I think I'll do an old school elven archer with the Dragonheir Scion fighter Archetype.

I finally made my character a half-elf ranger freebooter Archetype.

I hope I'm in time to join

Looking at the party composition... Skald doesn't really make a lot of sense without friendly melee types who can benefit from the rage. Unless Rorek's going to roll a front liner (or one of the casters is summon-happy), it might make sense for me to stat up someone else, maybe a Slayer if we need a rogue and a front liner.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I ultimately decided to withdraw, but never posted as such.

Had trouble getting excited about a character with such middle of the road attributes...which means I am a terrible filthy metagaming stat junky, but the first step of recovery is admitting you have a problem.

Spiller gives us some melee goodness. No straight-up fighter yet, but it's a start.

Sorry to hear you're out. There'll be lots of dungeon if you change your mind.

You are :)

Campaign Traits Finished

They all look good and I think I'll have Tavern Brawler to add a little color to my character.:)

Actually Dellan would probably enjoy the Inspiring Rage. He's a front-liner, just not quite as much HP as a fighter or barbie. He does have a 17 AC though (19 when he hits himself with Shield of Faith) so he's not a bad front-liner, just not great at doling out damage (his to-hit is... not great).

That being said and all kidding aside, whatever you decide to play, I'm sure we can make it work, so no worries!

Also I went with Ancient Explorer for my trait. Updated character sheet for Dellan is here.

Barroom Talespinner sounds like a fine fit.

Silver Crusade

I'm deciding between a kinectist and a paladin.

So, the current group, are you guys ok with having a paladin join you? They would likely be either a paladin of Shelyn, or Kurgress the god of "gains" haha.

I had thought about a fighter as well, but, I'm already running two, but neither can make use of the advanced weapon training stuff :(

so, back to my case in point, would your characters be able to get along with a paladin?

Oh no, I'm definitely happy to play the Skald, and with 3 people using the rage that'd really help him shine!

Rorek, no problems with a Paladin here.

I'll get an alias created in the next day or two.

Grand Lodge

I'm fine with having a Paladin in the group

I think Dellan would get along pretty well with a paladin. They could bond over punching ghouls in the face. :D

Silver Crusade

hmmm. paladin is very tempting, but.. I've yet to play much kinectist..

I think, I'll make a semi-front line kinectist, since there is now a ranger.

Now just gotta decide what element...

Dwarf earth kine. could be fun, but, fire...

I'll do my best to get a character posted withing the next 8-12 hours.

If you're thinking front-line, one archetype from the Martial Arts Handbook you could look into is the Elemental Ascetic. Kind of a telekinetic monk, essentially. I've been curious if it lives up mechanically to the very cool flavor.

Regardless of the build, I'm excited to be in a party with a kineticist. It's a really neat class.

Silver Crusade

Are we using the feat tax rules?

Also, Which would you guys prefer to see? A Pyrokinecist, or a Geokinecist?

Having a hard time deciding on one or the other, so figured I'd cater to what the party wanted to see in action.

Both would be ranged and melee viable.

rorek55 wrote:

No

Fire is tried and true, but I've no idea how geo works mechanically, so that would be fun to see in play. Either one sounds good, but if you're putting it to a vote, I'll vote geo.

So do we all have to pick one of the campaign traits? If so I'll probably take a drawback so I don't have to drop either of what I picked.

Drawback: Meticulous

and Campaign Trait: Eye for Treasure fits my race and background....

Kubi Niss wrote:

Yes.

I apologize for not having them ready earlier.

Grand Lodge

I will take the Scarred drawback, that way I get an awesome Scar[Thinking four claws across the face from a large cat]

Campaign trait would be:Adventurers' Blood

No problem. I'll get the CS updated with that. Details make the character more real.... :)

I think I'll change the trait to Caravan's Surgeon though. I already have a +1 trait bonus to Perception, and like bonus's don't stack. Besides, Caravan's Surgeon adds to my history. (gives me a more realistic option for hiring on. I hardly fit anybody's description of a guard!)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Okay Updated with the Trait, Drawback and Background skills

Do you have a rogue yet? I have an idea for one if the dice cooperate.

