28 days to craft and Tirnel ate 16 of them leaving 12 remaining.
Items Kieran would want crafted and can afford only 1 of the following:
+2 composite long bow (8 days)
+4 full plate (16 days)
Greater bracers of archery (15 days)
Belt of giant strength +6 (36 days)
Ibram/Kentaur post your wishlist please.

Creating magic armor has a special prerequisite: The creator’s caster level must be at least three times the enhancement bonus of the armor. If an item has both an enhancement bonus and a special ability, the higher of the two caster level requirements must be met. Magic armor or a magic shield must have at least a 1 enhancement bonus to have any armor or shield special abilities.
Tirnel could only create +1 armor, same for weapons.
+6 belt of giant strength would cost 18,000gold. Kieran has this much?
Tirnel Stargazer |
What the literal f#~~... It would help if they put that in the f@!$ing feat description.
Read it under 'magic weapons' heading?
How the f~%* does someone make a +5 weapon or armor with special abilities in it; or-who makes a +10 magic weapon (30th level caster)?
Feat description:
You can create magic armor, shields, and weapons.
Prerequisite: Caster level 5th.
Benefit: You can create magic weapons, armor, or shields. Enhancing a weapon, suit of armor, or shield takes 1 day for each 1,000 gp in the price of its magical features. To enhance a weapon, suit of armor, or shield, you must use up raw materials costing half of this total price.
The weapon, armor, or shield to be enhanced must be a masterwork item that you provide. Its cost is not included in the above cost.
You can also mend a broken magic weapon, suit of armor, or shield if it is one that you could make. Doing so costs half the raw materials and half the time it would take to craft that item in the first place.
See magic item creation rules for more information.

Sold belt of physical might=10,000 GP
Spend 8,000 GP
18,000 GP +6 belt of Giant Strength. Didn't read anything about x3 caster levels for the pluses but take a look
DM Darkvision |
I don't see a specific requirement.
Think its kind of crazy a 5th lvl caster can make a +6 Str belt but can't make a +2 sword.
Will house rule that it is x2 caster levels for armor, swords, and wondrous items.
But since a +6 Str only gives a +3 bonus, I would consider that to require a 6th level caster.
+3 sword or +3 armor would also be 6th level caster.
Tirnel Stargazer |
House rules to the rescue! :D
In all fairness, it doesn't seem reasonable that a 5th level wizard could make +5 weapons/armor if they had the funds.
So Tirnel CAN make +2 arms/armor? (as well as +4 belts)
Rings of protection and amulets of NA specifically call for 3:1 level to +bonus ratio.
Next question: Can Tirnel buy scrolls of wish/limited wish and cast them with level adjustment penalties?
I'll need limited wish for rings of wizardry and wish for stat advancement.
Also, how much would a wish scroll cost?
Final quesiton: What would be involved in crafting a staff of the magi?

