Gothia moves toward the lizard-creature and raises her sword to slice the beast.

Your bless spell had taken affect.

The trogs try to use their saps to knock you unconscious. They attack Chestman.
Trog attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Trog damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

One tries to take down the paladin with his claws.
Trog claws: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (9) - 3 = 6
Claw damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1

The third one is fumbling with a bow and some arrows.

Tavern Tale, still barking inspiring exaggerations of the new party's incredible martial prowess, moves to flank a troglodyte, stabbing away with her cold iron dagger. The one-eyed gal misses by a country mile; her depth perception may be borderline horrific.

Vesica cold iron dagger (IC, bless, flank): 1d20 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 6 for cold iron, piercing, slashing damage (IC): 1d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 = 6 (19-20)

They say you only get one chance to make a first impression. TT totally nailed hers.

Brenfine draws her rapier and closes with the trogs, joining Chestman and Gothica. She turns her body for a minimal profile to the enemy and holds her rapier point forward in a guard position, ready to lunge.

Thanks for the heads up on my Bless spell.

Standard action to draw rapier and move action to close to melee range.

Not too sure where She fits in the initiative order, but her we go...

Gothia raises her sword again, the minor scrapes of the creature's claws not even fazing her, as she swings the mighty bastard sword at the beast.

Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 1 + 1 = 26

Not wanting to cause harm to his companions in melee, Sea Ranger moves a bit closer in case his blade is needed, but lets fly with another bullet from his sling at the lizardman with the bow.

Sling Attack (w/ Bless): 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 1 = 18
Sling Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 bludgeoning

Move to within about 15' or so of the melee and fire another bullet at the bowman - who is presumably not fighting anyone at the moment.

Greatclub,Bless: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 1 = 201d10 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Krishka moves to take on the archer, charging if she can do so without aoo.

”Face me right, lizard!” Krishka yells at the trog.

attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 181d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

Chestman's club managed to knock one Trog unconscious. Krishka's attack has caused trauma to another trog, causing pain. Sea Ranger's attack causes one trog to be knocked unconscious. While Gothia's slash to one causes a bleeding wound. Finally Tallen dropped his bow.

With all three trogs down, it's up to you to decide how to deal with them.

Tavern Tale has a sudden epiphany and looks up from her looting at Sea Ranger. "Hey--before we trample the ground too much, do you think you can find trog tracks that will tell us where they entered the village from?"

Half-Elf Druid 1 / Ranger 1 | Init: +4 | Per: +13 | Fort: +6, Reflex: +4, Will: +5 | HP: 18 (of 18) | AC: 17, FF AC: 14, Touch AC: 13 | CMD: 17 | Spells Cast: 0 Lvl - 0 (of 3) / 1st Lvl - 0 (of 2) | Conditions: None |

Concern for the girl that he and TT had left the inn to speak with fills the druid suddenly, and when the bard turns to speak with him, he answers in a concerned tone. "We should see if the girl we were headed to see is unharmed. Then I'll try and search for tracks - though I must admit I'm still working on that particular skill." Sea Ranger sends Scout to the sky with the order to 'Defend' if he sees any danger before the druid does and leads the way back toward where they'd seen the girl. If she's safe, he'll look for tracks that might indicate where the lizard folk came from.

I think finding tracks is Perception, then following is Survival? I'll roll both.

Perception check: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
Survival check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

"We gotta see if there are more trogs in the village!" Chestman smashes the heads of two of the trogs. "Death to slavers! We just need one alive if any of ya want to question it.

Female Human Shield Lander Paladin

"We need to bind these creatures and bring them to the Mayor of this town. He is the legal representation for Law in this town, and therefore it is up to him and his councillors to deal with them."

She will start to bind up the lizard people regardless of their wounds.

For once Tallen agrees with the paladin, ”Yes, the more prisoners we bring the mayor the greater the reward might be.” Looking to the dwarf, ”Plus one captive may lie and we would have no other story to compare it too.” Looking at the trogs with the bashed in heads, ”Just remember that next time… it might be too late to garner information from those two.”

He lets the paladin bind the creatures and stays alert for more trogs.

Tallen Rynn: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

You don't notice any more troglodytes. However, the people are cheering for you for what you did.

