Thoriel Liltamael |
Thoriel will store her Intensified Shocking Grasp in her Pearl of Power 2
Thoriel watches on, impressed at Jeras' deft hands as he disables some of the columns and waits to see how Periel fares if he decides to enter into the dangerous looking things. Sure, she'll go in one if she needs to, but she ponders which one is likely to do the less damage to her new hairstyle.
GM Gustavef |
Jeras looks at the columns and figures out how to trigger them with needing to damage the anyone of the party.
In doing so, he heads to all four columns and with the last one the seals on the other green door fall.

Room 16
The green metal doors open to reveal a long platform running north to south along the western edge of a large, rectangular room stretching off to the east. Fifteen feet from the west wall, the floor falls away into a dark pit nearly thirty feet across that ends in an equal-sized ledge along the chamber’s east wall. At the center of that wall is a sturdy golden door with silver hinges— perhaps leading to the entrance chamber and your final escape from the Gauntlet dungeon! A thin stone bridge, wide enough to cross in single-file, leads from the east ledge to the west.
Jeras van Hidden |
Jeras checks the room and bridge for the traps.

Menas Red |
Menas looks through the doorway, seeing the golden door and the vast emptiness, he looks on with caution, "Time for that dragon."
Tull Shadde-Quah |
Tull claps Jeras on the back. "I sure am glad you've got such keen eyesight and such deft hands! I'd hate to down here with a group that couldn't handle traps like you have."
Looking through the doorway, Tull spies the narrow path and grimaces. "I guess I won't ask you to make me larger," he says to Enora, "but I don't suppose you have the ability to help me fly?" (Tull has a potion of Fly that he can use if need be, but would prefer to save it if possible)
Turning the group as a whole, he asks, "So have we any clue what sort of dragon we might be about to face? I'd be happy to use this scroll of Communal Resist Energy if we could know in advance what sort of breath weapon it might have. Alternatively, I can hold the scroll in my hand and be ready to use it as soon as we see the creature and someone more knowledgeable than I identifies it..."
Before we enter the room, Tull will cast Shield of Faith on himself (+3 to AC, 7 minutes duration). He will also cure the damage he took earlier. And he will use a pearl of power to recover the Divine Favor that he cast earlier. And just before they enter the doorway he will activate his Sacred Armor ability (+1 to AC, 1 minute duration) and then use a wand of Bless on the entire party (+1 morale bonus on attacks and vs fear, 1 minute duration). Finally, he will activate his Lucky Presence luck blessing on himself (1 minute duration). He has his butchering axe in one hand and the scroll of communal resist energy in the other.

Jeras van Hidden |
"Thank you Tull!" Jeras smiles.
"I will also like to fly if possible! But Tull is first!" says Jeras to Enora.
GM Gustavef |
Jeras notices the bridge itself is designed to rotate and thus dump who ever is on it 30 feet below. With a few quick clicks he makes sure the bridge will stay put.
As Menas pokes in to the room and states. "Time for that dragon." the universe obliges.
From the pit emerge two copper dragons. Jeras notices that they appear to have come up though the floor. And realizes that the floor he saw was an illusion and the chamber goes deeper.
Both fly 20 feet above the level of the platform. The clieing is at 30 feet

I’ll wait to post for Tull until I see if Enora is able to identify its breath weapon energy type. If she can, I’ll use a standard action to cast communal resist energy from my scroll (CL 11), move action to move as needed to deliver to everyone, swift action to spend 1 fervor to swift cast Divine Favor, free action to enter bloodrage.

