Female Aasimar Druid 7 (Noble)

I did the D&D quiz, too. My result was:

Lawful Good Human Paladin/Sorcerer (3rd/3rd Level)

Ability Scores:
Strength- 12
Dexterity- 13
Constitution- 12
Intelligence- 15
Wisdom- 18
Charisma- 14

and the rest:

Alignment:
Lawful Good- A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. He combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished. Lawful good is the best alignment you can be because it combines honor and compassion. However, lawful good can be a dangerous alignment when it restricts freedom and criminalizes self-interest.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Primary Class:
Paladins- Paladins take their adventures seriously, and even a mundane mission is, in the heart of the paladin, a personal test an opportunity to demonstrate bravery, to learn tactics, and to find ways to do good. Divine power protects these warriors of virtue, warding off harm, protecting from disease, healing, and guarding against fear. The paladin can also direct this power to help others, healing wounds or curing diseases, and also use it to destroy evil. Experienced paladins can smite evil foes and turn away undead. A paladin's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast. Many of the paladin's special abilities also benefit from a high Charisma score.

Secondary Class:
Sorcerers- Sorcerers are arcane spellcasters who manipulate magic energy with imagination and talent rather than studious discipline. They have no books, no mentors, no theories just raw power that they direct at will. Sorcerers know fewer spells than wizards do and acquire them more slowly, but they can cast individual spells more often and have no need to prepare their incantations ahead of time. Also unlike wizards, sorcerers cannot specialize in a school of magic. Since sorcerers gain their powers without undergoing the years of rigorous study that wizards go through, they have more time to learn fighting skills and are proficient with simple weapons. Charisma is very important for sorcerers; the higher their value in this ability, the higher the spell level they can cast.

A neutral evil villain does whatever she can get away with. She is out for herself, pure and simple. She sheds no tears for those she kills, whether for profit, sport, or convenience. Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

I can't kill anyone in cold blood. I can't. I can learn to hunt. Since it's my stomach involved, I can kill...gosh that makes me sound like a glutton. But the bottom line is I don't have issues getting my hands dirty, I've already had my hands in innards in the kitchen since I was young. Pig stomach soup is a thing here.

Oh and about assertives and turbulents...

Assertive (-A) individuals are self-assured, even-tempered and resistant to stress. They refuse to worry too much and do not push themselves too hard when it comes to achieving goals. Similarly, they are unlikely to spend much time thinking about their past actions or choices – according to Assertive types, what’s done is done and there is little point in analyzing it. Not surprisingly, people with this trait report more satisfaction with their lives and they also feel more confident in their abilities to handle challenging and unexpected situations.

In contrast, individuals with Turbulent (-T) identity are self-conscious and sensitive to stress. They experience a wide range of emotions and tend to be success-driven, perfectionistic and eager to improve. They are also more willing to change jobs if they feel stuck in their current one and to spend time thinking about the direction in which their life is going.

However, while the Assertive variant may seem more positive on the surface, that is not always the case – for instance, Turbulent individuals perform better in certain roles as they push themselves to achieve superior results, while Assertive ones do not care about the outcome that much. Always feeling the need to do more, to have more, and to be more, Turbulent types often forget how exhausting that can be to both themselves and the people around them – but it is entirely possible that this desire to always push themselves just a little further helps many Turbulent types to achieve what they seek to achieve.

I have Turbulent trait.

And it's raining. Great, I draw the line at running in the rain because I have glasses, my glasses get raindrops on them, I can't see where I am going. Besides having cold rain water on me makes me flinch. Now how are me and my BF supposed to run? It's not very heavy so I doubt it'll be over anytime soon.

For all IT critters here: Isn't your first language C++/C/Java, or what not? ;)

My BF is an IT critter that maintains library book scanning systems.

I make a nice shoulder rest I suppose. I'm pretty fleshy. Now I'll warn anyone(other then my BF) who tries to use my shoulder as a pillow on the subway:

1st time: I'll tell you about it. Please take your head off.
2nd time: I nudge their ribs with my elbow, and tell them please take their head off unless they want to get jabbed.
3rd time: I will do full elbow jab in their ribs.

No one's tried a 4th time.

oversized hobbit

No one has ever tried to use me as a pillow unless it was offered. Ugh that would be awful. You should stun gun them.

First was Pascal, cause of school and I'm old. C++ was the first real one. I write software to check out books at libraries so odd coincidence. Guam, I believe would be the closest my software would be to you.

And are you okay, treasure? Or is that about pig stomach soup?

My worst was hogs jowl, which in itself isn't bad, but my mother in law (!!!!) was unable to make it one year, so my wife made it for the first time (it is a requirement in the area for new years), and she didn't know you had to shave it first. Hairy pig face flesh is bad. So so so bad.

