After you kill the last one, you all rescue the monk and he begins playing the music to keep something away.
okay, people place yourselves on the map as you see fit, but you start outside.
At Chyras, just place the enemies on the map to where you know them to be, some scenarios don't give exact locations, so don't worry about it
on another note, the chronicle sheet said 473 gold for tier 1, I have that part memorized, though someone will have to show me a copy of the chronicle sheet, because I don't know what tier 2 is for our fighter and because it has other items on there that people would love to purchase
Adeah Silversong |
Well, if we still get all the gold and items and stuff, do we wanna just call it here? I got the impression by reading the scenario that our take is based on what we get through, but if that's not the case... I'm fine with continuing, I'm just saying
DoubleGold |
I'd like to complete the scenarios, because I like to do the whole scenario. If characters were dying, I'd probably call it to prevent that, but it doesn't look like anyone is going to die soon. The items you do get must be found, though I'm the DM who lets you know where they are all at, so even if your character didn't find the item, I'm going to say that you did, because I would have just said flat out, ring on this floor in this area, take 20 on perception, since you still need the perception check to find it. However, if we don't finish the scenario we will be missing out on some items.

good idea chyras, would anyone like to stealth around the boulder and surprise round the dog with a ranged attack? As soon as you step out of cover, you are noticed, so you have to attack immediately upon stepping out of the boulder. Just roll stealth and your surprise attack, just don't use a gun because that makes noise. But I like that idea, surprise round the dog, kill it in one hit and the enemies are not alerted. We can say that you all move at the same time and all coordinate at the same time, so we have have 6 ranged attackers attacking the dog at once, though I would need a stealth check from each of you doing this.
Bukko |
Buko draws a small sharp dagger and uses it as a mirror to look behind the rock.
There is a dog. No use for my bombs, sadly. Too loud. Oh, well.
He silently steps around the rock and flings the blade at the dog.
Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Thrown dagger: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 131d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Fronar Gossamar |
stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
kukri 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
damage 1: 1d4 + 4 + 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 + (2) + 1 = 8
kukri 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
damage 2: 1d4 + 4 + 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 + (4) + 1 = 11
obviously I was too concentrated on stealth to give the attack their proper attention.
DoubleGold |
At Fronar, I don't know if you can stealth up to the dog as according to the stealth rules, you are noticed as soon as you leave cover, so you aren't stealthing to the dog, but around the rock to not be noticed by the dog, which is why I stated range would be the only option. The surprise round would start as soon as you leave the rock, in which case you would only get one move or one action. In other words, if you move up to the dog in the surprise round, you wouldn't be able to attack it.
At Bukku a miss due to range penalties, from the point where you would have to throw that dagger is 30 feet, otherwise that would have been a hit.
I'll wait for other people to stealth before I call round 1 out
Adeah Silversong |
Actually they changed the Stealth rules. I think it was around the time the ACG came out.
When you start your turn using Stealth, you can leave cover or concealment and remain unobserved as long as you succeed at a Stealth check and end your turn in cover or concealment. Your Stealth immediately ends after you make an attack roll, whether or not the attack is successful (except when sniping as noted below).
So as long as you start Stealthed, you're good until you attack.
Stealth: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 4 - 2 = 13
Not attacking, just moving.
DoubleGold |
I can't see the dogs perception, but I'm assuming he is taking 10
the good news, though 13 is low, the dog is 45 feet away from you and it is unfavorable conditions, this would bring your stealth to 19 in a way. I'm just adding to stealth instead of subtracting from perception
chryas has 24 stealth with his bonuses, so our lowest number is 19 so far, so as long as the dogs perception modifier is 9 or less were good
on another note, I think the dogs FF ac is 13 or less, if so that might be one shotted, or does the dog have more than 8 HP? I know the people have 6 HP and 12 AC, unless I have the wrong group of monsters memorized.
DoubleGold |
the dog barks alarming everyone else, actually this would be on the dogs turn, so other enemies don't get to act if you finish the dog round 1.
init: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (8) = 10 dog
init: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (12) = 14 other enemies, I think their modifier is a 2, if not this will lower or higher their init. well they can't go before the dog, so their init is 10 and will act on the dogs turn as well, though starting round 2 their init is back to 14, if the dog survives past round 1 that is.
init: 1 + 1d20 ⇒ 1 + (8) = 9 Chyras
init: 6 + 1d20 ⇒ 6 + (15) = 21 aheah
init: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (3) = 7 fronar
init: 5 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 + (10) = 15 bukuu
init: 6 + 1d20 ⇒ 6 + (4) = 10 Nyguyan
init: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (19) = 23 mia

