES MY ULFEN BROTHER! YES! That is the level of skill that all through Golarian would drop their jaw in awe and appreciation.
YOU MAKE YOUR SOON TO BE FORMED CLAN PROUD!
And Atium swings back around and gives Aishe a strong hug (fatigued as he drops out of rage). His monkey belt tail even reaching up over his body and giving the Crossbowman a gnoogie on the head or helmet.

Vanyan Kaleseder |

Vanyan moves over to clap Aishe on the back. He’s never seen shooting like, no even from Aishe.
”Wow, that was pretty good. Pretty good. I would call it Ulfen, but it was better than that, no offense,” he cheers.
Vanyan will pick through the brains and bones of the creature, with Detect Magic, and then be ready to enter the building.

Atium of Varg |

I would call it Ulfen, but it was better than that, no offense.
To which Atium replies, No offense taken Twink. We Ulfen know our place among all things.
To Atium, that place is high- like the gold standard, but he intentionally LEFT that culture as he could not be the man he is today had he stayed.
He smiles, as he is happy at who he is, and where he is right now.
Not all great things are Ulfen. I am very glad of that. You all have shown me great things. Before meeting you, well... before dying and then meeting you... I only had Dotort Chargers as the best thing the Southerners had to show me.

Aishe Danior |

Aishe beams, thankfully praying to Abadar (now that he's thinking clearly again), for his many gifts.
"Aye, that's the best I've ever been." He grins widely.
"Maybe I've peaked." He adds levelly, tempering his joy a bit.
He replenishes his supply of arrows and, before his flight gives out if possible, ferry's people to the top of the structure.

A stone building stands upon the flat top of this pyramid. A wide doorway stands in each of the building’s four walls, and a large hole in the floor of the building’s interior allows access into the pyramid below.
The drop down isn't ar as you descend into the interior of the pyramid. A wide walkway encircles a large opening that leads to a larger chamber below. A great, withered tree extends from the floor far below through the opening and rises just through the broken ceiling above. The tree’s dry, brittle branches reach out and meld with the stone, which seems to be the only thing that keeps the dead tree standing. A hallway extends out from each corner of the walkway into rooms beyond. Alcoves in the northern and southern walls hold staircases that lead to the floor below.
The branches of the kumaru tree periodically shudder, reacting to the energy within your obols.

Vanyan Kaleseder |

1d20 + 26 ⇒ (20) + 26 = 46 Perception
Vanyan sets up at the north-left door, thinking to start there and work our way around.
"This way. Let's leave a clear shot for Deadeye Aishe," Vanyan says, keeping out of Aishe's way.

Vinas uth Antimanes |

"Hard to argue with that plan." Vinas raises his shield and joins Vanyan at the door.

![]() |

A large stone table stands in the center of this room, with a stone chair at either end. A pair of stone tablets rests on the table, each covered with writing that glows with a dim light. A large mirror hangs from the center of the north wall, reflecting the table and its tablets. The corpses of several warriors wearing torn jaguar pelts over damaged armor lie scattered about the room. A doorway in the southeast wall leads out of this room, with Intricate characters carved into the wall above its lintel.
Vanyan begins to hear the distant shouts of soldiers from all around the room but yet cannot see any.
You each get a round of actions.

Atium of Varg |

Atium's monkey tail whips his adamantine war hammer around to his dominant hand ((the Greyflame he was holding shifts fluidly to his right( off) hand)).
Atium chucks the heavy instrument of both destruction and creation at the large mirror.
Grunting with the effort and unusual style of attack.
UMMPHHH!
No idea how you want this improvised ranged attack to go, so I'll just roll a D20..... come on nat 20!! Make this a story!
stupid move: 1d20 ⇒ 3 Thrown Adamantine War Hammer.
the other end of the spectrum...
And the tether at the end of the Warhammer clings to Atium's hand and bracers, causing the throw to be abbreviated. The WH leaves Atiums hand like a dying quailfluttering and going only as far as the table, landing with two or three bounces.

Vinas uth Antimanes |

Confused, Vinas takes a guess, and holds aloft his symbol of Iomedae and channels positive energy into the room, hoping to keep at bay the ire of long dead soldiers still fighting Positive Energy: 6d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 6, 4, 2, 5) = 25

Vanyan Kaleseder |

Vanyan takes a look around, trying to make sense of what he sees.

Likely, if it’s a haunt, he will take off up the stairs like a normal person, except also screaming.

Vanyan believes this to be a haunt as dozens of shimmering shortspears appear all around. Vinas' positive energy crackles through the chamber like arcs of lightning among the spears greatly weakening them. Aishe offers a bit of protection as Atium's warhammer passes through and cracks the wall.
Tessenarin is up.

Vanyan Kaleseder |

Vanyan retreats about 100’ feet away, going up and out the stairs. He will wait there until the all clear is given.
”Man, I hate haunts. They are just…uh…haunting.”

Atium of Varg |

Seeing dozens of spears animate, Atium shudders as he feels like the Dutch boy with the finger in the damn. The soldier told to stand in the middle of the breech.
But he takes a deep breath- maybe the last of his life.
The Kumaru tree needs to live. We must overcome what is in the way. Even if it means going against phantoms.

![]() |

The spears all shatter as bits of ghostly energy dissipate into the air, twinkling out like stars in the night sky as the haunt is defeated.
The two tablets are each variants of a codex of conversation. Unlike normal codices of conversation, these tablets can’t duplicate other books, only similarly sized stone tablets. Further, the tablets don’t have typical pages; instead, the user “turns a page” by tapping the right side of the tablet to advance the recorded text or by tapping the left side to move back through the text. The writing on the tablet glows like a candle and is legible even in the dark. The two tablets are currently filled with the agonizing screams and desperate last words of the Golden Claws.

Hearing less shrieks and cursing, Vanyan eventually floats back down to rejoin the party.

"Did you all note that these tablets don't have pages? You tap up here to change things, you see?" he offers helpfully after trying it out one of the tablets.
"Not much to read though, just a lot of screams. Who would want to write down their screams? Weird cultists are the worst cultists, I think. The best being, of course, sex cultists, but weird ones are the worst," he continues to offer some very good thoughts.
When others are ready, Vanyan will follow the party down to the next doors (per Aishe's description).

Vinas uth Antimanes |

Tis a silly anachronism. I feel like when you find a wand in Expedition to the Barrier Peaks.
"Is there anything ACTUALLY useful in them Vanyan. Now is not the time for glibness." Vinas doesn't await a reply, as he closes to the door next to Aishe.

Aishe uncovers an old meeting room. Several stone benches are stacked against the southern wall of this room. Two small stone tables sit beside the stack and a large mirror rests against one of the tables.

Vanyan Kaleseder |

Vanyan casts Detect Magic and floats over to inspect the mirror (and the room), very carefully, and stopping if he notices new magical auras in the room.
1d20 + 26 ⇒ (14) + 26 = 40 Perception

Vanyan detects no magic in the room. Never knowing when a lecture or meeting might take up one of the other chambers, this room was designed to serve the needs of anyone at any time. The benches and tables allowed those who needed the room to arrange the furnishings as required. As a result this mirror just never got hung up.
