Zeltyieli nods, "That's what I was thinking...on both fronts."
Von-Dai Cress |
"If we have a long, sharp-tipped weapon someone could stab them repeatedly through the bars. Alternatively, I could try to fling gobs of acid at them until they die."
GM_Grandlounge |
Marus easily kills the creatures. Von any inspections you would like to do before leaving this room?
Von-Dai Cress |
Are there any murals or anything like that?
Zeltyieli Alikathesu |
Zeltyieli nods, "Needed to be done. Let's move on."
GM_Grandlounge |
Not in this room. I will post the rest of the rooms and treasure tomorrow. There are only trivial fights left so I think we are going to skip them. You are going to the last level of the dungeon so you can level up to five. You are free to find a place to have a long rest. I'm going to try to get you through it pretty quickly because I want to get you guys going not he more exciting books. Long crawls are not the best for PBP.

Fghting pits with a curving balcony wraps around the east side of the room. A stair descends ten feet to the floor below.

Anteroom (Cr 4)
Three doors and corridor open off of this small anteroom. A fountain made of green stone on the north wall still provides a constant flow of water.

Rested and feeling strong the group proceeds to the next level. A short flight of stairs leads down to a thirty-foot-square chamber with a cistern filled with dark water taking up most of the floor. Troughs of this dark water run east, west, and south through hallways alongside five-foot-wide walkways. Soggy timbers have been draped over the gaps to provide unstablelooking bridges over the troughs. An ornamental torch made of onyx burns in a sconce next to a hallway heading east, from which the distant sound of someone singing with a raspy throat wafs down the hall.

Human sailing tunes.
"I once heard her voice on the Western breeze. I pointed my sails tracking the sound with ease."
Von-Dai Cress |
Von-Dai quietly says, "Whoever is singing is singing human sailing tunes in Necril, the language of the undead. A most curious individual - and possibly dangerous. We should be cautious as we advance."
Zeltyieli Alikathesu |
Zeltyieli suggests, "Se we should expect an intelligent undead sailor?"
GM_Grandlounge |
Servus, that is the only direction you hear a notable sound from. In other directions there are various creaks and turns.
Servus give me a stealth roll if you decide to venture a head.

A stone bridge supported by stone pillars curves through this cylindrical reservoir. A few feet below the bridge, dark water fills the room. The walls within a few feet of the water’s surface have been painted into a remarkable mural that depicts the skyline of Magnimar, complete with numerous ships seeming to float on the waters of the room.
The chamber’s occupant is floating in the water and singing a song, while he works on adding a new ship painting to his constantly evolving mural.
Sevrus, you can bring a description back to the group. Von you know it is a Lacedon (DC 14 religion to know more).
Von-Dai Cress |
Hey, Zelti, how about rolling that religion check? I don't have that one.
Von-Dai Cress |
"I agree. Perhaps they will not prove hostile. We should be careful and prepared for a possible fight, however, in case they are."
Von will cast a spell to clad himself in armor of force.
Casting extended mage armor, giving me +4 AC for 7 hours.

Zeltyieli you get the feeling that this is a type of ghast called a lacedon based on the song you seem to think that he may have retained much more of his personality than you would normally expect.
Zeltyieli Alikathesu |
Zeltyieli says, "It's probably a lacedon... a type of ghast that's aquatic... So it'll want to eat us, basically. But, this one seems to have held on to more of his personality that usual. Maybe he was just turned recently."
Von-Dai Cress |
"Hmmm...an undead creature retaining a great deal of its personality could mean that we might be able to negotiate. It would likely depend on how hungry it is. I believe a cautious, non-hostile approach would be best. We should be ready for an attack, but we should not instigate hostilities."
GM_Grandlounge |
Make any preparations you would like and as you approach the room he makes to move to attack. His song gets a little sad though.
"I once had a love whom I will sea agian. A was lost to her and the Sea again."
Von-Dai Cress |
Von-Dai responds, ”Hello. We’re down here looking for something. Perhaps you can help us while we’re here? What is your name?”
GM_Grandlounge |
"Lockerbie Brast and let this old sailor do you a kindness. That room you were just in. South of that is a rickety door your likely to fall and get hurt there. To the far west there's a room with a small pool. A nasty green slime lives in there. Now, what can I do ya for now that we are all friends?"
GM_Grandlounge |
You recognize it as the name of the captain of the long picked over shipwreck you saw earlier.
"Well now that you mention it there is a shipwreck outside. On it, there is a locket. If you could get it and deliver it to its owner, I can tell you much more about what is down here."
Zeltyieli Alikathesu |
Zeltyieli almost bursts out that the party has magic to let them go in the water before stopping himself, Let's not give away information we don't have to ... and, really, it's likely that he's leading us into a trap.
GM_Grandlounge |
"Well I am the owner but it was my wife's and I would like to see it returned to her."
GM_Grandlounge |
"A half-mile into the city. She owns a bar, the witless merman. That's me, by the way, I the famous witless merman, though not literally."
Zeltyieli Alikathesu |
Zeltyieli blinks, I don't think I've ever heard of an undead asking for someone to do something positive for someone. Maybe this one really has kept more of his personality... Still, his thoughts darken a little as a wave of skepticism washes over him.

Zeltyieli he seems to be completely honest. You see a tinge of sadness and love in his eyes.