Thoriel Liltamael |
Missed the buff phase, but if we had time to cast a few spells before the fight, Thoriel will cast (in order if only one allowed):
Mirror Image: Images: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6, and Vanish
Tull Shadde-Quah |
I'm entertained thinking about how Mirror Image interacts with Invisibility :-)
Tull growls at the dragons and angrily points to the Linnorm skull he wears as a hat. "Come this way, ye little birdies, an' I'll teach ya to fear the butterfly!"
As noted above, assuming that Enora is able to identify the dragons' energy type, Tull's turn will be to cast Communal Resist Energy on everyone in the party (giving Resistance 30). Hoping that I'm allowed to also include Menas with this as he moves past? And then swift action Divine Favor. And then free action enter bloodrage.
With Haste and Rage, current AC is 24.
GM Gustavef |
The dragons are Cooper dragons. They have a line of Acid breath weapon as well as a cone of slow. They are young so just immune to acid themselves but no other special defenses.
One thing to note is that Cooper Dragons are Chaotic Good by natures, and these do not seem to be controlled. So something has convinced them to act a bit more aggressive.

Tull Shadde-Quah |
Just a note: the Energy Resistance for everyone is 30, not 20, because it was a caster level 11 scroll that I used.
Tull pulls out a potion of Fly and quaffs it, while quickly infusing his axe with the power of fire.
Move action to retrieve potion of Fly; standard action to drink the potion; swift action to use one round of Sacred Weapon to add Flaming to his butchering axe; 5' step.
Then he calls out to the two copper dragons. "If you are no servants of evil, speak now before we slay you, that we may spare your lives!"
Current AC is 24. If Tull is hit with anything that requires a Reflex or Will save, he will use Lucky Presence to roll twice and take the better result.

Assuming that the dragons do not agree...
"Very well then. You say that death will not be the end of you - let us find out!"

AC is now 22
Enora - Arcanist Iconic |
Enora delays ... watching the spectacle in awe.
GM Gustavef |
Menas strangles dragon and knocks it out pulling down to the bridge.
It snoozes on the bridge. Periel tries the door and it opens.
The gold door opens to reveal a long stone chamber, identical in appearance to the entry chamber! The deans of the Pathfinder Society stand up as you walk into the room, and applaud. “You’ve made it!” exclaims Master of Spells Sorrina Westyr, beaming with pride. “Rest assured, this is truly the end and you have finally succeeded. Step through the doors and to your destiny!”
Menas Red |
Menas eyes the group suspiciously, "There were fake versions of you before. What questions did I ask before we entered the gauntlet?"
Enora - Arcanist Iconic |
”Wow! Good question!“ Enora says with a smile.
GM Gustavef |
Kreighton sighs and turns to Marcos. "I always said those chaos beasts were a bad idea. Everytime!"
The Master of Swords bellows with some laughter, "Ah a healthy does of skepticism is always useful Master Shaine. It builds character!"
The Master of Spells then returns to Menas, "You asked me about questions that we would have liked you to ask us. You asked Sorrina about safety and retreat." He looks back at Marcos. "And you asked him about any ongoing operations with the society and the Guantlet?" He then smiles. "You have been one of the few to take advantage of the vagaries of our offer and asked each one of us one question."
Jeras van Hidden |
"Ok! Are we done here!? Can we go home now! I just wanna lay down in bed and rest!"
Menas Red |
Menas nods, "I appreciate the challenge, but I have more training to do. Do you require anything else?"
Got some feats to retrain now that Martial Arts Handbook is legal. Lots of cool new grapple moves.
Tull Shadde-Quah |
Earlier...
since Menas knocked out Red before Tull acted, Tull does not use one round of rage or sacred weapon.
Huffing and puffing with fatigue, Tull recalls the dragons' comments about death not being the end for them and he flies down to where the Blue dragon fell to make sure that it is not arising as some foul undead creature. He also looks around to see if they have left any treasure behind, thinking that such greedy creatures likely have quite a stash that might be used to raise up the glory of the butterfly.
Perception, sickened: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
He also uses his wand of Cure Light Wounds to heal himself from the dragon's critical blow.

Then he follows the others into the next room. When he sees the three masters he squints suspiciously...
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
... but seems to find their words quite reassuring as he relaxes a bit.
"So, we are done? Well, that wasn't so bad, I suppose. I guess we should have known that the Pathfinder Society wouldn't truly risk killing such fine agents as ourselves..."
GM Gustavef |
Kreighton asks. "Did you see the Wraithsoul Stone? Or learn anything about it"
This is the end, just tying up the loose ends.