4d6 - 1 ⇒ (1, 5, 5, 2) - 1 = 12
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (6, 2, 1, 5) - 1 = 13
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (1, 3, 5, 2) - 1 = 10
4d6 - 3 ⇒ (3, 6, 6, 4) - 3 = 16
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (1, 6, 2, 3) - 1 = 11
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (6, 4, 1, 6) - 1 = 16

That should work

AGamer70 wrote:

Looks like we do now.

I'll give the stragglers until Thursday to get their characters finished up, and we should be good for Friday to start. :)

Draxia "Longtooth" Drekaar wrote:

LOL you might want to change the writeup for your campaign trait, unless Draxia is into chics.

Grand Lodge

I've just been looking at the Martial Arts Handbook and the new Brawling Blademaster Samurai looks like it could be fun to try so would it be all right to change my class? Im ok if it isn't.

Forewarning: I'll be on a plane for a good chunk of the day Friday so my first post probably won't be until later in the evening.

Change away if you'd like.

All good. Going to take some time for everyone to get into the posting rythym. Christmas and new years I'm sure won't help.

Discussion thread is open.

Finished the new look Spiller plus a very small background.

Silver Crusade

Should have my kineticist up tonight.

Hi! I've been applying to some of the campaigns that have caught my interest. I think I even applied for your goblin game! I like this idea, and would love to play, but I would hate if I joined too many and had to drop out... So I would like to play but I may have to leave, if that causes me to get turned down I completely understand!

PS I guess this applys to the goblin campaign as well...

Thought I recognized your name. It would be great if you didn't leave, but things happen.

Silver Crusade

Hey, got my guy together, he is a aasimar, who uses his divine heritage and "powers over flame" as proof he is destined for great things like his grandfather. He thinks of himself as a ladies man, though, often times he can come across a little too crass, and he has a hot headed nature that is very rare with those of similar blood. He does however, detest those who willfully and gleefully harm others for their own gain. He has a bit of a strange sense of humor, and, as excepted, a rather overblown fascination with fire.

Also, if you allow it, I'd like to roll for an alternate ability for him, in exchange for his SLA
1d100 ⇒ 20 - thats a +2 to dex, I can re-roll that if you want?

Here is the character sheet, just need to purchase "mundane supplies"

She swings both ways so it's all good.

Sorry for the delay. Was getting a new furnace installed today so no time to work on character. I'll get something up tomorrow.

There appear to be quite a few gaps in this sheet. There's no race listed (I had to assume you're human), traits aren't fully filled in, SLAs are missing, no equipment.

I have no idea what this random dice rolling is all about.

For right now, Ryu is a no.

Silver Crusade

um. The only thing that was not finished/done was mundane gear selection.

I didn't list the SLA from the race because I was asking if I could roll on the aasimar table (you swap your SLA for a random other one, In the case above, I rolled a 20, which I think look up on the chart, its a +2 dex bonus, I can re-roll if you would like, or I can just keep my SLA as listed.) I suppose I should have waited for your response before rolling anything, so apologies.

the top of the sheet lists the race, (archon-blooded) aasimar. (its on a line above Race on the sheet) If you wanted me to list out all the racial abilities, I can do that as well though.

I was missing one trait, which was my bad, I forgot to fill that in before I posted the link as I hadn't fully decided what his other trait would be when I got there. Its now corrected, along with having finished purchasing mundane gear and the like.

Here's the crunch for AGamer70's rogue. I need to clean up the alias and get a backstory.

For the "mundane trade goods" from the trait, do you mean from here?

Trade Goods

Added a background and changed a few skills around to match it better.

Interesting so far

Qilldar, head over to the gameplay thread.