My son just took the test and he is a lawful good elf wizard!

Neutral Good Human Fighter/Wizard (3rd/2nd Level)

Ability Scores:
Strength- 13
Dexterity- 15
Constitution- 13
Intelligence- 15
Wisdom- 11
Charisma- 14

Alignment:
Neutral Good- A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment when it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Stuff:

Primary Class:
Fighters- Fighters can be many things, from soldiers to criminal enforcers. Some see adventure as a way to get rich, while others use their skills to protect the innocent. Fighters have the best all-around fighting capabilities of the PC classes, and they are trained to use all standard weapons and armor. A fighter's rigorous martial training grants him many bonus feats as he progresses, and high-level fighters have access to special melee maneuvers and exotic weapons not available to any other character.

Secondary Class:
Wizards- Wizards are arcane spellcasters who depend on intensive study to create their magic. To wizards, magic is not a talent but a difficult, rewarding art. When they are prepared for battle, wizards can use their spells to devastating effect. When caught by surprise, they are vulnerable. The wizard's strength is her spells, everything else is secondary. She learns new spells as she experiments and grows in experience, and she can also learn them from other wizards. In addition, over time a wizard learns to manipulate her spells so they go farther, work better, or are improved in some other way. A wizard can call a familiar- a small, magical, animal companion that serves her. With a high Intelligence, wizards are capable of casting very high levels of spells.

I'm fine. You see our subway is quite crowded. I understand that it is tempting while seated to lean your head on the other person's shoulder, or sometimes you fall asleep, your head just tips over. But not on me, thanks. Usually I won't try to fall asleep except if I'm at the seat next to the glass panel, then I will just lean my head against the glass panel. It's fine, glass panels don't complain.

Yeah those bristles are so tough. We've not had a whole pig head before but I've occasionally had pig nose and pig ears. The bristles can be a problem on the nose.

You'd probably need to blanch the pig head first, then painstakingly pull out the bristles using a tweezer.

Edit: Hmm, they do scraping to remove hair. Didn't know that.

No kids here.

Yeah I'm fine John. That screaming was my response to "In contrast, individuals with Turbulent (-T) identity are self-conscious and sensitive to stress"

I studied computer science for a year. I started out on C++ and then moved to Java when I switched to computer information systems.

I can't imagine a stranger resting their head on anyone's shoulder. That's a damn good way to get punched or reported.

Congrats, John. That's probably the best report card you've seen in years!

Lawful Neutral- A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs him. Order and organization are paramount to him. Lawful neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot. On a positive note though - my Christmas decorations are up!

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

Congrats Edeldhur! Though we're having Christmas celebration at my cousins place this year after my brother has gone to the States, so our Christmas deco will be rather minimal. It's a bit strange not to have to fuss over Christmas lunch this year, since usually I'm the one getting the food catered in(I'm sort of the de facto family party organizer). I asked my cousin if she needed help, she said nope.

Oh and of course don't expect anything to get done during Christmas. I wish we could get a nice drinking party going, but since my niece and nephew are massively underaged(not even 5), no, we ain't drinking in front of the kids.

Want to make sure the ID Rager works with the Urban Bloodrager :P

If there are doubts, the character should be mostly archery focused.

Am mulling over if he should be an half-orc, so we could have at least someone with a modicum of scouting ability (can't really picture a scout without Darkvision...). But that might mean Rapid Shot only at level 7 (!!) which HURTS.

Mort, I also have a question regarding Bane (thinking ahead) - I must 'select one creature type' to use the ability. Can this be called out by someone else, or do I need the appropriate knowledge, and roll for it?

On Christmas celebrations: our decorations are not over the top - they are mainly inside the house. Still there is always that Christmas buzz which is fun. I'm just a sucker for Christmas :D

Edeldhur:

With regards to bastard swords:

If a weapon is wielded two-handed as a martial weapon and one-handed with an exotic weapon proficiency, can I wield it one-handed without the exotic proficiency at a –4 penalty?

No.

So your bastard sword is wielded in two hands as a martial weapon which you have proficiency from bloodrager. It is at a +3, not - 1.

Mind you even in a controlled bloodrage, you still cannot cast inquisitor spells. And being a urban bloodrager, you no longer have access to standard bloodrage.

Id Rager works with Urban bloodrager.

Bane as long as someone identifies it, you're good. Because in combat I assume people are shouting out knowledge checks and speaking is a free action.

And you should get one campaign trait.

Also you have no holy symbol and spell component pouch.

Elf Wizard

Mort:
Ok, let me see if I got it straight:

- I can wield the Bastard Sword 2h as a martial weapon? Thus at +3? Sweet!
- I cannot cast Inquisitor spells in Controlled Bloodrage (really thought I could) :P

Good to know on ID Rager and Bane.

