[PBP Gameday VII] [PACG] Assault on Absalom by Box Runner Dinketry [Tier 2] (Inactive)

Game Master dinketry

During This Campaign:
At the start of this adventure, choose whether you wish to count the adventure for purposes of tier advancement. If you choose not to count this adventure as tier advancement, you do not gain feats as provided in the Guide, but you do gain scenario rewards and deck upgrades as normal.
This adventure does not use traders.
Do not read any scenario’s villains or henchmen before playing it.
If you are dead at the end of a scenario, you may play another character for the next scenario.
If you fail a scenario, immediately replay it.
When playing this adventure in Tier 2, the scourge die is 1d6; in Tier 5, the scourge die is 1d8+1.
Any character may bury a card that has the Healing trait, an ally, or a blessing to give a displayed or buried Reinforcements support card to another Pathfinder Adventure Card Guild table that does
not have one displayed or buried.

During This Scenario:
Before setting out locations, choose the Dark Archive or the Grand Lodge. When possible, choose one that the table has not yet completed.
  • Dark Archive: Add the locations Great Library of Tephu and Guardian Vault, and use the villain Velriana Unborn. If the Great Library of Tephu or the Guardian Vault is open, the difficulty of checks to defeat monsters is increased by the scenario’s adventure deck number. When playing this adventure in Tier 5, the difficulty of checks against Velriana Unborn is increased by 6.
  • Grand Lodge: Add the locations Ghoul Square and Sea Fort, and use the villain Devoted General. At the start of your turn, roll 1d4; if the result is less than the number of characters, you are dealt 2 Ranged Combat damage. When playing this adventure in Tier 2, the difficulty of checks against the Devoted General and Kor-Ahn Tuk are decreased by 6.

  • 9-00B Reward:

    For the rest of the Adventure, 1 character may temporarily replace 1 item in her deck with the loot item Game of Afterlife and 1 character may temporarily replace 1 spell in his deck with the spell Remove Curse. At the end of the scenario, return the cards to the game box.

    Dark Archive Faction Condition Effective!:
    For the rest of the adventure, when you encounter a non-villain bane that has the Undead trait, you may recharge a card to evade your encounter or to ignore its power that happens before you act.

    This table DOES NOT HAVE a Reinforcements card.
    Reinforcements:
    On your check, after the roll, you may bury this card to add 1d8. You may bury this card; each character shuffles a random card from his discard pile into his deck. You may bury this card to shuffle 1d4+1 random cards from your discard pile into your deck. At the end of the scenario, give this card to another Pathfinder Adventure Card Guild table that does not have one displayed or buried.

    Updated 9-00B Rewards:
    Report 1 success to the Overseer GM. For the rest of the Adventure, 1 character may temporarily replace 1 item in her deck with the loot item Game of Afterlife and 1 character may temporarily replace 1 spell in his deck with the spell Remove Curse. At the end of the scenario, return the cards to the game box.

    I'll flag this if/when we defeat this scenario for clarity.

    Ok, folks. Announcement time: I have been hunting down Aric (Masaru) without success and we've now gone past 24hrs after I first signalled that it was his turn. After discussing things with the Overseer, we are re-ordering the turn order of this table to place Aric (Masaru) 4th and at least let all of you have a first turn. We will decide if Aric (Masaru) will continue with us if they still don't post within 24hrs of being alerted that it's their turn a second time.

    I'll clarify it here: I expect each of you to post within 24hours of when you're supposed to post during this time-sensitive special. I will remove people if they fail to post in this timely fashion due to the interactive nature of this special. We have ~100 ACGers playing in this game, not to mention the over ~150 RPGers. Delaying a post for over 24hrs is not acceptable.

    Arabundi Deck Handler

    Question: There are some "At This Location" powers in Skull and Shackles that occur regardless of whose turn it is. Tempest Cay for example is in the Skull and Shackles FAQ along with a few others. Does the Library fall under this ruling? ie: Does any character failing to acquire a boon, shuffle it into the Library because I'm there?

    Good question, Arabundi. That wording - “if you fail to acquire a boon...” applies to the heading “At this Location”. As such, it’s only applicable at the Great Library.

    I’ve just posted in the middle of the night, still under jet lag and couldn’t sleep. I’ll try to sleep more because 4 hours is not enough, especially as I go to work today.

    Oloch, I am not sure how you have a 2d8 for your Wisdom check, and a 3d10 for your Combat check. Please enlighten me - I am not following your math.


    For melee, Oloch has a d10+3, another d10 from the blessing and I guess his weapon gives him a d10+1.

    Oloch did not have the Blessing of the Samurai in his hand when he started his turn. He had Cure, Weapon of Awe, and his dwarven warhammer. He had discarded his BotG for Arabundi previously. Where did the samurai Blessing come from?

    Secondly, I don’t see how he had 2d8 for the Wisdom BYA check. He got the +2 from revealing his 2 spells, but he should have had 1d8, not 2.

    Remember he can Reset his hand at the start of his turn. Also, if push comes to shove, I have a BotS in my hand I can recharge for him.

    The second die for Oloch's Wisdom check comes from my Blessing of the Gobs 1, which he asked for in the Hangouts. I've updated my deck, but haven't posted in the Gameplay about it yet.


    I think Gimry is right, he must have forgot to mention he reset his hand at the beginning of his turn and draw the blessing of the samurai.

Each time you advance a tier, you may exchange one of these cards with another card of the same type from the Gunslinger Class Deck, following the same restrictions.

    Burgeoning Captain:
    At the beginning of a scenario that uses the Skull & Shackles Base Set, you may cross out this reward to gain the skill Survival: Wisdom +2 on your checks attempted while you are on a ship and on your checks attempted against a ship until the end of the scenario.

    For the loot spells, as a non spell caster, I’ll take the Remove Curse if nobody takes it; it replaces one of any of my card, doesn’t it? I have no idea what Game of Afterlife does.

    I don’t have the Gunslinger deck, so no number 1, no idea if I’ll play a Skull & Shakles ACG Base set game at any point so I’m going for 3 Sea Legs.

    Yesterday there was an incident that occurred on our Google Hangouts discussion page where a player spoke to another player in a belittling and objectionable manner. I have a zero-tolerance policy for such behaviour at my tables; I strive very hard for an air of openness and acceptance with any and all who choose to game with me. It is at the heart of the reason why I choose to game. As such, I could not see a way forward to continue our game as it were.

    After consulting with the Overseers of this game and allowing the parties involved to have their say, we have made a decision as a team and unfortunately, Oloch (TColMaster) will not continue to game with us and has been effectively removed from the game. I thank you all as a group for your patience as we handled this issue. We will continue on as a 3-person game, and we will rock this town, rock it inside out.

    The #1 Rule of Pathfinder:
    Don't be a jerk.

    Oh wow, those scenario special rules are brutal! Maybe not as bad at Level 5, where characters have more cards and probably more Reveal-type armors to prevent the damage. At least, since we're only 3 players, there's "only" a 50% chance of taking the damage...
