Hannar scorches the beast again. As it reels in pain, Hortensia circles around and impales the wolverine. It stumbles forward a bit before collapsing, dead.

Each civilized corpse has a set of padded armor and a cold-weather outfit.
Each of the Kellid warriors has a battleaxe, 3 javelins, leather armor and a heavy wooden shield.

The Kellid warrior, now healed, stirs awake, he looks at the party of unfamiliar faces and crawls away, uttering something in the native language of Hallit.

Hallit:
More defilers! But you saved my life. Speak, or I shall take my leave. Venture no further into the Mammoth Realm!

You may use diplomacy to calm him down. If you don't speak or understand Hallit, it will be more difficult…

Hortensia speaks in Skald, but he doesn't seem to understand her exact words. But her kind gestures and Darven's healing attempts put him at ease.

Hallit:
"I will report my findings, but understand my brethren will not be merciful. Stay out of the Mammoth Realm if you do not wish to cross us, like these other defilers."

Hannar moves to one of the "Civilized" corpses, says "Bad" in Skald while hitting it with his staff. He then moves over to one of the Kellid warriors and says "Friend" in Skald. He then gestures around the group of Pathfinders and says "Friends hunting bad"...pointing at the tracks leading away.

Loni heals his precious pig as the man you healed takes his gear. While he doesn't understand Hortensia or Hannar, you can tell he's trying to warn you of something. He heads east, away from the route Skagni dotted.

You continue on the route. The wind briefly picks up and howls through the plains.

Perception DC 10:
You hear a loud horn sound off in the distance, south of you.

Perception DC 10 (if you succeeded the first check):
A few moments after the first, you hear a second horn sound off in response.

The gradual shift into rockier terrain is now more apparent than ever. Large, round stones evoke cobblestones as they form a layer of ground, although the hard-packed snow is still visible between. Ahead, an ancient ring of boulders juts from the ground to form a ring. The wind’s erratic path around the massive rocks has blown the snow into large, haphazard drifts.

Skagni's map directs the party members to a small cave that will shelter them from the elements for the night. The route leads them through an area with several large snow drifts.

Position yourselves on the map on slide 1.

Perception DC 19:
Three of the snow mounds (one in between the northern most rocks, and two behind the southernmost rocks), seem to be moving slightly. Someone or something is hidden underneath them.

As you travel through the tundra, you hear horns in the distance. Some of you suspect it serves as a warning. Unsure, you press on.

As you reach this circle of stones, Darven's keen detection notices an ambush. He draws his sword and the rest of you prepare for a fight.

Four of the snow mounds burst as three warriors emerge, wielding battleaxes. They shout something, but it's clear they are here to kill.

Hallit:
"No more defilers! You will die like the others!"

Hortensia calls out in Skald, but the four warriors only repeat their previous shout in Hallit.

The warrior in front of Darven is consumed with rage and swings his battleaxe.

Battleaxe: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

The Red-gloved warrior sees Hannar in the open and goes after him, only for Hortensia to impale him. He persists in advancing but Hortensia's combat reflexes finish him off with a gory impale. 1 AoO used- that was a confirmed crit.

The warrior with Green facepaint takes a couple of magical blasts from Hannar and decides to counter attack.
