I actually came across a rule for grappling underwater, turns out, it always deals full damage.
Just for future reference:
A creature without freedom of movement effects or a swim speed makes grapple checks underwater at a –2 penalty, but deals damage normally when grappling.

Good to know. thanks

Thoriel, you do not "store" spells in pearls of power. Its simply a one use a day item that lets you restore a spell slot as though you had never cast that spell. So if you have 3 level 1 shocking grasp spells prepared, use 1, then you can use a pearl of power (1st) to "unuse" that spell slot so that you have 3 uses of that spell again.
Tull Shadde-Quah
|
Or, if you thought you would only use Shocking Grasp once per fight, you could have it only prepared once (leaving other level 1 spell slots for other useful spells), and then have 3 or 4 pearls of power (1st) to recover your expended Shocking Grasp after each fight (when you don't care about the action economy that it takes a round to use the pearl of power). My 14th level Magus keeps only 2 slots for Shocking Grasp, on the expectation that I won't generally use it more than twice in a single fight, and then just gets it back after the fight is over (at that level 1000 gp for a pearl of power is cheap). And of course the same trick can be used for any prepared caster and any spell, though it becomes considerably more expensive for higher level spells.

Thanks for the tips, guys. So basically after this fight, Thoriel is use the pearl of power 2 to 'unuse' Intensified Shocking Grasp. Might thing about investing in a couple more pearls as well. Just have a level 1 and a level 2 at present.

Before you spend a lot on pearls of power be sure to review the Magus spell recall ability and the improved spell recall ability that you'll be getting at level 11.

Might be the wrong link? Looks like those chronicles are for a different group of PCs?

Looking at my Silver Crusade faction card. Did we do any of these?
* Defeat an evil outsider or undead creature of at least CR 8?
* Defeat a divine spell caster (at least CR 8) whose patron is an evil deity?
* Purify a corrupted object or location, or remove an evil force that is possessing or otherwise controlling a creature?
