The scenario itself doesn't provide any pregens but they can be found and downloaded:
Or you can create your own level 1 character.

Here's my rogue. I'll get his profile filled out this afternoon.

Hey all!
Hmm, I had been thinking wizard or bard, but it seems like a frontline might be better suited with a wiz/rogue/cleric already.
I'll read up on Paladins and Fighters in the morning, get something mashed up (or take a pregen). Leaning towards a Paladin, at least Kuey wont be able to make this one fall like poor poor William (hes much happier as a morality deficient Occultist anyway!).

Should have 1 more checking in soon and then we will get rolling.
Alec Greene
Went with the bard.
Also, is there a browser that the select portrait feature isn't completely borked? Because firefox and chrome don't seem to work at all for me right now.
Alec Greene
Hmmm. It's basically opening every pic as the hoverover pop up at the same time, making actually browsing any of them impossible, on both my phone and computer Firefox and Chrome.
Maybe I'll see if my laptops firefox needs an update or something.

I've found if I open it in chrome, then slowly roll my cursor over each picture starting top left and working my way across and down, they tend to resolve into something usable. Takes forever, though.

That did it, thanks. Kind of a pain and not doable from my phone (which is how i do most of my posting, what with a toddler who thinks messing with my laptop is the height of fun, loose/bad screen connection and all) but workable.

Yes, running with most current errata.

I used the Hero Lab Online demo to build my fighter. I think it is correct and in line with 1.3, but if I run into a situation where it is not, I'll make the corrections. I used it yesterday, so it should be up to date. I thought they were going to make a change to resonance, but that must be upcoming.
Nat Knaagdier
That's expected in 1.4, which comes out this coming Monday, I thnk.
Nat Knaagdier
Which brings up another point: should we be prepared to update our characters when 1.4 drops?
GM Tyranius
|
Yup, just be prepared to update on the fly. That is the unfortunate part of PbP as it is lengthy enough to run into that unlike a F2F game.

@Zer0- Anytime!
Just giving a moment for MrStr4ng3 to be able to check into the gameplay.
GM Tyranius

Haven't heard much from MrStr4ng3 in awhile.
Alec Greene
Looks like with the 1.4 update Alec will end up with the versatile as his heratige (and therefore toughness) and I'd use the ancestry for natural ambition to pick up versatile performance.
None of which will likely matter for this adventure.

Will get a post up tomorrow morning, I returned to work today and got slammed.
Keznan Thiobs
I'll be away this weekend on a hiking trip. Would only be on mobile and signal would like be iffy so not likely to post. Please bot Keznan however appropriate. He's still got a grease spell. Otherwise, he'll be throwing tanglefoot or ray of frost.

Question on Treat Wounds as it exists now. Does someone have to be Trained in the skill to use it? Pawl has a +1 in it due to his states but is not TEML at all in Medicine.
I see here that Treat Wounds can be done on up to six injured players at one time. This is not Administer First Aid which is upon someone at 0 HP or has persistent bleeding. Either way both Treat Wounds and Administer First Aid require healer's tools.
Nat Knaagdier
It's not explicitly listed as a trained use, but there's a paragraph in the introduction to it that implies it's trained only (emphasis mine):
This new rule means that a character trained in Medicine can help their allies recover with a significant time expenditure.
It does allow someone to treat themselves, though, so Nat could do that, if we have time for another 10-minute period.
Pawl Raikuh
I saw that, but it's not part of the rules per se. It's a commentary note from the devs. When we go to the actual rule that is not there.
I thought there was supposed to be a penalty for untrained use of a skill.
Pawl Raikuh
It is a -4 for untrained use of a skill. It's on pg. 291. I'm using the adjusted rule book that has been revised through 1.6, so it has the changes in it. I used what I think is an older version of HLO to build Pawl and I don't think it has the skill right. I need to use PB2.
Nat Knaagdier
Even in the rulebook, the trained-only uses have no marking as such except that they are listed in the 'trained uses' section.

Now is a good time to post your -1501 character number for reporting purposes. if you have not already created a playtest character number that is.