Tavern Tale divvies up the gold, handing a single gold piece to each of the others; the extra 2 she holds on to, claiming that both she and Sea Ranger have less than 1 gp to each of their names and could really use the extra gold piece. She also grabs a sap out of the loot pile, potentially a damage upgrade from her dagger. Telling the others that she's going to the house of the girl she spoke to just before the group entered the Golden Grain Inn, the one-eyed lass takes off after Sea Ranger.

Gothia waves off the money with a smile.

"We are comrades...if you need funds just ask. I have more than enough for now."

She reaches into her purse, removes 20 gold coins, and hands them to Vesica.

"That should do until we can receive the bounty on these beasts. Now let us get to the mayor's office and see what is happening in this blighted village."

She leaves the lizard-creatures in the hands of the locals for the time while she heads to the Mayor's.

Tavern Tale's jaw drops at Gothia's generosity, "My thanks, Lady!" she gushes, not quite sure what the proper way to address a paladin is. "I'll...We'll repay you as soon as possible!" She takes the offered gold rather meekly, putting it into her obviously near-empty coin purse. "If you could wait just a minute, allow me to go find Sea Ranger first. His kind-heartedness made him go off alone, something none of us ought do until we're certain we've gotten to the bottom of the disappearances here."

Now she jogs off in search of Sea Ranger.

Tallen looks at his flaccid coin purse and then at the paladin then back at his purse, there will be time later to indulge in the paladin’s generosity. Shaking his head is disbelief, ”Well… umm… sure let’s go see the mayor.”

The Town Hall doubled as the mayor's residence. It was in the village square, and he is handling the townsfolk. Who just witnessed what you did. A lot of them want the mayor to bring out the town militia to handle the abductions -- but it seems that seven brave heroes had managed to do what the town militia could not.

The mayor is a simple, overweight man in his late forties. He has a balding head of red and green eyes. He also has a beard. He is wearing blue and white pinstriped trousers made of tweed. His shirt is a red shirt, over that is a purple waistcoat, complete with a pinstriped coat. There is a silver chain originating from the left side of his coat and leads into a left pocket. His boots are made of black suede.

"Now I'm sure we could get to the bottom of the abductions," he briskly said.

Heh, definitely don't want to create a delay, just wanted to check on the status of that girl that TT spoke with on the way into Orlane. Can we presume she's okay? If so...

Sea Ranger nearly runs into the excited TT as he heads toward the 'town hall', and he gives the bard a grin. "She's fine. A bit scared, but I think the folks out there consider us heroes. They'll probably be asking you to make up a ballad about it tonight, in fact. But here, let's get back to the others. I suppose it's not wise to keep the mayor waiting, after all."

Female Human Shield Lander Paladin

"It is a great honour your worship to meet you. It would seem that your village has been infiltrated by evil. I am Ritter Gothia VonSalais of the Shield Lands. My companions and I wish to offer you our expertise to hunt down and destroy the evil within your lands."

Brenfine walks up to the mayor, hearing him talking about the abductions. She is suspicious of the man, for not having the militia handle this problem before now. "Good day fine sir." she states with all due pleasantries. "My comrades and I have managed to best these vile intruders into your land and we have one still alive for you to question about these abductions your people have been living in fear of. We gladly offer our services to your people. At this Brenfine engages the crowd with a sweep of her arm to the people gathered in the town square. "in dealing with whatever is happening and I assure you we will do everything in our power to rescue your villagers, your children, from who ever has taken them." The woman draws in the crowd behind her, just in case the mayor turns out to be dishonest. A likely situation knowing the ruling class and also his lateness in enlisting the militia in resolving the problem.

"Good to hear," the bard replies to Sea Ranger after letting out a deep sigh of relief. "We haven't heard any other outcries yet from within the village, so maybe those three were the only ones on this raid."

En route to the mayor's place, TT hands Sea ranger two gold pieces. "These are your share from the treasure we got off the trogs. They had some other basic equipment we might be able to sell at some point." Then the bard digs into her coin purse and gives the half-elf 10 more gold coins. "And this is a loan I got us. You'll never guess who gave it to me...Gothia! I told her I'd repay her as soon as we can. Hopefully, there'll be some sort of reward if we can solve the mystery of the abductions, and maybe some well-earned spoils from defeated enemies as well."

On to the mayor's place!