Campaign Trait - I am between... Foe of the Strange, Methodical Mind, or Twitchy.

Holy Symbol and Spell component pouch added.

Edeldhur:

Blood Casting (Su)

At 4th level, the bloodrager gains the ability to cast spells even while bloodraging. He can also cast these spells defensively and can make concentration checks for these spells while bloodraging. While bloodraging, he can cast and concentrate on only his bloodrager spells (see below); spells from other classes cannot be cast during this state.

Ye not casting bloodrager spells. So no spells from other classes during this rage.

A controlled bloodrage still counts as a bloodrage for the purposes of any spells, feats, and other effects.

Yep so controlled bloodrage still functions as a bloodrage so...yep no spells from other classes.

Complain about the new boards here!

I just discovered you can roast marshmallows with a fork in the office oven at 150 degrees celcius. Score one for improvisation.

Elf Wizard

Mort:

Gotcha!

They don't just explode? :D

The Exchange

Complain about the new boards here!

Of course not...they get crispy on the outside and melty on the inside. Though the outside didn't get really very charred, since I was a little worried with regard to structural integrity of the marshmallow. If it melted so much that it fell of the fork and dropped onto the oven, I would have a fine sticky mess to clean up.

The trick is you roll the fork with the marshmallow on it like you'd roll those stuck on a stick on a campfire/barbecue.

BTW I'm a decent enough cook of my own right, though for barbecue stuff, we leave it to the guys.

I learned a thing today. The province of Ontario has two time zones. Most of Ontario uses eastern time, but the part of the province west of the 90° west longitude uses central time.

Questions about the bloodrager.
- Are you a Anger or Zeal bloodrager?
- What is your favoured class bonus? Me thinks it's in skills?

The rest of my questions were answered with a little digging and a few chugs of coffee.

Elf Wizard

And why are you roasting marshmallows on the office oven by the way Mort? :D

Character update for Mort to double check:

Changed to half-orc, which means he basically is now an archer without any archery feats :D

Wanted the Darkvision in case he falls into the role of scout. And the saves bonus from Sacrd Tattoo, and the half-orc gnarly, grim feel :D

Plan is taking Bloodrager > Inquisitor > Probably Fighter (for the Feat) > Inquisitor the rest of the way.

Background is brewing in my head, just need some free time to write it down. Was a busy weekend and work Monday...

Need a few more bits and pieces of gear.

Why was I roasting marshmallows? We had marshmallows in our pantry, my colleague said it was a pity we couldn't roast marshmallows.

Me, being my ever greedy, inventive self replied: We've got an oven. Pull out the plate, Get the sticks and we can roast marshmallows, in the oven.

I was working late, so I took it as a challenge to roast marshmallows in the office. Firstly, no sticks, so I found a metal fork and got started. It worked out pretty well, I'd say =)

Unfortunately I've been drinking some Gianduia Bottega, so my higher cognitive functions are currently impaired ^^

On a more serious note, having archery feats is very important to an archer.

Dimdweller (2 RP): Whenever characters with this trait benefit from concealment or full concealment due to darkness or dim light, they gain a +2 racial bonus on Intimidate, Perception, and Stealth checks. Humans can take this trait in place of the skilled trait, also gaining darkvision to a range of 60 feet.

That's dark vision for humans.

Strange Aeons Grp 2 |

One thing you might want to take note is that arrows are destroyed when they hit a target else you have a 1 in 2 chance of retrieving them. So assuming you miss all shots, you can get 40 shots off.

Generally speaking, ammunition that hits its target is destroyed or rendered useless, while ammunition that misses has a 50% chance of being destroyed or lost.

20 arrows may not be enough since in first book there is no magic mart.

Elf Wizard

Yeah, I can still buy more arrows before we start (finishing up on gear still, bought 40 more) - Have some cash left (about 30 gold, should be enough for these and other odds and ends). Thanks for the heads up.

Though... Even without a magic mart, I was expecting to find some normal arrows :D

As for Dimdweller.... If I give up skilled then the reasons to be human are even less (basically one Feat).

I know, I know... I tend to gimp my characters, trying to do too much :D

On a more positive note... It seems we can start thinking about the prequel Mort?

AC 12, touch 12, flat-footed 10 | HP 8/8 | Fort +1, Ref +2, Will +4 | Str 10, Dex 14, Con 12, Int 18, Wis 14, Cha 8 | Perc +2 | Init +8 | Base Atk +0; CMB 0; CMD 12

In the prequel, we still have all our old memories and therefore personality traits? I.e. this is before someone hits the reset button

Female Aasimar Druid 7 (Noble)

With all but Laelia having low charisma, I played around with her stats (increased INT by 1 and decreased WIS by 1) and skills and have added Diplomacy to her trained skills, so we have someone with that in the party. ;)