I find that this is a great site to double check prices and stats of all kinds of monsters and so on. Even those in 3rd party.
Mia
Aheah
Bukuu
Other enemies
Dog
Nyguyan
Chyras
Fonar
Mia does a double move up towards the nearest door to get ready to ambush any incoming enemies.
DoubleGold |
actually bukko that was hit as you could have been within 10 feet if you wanted too, as I didn't know they changed the stealth rules, as I was reading some old articles on pathfinder a few weeks ago.
Anyway, if you have another knife Bukuu you can throw it and take out the dog. As it is down to 1 HP. If the dog lives on his turn, the other enemies are alerted.
Bukku is up
Bukko |
Cool! Too bad I don't have another knife. But I have 'Throw anything', can I just throw my coinpurse at it? It still got 7gp in it, so if I hit, that should net at least 1 point of damage, right?
Bukko weights his coinpurse and whispers in tien:
Teacher said the righteous have no use for treasure.
Throw a coinpurse at the dog: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Adeah Silversong |
Yeah, you can solve any problem by throwing money at it. Literally.
Well played.
GM, is that door open?
Mia Kusanagi |

Sorry I won't be able to post in a hour or two because that event was so crazy, so shocking and so hilarious I'm not even certain if I'm awake or if I imagined that...death by coinpurse. Well, that creature has now entered the "Hall of creatures killed in comedic fashions" along with a Mite in a Kingmaker I was running where his mount died whilst they were above a near-endless pit, killed by the impact and his mount, and a Hobgoblin who was killed by a Bard summoning a magical instrument and then throwing it, landing a crit for instant kill.
Because of this, I'm now inspired to make a thread for people to post hilarious deaths they've witnessed. Both PC and NPC.
DoubleGold |
oh for the love of Pete, just roll surprise rounds people who aren't rolling surprise rounds as they could be approaching a door, so I can get this game over with. Sorry but with all this posting I expecting people to approach the doors already and surprise attack the enemies as they open the doors. We are in desert and no dog to alert them, so basically they don't know were are there until we open the doors, we don't even need to stealth, because no noise would be made until door is opened and they can't see us.
hit: 5 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 + (8) = 13
hit: 5 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 + (18) = 23 as nyguyan ambuses a dude with bukku as they approach the door
hit: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (1) = 4
hit: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (6) = 8 acid splash from chyras
2nd guy
hit: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (2) = 4 acid splash from chyras
hit: 5 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 + (3) = 8
hit: 5 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 + (18) = 23
hit: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (2) = 5
dmg first guy as he was hit twice: 2d4 + 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (1, 1) + (2, 2) + 10 = 16
dmg 2nd guy as he was hit once: 1d4 + 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + (2) + 5 = 10
and 3rd hit: 5 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 + (17) = 22
hit: 5 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 + (18) = 23 yep that is game.

You should, and then link it! I don't think I'd have anything to contribute, but I'm sure it'd be funny to read what people have seen in-game.

You mean the PDF scenario I no longer have access too. They helped me draw the last map and told me the creature statistics.
Adeah Silversong |
Well you linked it at the start of the thread. Do you not have a PDF viewer anymore?