Will wait to see DM's answer on +2 arms/armor. I'm guessing Ibram and Kentaur are in the same boat.
Tirnel Stargazer |
With 12 days remaining, Tirnel could craft each of the companions three a set of +2 armor @2,000 GP and 4 days per set.
Unless someone is heart set on something else Kieran see that as a fair distribution of Tirnel's time.
DM Darkvision |
Yes to the +2 arms/armor
To craft a ring you would need forge ring
To craft a staff you would need craft staff (11th level feat) plus prerequisites for the staff
For Staff of Magi, I would say17th level caster as it can duplicate a 9th level spell
You don’t know anyone that can cast spells higher than 4th level and that was the old woman the tried to kill you! You imagine that if a wish or limited wish scroll exists that it would be exceedingly difficult to find and would cost a fortune. Something like that would probably be available only in the largest and most prosperous cities. If there were 17th level casters around this area, you guys wouldn’t be needed.
Tirnel Stargazer |
Scheduled for forge ring at 7th level (One ring to rule them all!) so I can get rings of wizardry 3/4 if I can get a limited wish scroll and a third ring with hand of glory. So at 7th I'd need to know if I could buy limited wish scrolls or it won't be worth the feat as I can't cast that until 13th level.
Can take craft staff at 11th but probably not going to get to 17th level for 9th level spells. :(
Plus if I could cast 9th level spells I wouldn't need to buy scrolls of wish to advance stats.
Maybe the old woman just needs some sweet talking? She'll come around!
DM Darkvision |
There are no casters in the kingdom that are more powerful than you and Kentaur so scrolls would have to come from outside. You might be able to obtain scrolls 1-2 levels higher than you can cast from outside the kingdom, but anything beyond that would be unlikely. So if you make it to 9th-11th level you might get lucky with a limited wish scroll.
Tirnel Stargazer |
"If you make it..." love that optimism!
Pearl of power would take 16 days. :(
+2 heavy steel shield attempt for Kentaur
spellcraft: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34 Almost SUPER magical!
Pay 1,000 GP (sell +1 shield for 1,000 GP; make +2 shield for 2,000 GP)
+2 full plate attempt for Ibram
spellcraft: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22
Pay 1,000 GP (sell +1 FP for 1,000 GP; make +2 FP for 2,000 GP)
+2 full plate attempt for Kieran
spellcraft: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30
Pay 1,000 GP (sell +1 FP for 1,000 GP; make +2 FP for 2,000 GP)

If I read the magic item creation rules right I don't have to spend consecutive days crafting on a single item so please start booking my short durations of down time towards crafting.
Tirnel Stargazer |
The costs are not included in either the purchase or the sales price.
Tirnel also learned masterwork transformation so MW items are pretty straight forward and could be produced at 1/2 the price of regular manufacturing.
If Tirnel just had more downtime he could fund the kingdom. Bring on the golem works!
Tirnel Stargazer |
Do you want to retire Tirnel so he can become a corporate billionaire? He can then buy all the politicians in Ibram's kingdom and rule via proxy.
YES!
First order of business is to move the capital to Milo. :D
Then he builds a fleet of golems and raises a horde of undead to keep the peasants in check. Once he finishes off King Goody-Goody and his loyal minions of course. Svetlana chained up in the kitchen making fangberry pies...
Good times, good times!
Kieran Strongarm |
Kieran and Tirnel cower in the back so Ibarm and Kentaur can take all the damage with their prodigious AC and HP!
Kieran Strongarm |
Kieran and Tirnel each kick in 250GP towards a CLW wand (seeing as they seem to need healing the most...)
Tirnel Stargazer |
Kesten is just a small 'l' lord. Not a BIG L Lord like the rest of us.
His title is probably Sir Suckadicka but we are all just too polite to say it to his face. ;p
If he was any good he wouldn't be losing our men on random patrols a mere 2 days from Milo.
Weak sauce...
Make sure to list that helm of mind reading on your PC sheet Ibram. SO cool that Darkvision just randomly gave you a magic item like that! :D

Arcane suggestions for Clint in Jotunheimr campaign based on current party line up of Slayer (heavy melee), Oracle (healer), and Monk (mixed melee?).
If you want to do Witch I would go straight Witch. The spell list is limited but you do scale spells like a Wizard and having more range with your hexes than the focus of a herb witch.
I would also look at Arcanist. Full spell list albeit you don't scale up like a wizard, but you do get access to arcane exploits which has a bunch of good stuff.

Certainly I read Ibram's post; I think after I posted my action but honestly I can't remember now.
Regardless of when I read the post I don't think the sequence you described sounds like something that makes any sense? Especially when it comes to Tirnel, who is always ready to let his friends get beat on but not very thrilled with the idea of getting hurt himself.
I believe it a fair statement to say that Tirnel would have delayed taking 10/20 checking out the necklace until after Ibram opened the coffin or Ibram would have waited to open the coffin until he knew his companions were ready to go.
If you read it differently I understand and it's your narrative to write. :D
