That you. Being biases I am blessed to live in the greatest nation in the world. Which is why most everyone in the world probably hates me ;)
On a posting note, I will be gone starting the 6th. I will have very limited posting and will spend the lion's share on Ice, so I do apologize to Damo and Jack. I will do my best.
Stay safe everyone, I would hate for you to show up at GenCon with missing digits from errant fireworks and the attendees to think that our 4-star GM took The Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment too seriously. Looking at you Lockwood!

Happy 4th of July, dudes!

Hey now, I resemble that remark. You do something a bunch of times, and suddenly you have a reputation :)
I'm heading out on the boat with the family for some wakeboarding, wakeskating, and (because I'm an old man) some tubing. Hopefully no injuries this time :)
Stay safe everyone!

Vacation is over! Back to regularly scheduled posting. Thanks for your patience while I've been less frequent than usual.
Ha! Your "less frequent than usual" was still on par with my normal posting rate. I think you're all good and have nothing to thank us for, dude :)
But either way, glad to have you back!

Would any of you fine friends be interested in making a level 7 arcane caster, and dying horribly with Steve's and my toons in the Tomb of Horrors?
We lost our party wizard, and they are recruiting now for a replacement. We do about 1 post a week it seems like (Steve, correct me if I am wrong here).
No worries either way, I just wanted to check and see if there was any interest.

You know you want to... Besides, why wouldn't you want to adventure with a drow that has a +29 to disable device? ;) in a dungeon notorious for its traps? :D
Actually, it's not as bad as you might think. Having our games dulls the pain of waiting so long between posts. I am usually the one driving the game along as the rogue, which has helped, at least since I joined anyways.

Hey all. Just a quick update. My uncle in Australia died today (cancer, so we knew it was coming, just not when). I'll be leaving for Oz on Tuesday and coming back the following Monday. During that time, and in some of the lead up, my posting will be quite sporadic.
I'm going to put the Reign of Winter game on "back burner" status. That'll mean it will keep ticking along, but only as and when I find myself with nothing else to do. It also means I'm waiving the 24 posting time limit if we enter combat. Just as and when you get time. I'd really like to focus on getting ready for the next Drongos scenario so we have it ready in time for GenCon. Going back to Australia in the middle of that timeframe means it's going to be a bit of a sprint, but I have some ideas to push it along.

Sorry to hear than man. Glad you can make it over. We will be here!

Hey again guys! I don't want to derail anything with From Under Ice, but I would like to make sure we don't have any of the "admin" stuff to sort out when we start the next scenario - I want to transition as smoothly as possible.
So... with that in mind, when you have time, please do dot in and reply to my post on the discussion thread here:
Mostly, I want to get chronicle sheets filled out as much as possible and I want to make sure the mission and faction missions have been handed out by the time we start. Take it easy, and please feel free to ignore the thread as needed. Definitely do not favor posting there over any game but Reign of Winter!
If anyone objects (especially a fellow GM), I will retract my requests and mark the campaign as inactive until a better time.

Damien,
do we have a 6th yet for Returned to Sky on Friday AM? If not, I will see if one of my peeps from the Twin Cities is interested. I know that one of my roomies has the morning off, and has an Abjurer 7 who is pretty good.
Also, I will be packing Magnus, my Paladin of ArodenAbadar 9 along, in case we decide we need a little more firepower in the 7-8 tier. I don't expect we will, but bringing him is no big deal.

Still looking for a sixth according to our GenCon spreadsheet, which represents my best knowledge on the subject. Additional folk for the other games you're running would be awesome, too! I'm happy to pick up randoms at the muster point, but would rather have people we know. :-)

Okay, so I have some unfortunate news. Something that I cannot reschedule has come up and will definitely interfere with my gencon time. I wouldn't change my gencon plans lightly, as I have been really looking forward to going and meeting you all. The thing which has come up sadly cannot be rescheduled and I'm being honest that I wouldn't change my gencon plans unless I had no other choice. Because of my new obligation is that same week, I'm going to miss Thursday and some of Friday at gencon for sure. I'm hoping I can get there for the Friday night game, but timing will be close. I know won't be able to get there before that. I'm really sorry to change ours plans on you guys, I feel terrible dropping this on you like this.
Again, I'm really sorry about the change of plans, and I hope it doesn't screw too much up for you all. Like I said, I think I can be there for the Friday night game (or at least it's my current plan to try my best to be there Friday night).
I'm not sure what the best next step is for planning out gencon for both myself and for you all, but also I want to try and keep this from effecting you all too negatively.
Thoughts?

Kidding! Hope everything is ok!

Chris, hope it's all well and no issues. Checking the schedule, you'll miss the game you need to be level 7 for, and at worst you'll be playing up a tier with a 4-player adjustment. We'll protect our encyclopedia. :-)
All the best, and can't wait to see you on Friday night! Even if you miss that session, we can always make the pub session.
| christopher lockwood |
Thanks, guys. Everything is good on my end, no issues. My obligation was just scheduled recently, and I have no power to change it. But it's nothing bad at all, so no worries the there.
My biggest concern was screwing up things for everyone else for the gencon plan. I'm not sure if there is anyway for me to try and play a live game or two before gencon to try and make up for what I will be missing now. But first and for most, I don't want to mess anything up for everyone else. So if I need to play a pregen, then that's what I'll have to do. I don't want to hold everyone back being too low a level.
Once I get a moment to check and confirm how many experience points I'll be missing, I'll see if there is anyway to make up the difference before the con.

1 level for a star like Ibid won't be a problem at all. Email me if you're open to doing a live session with me and some mates from the US & Australia. We usually start 7pm on a Friday and could easily switch to PFS on our next session and try to squeeze it in before GenCon.
You won't be lacking an XP, though. Our APL will be whatever our APL is and I've checked all the games: we're fine.

That sounds pretty awesome to me, I'd definitely be up for doing that. I'll send you an email and hopefully we can set something up before gencon. So long as it's not too much trouble for you and your group.

Okay, let's get things started on Song of the Sea Witch. From Under Ice is almost done (do you want our PFS details and day job rolls for that one, John?) and I'd like to get into the first combat encounter before I fly out. Ambitious? You bet.
@Ibid: not sure if you've been reading the Drongos thread at all, mate, but I do need your PFS details & day job roll on the discussion thread. The game is here if you've somehow lost it.

Random find - Was looking for good potential scenarios to help Damien with a potential google hangouts session pre-Gen con and stumbled across this thread:
Follow this for Scenario planning awesomeness
Thought you guys would like it!

Dude. That guy rules! If only we could all play along in that fashion! I think the PFS developers are doing a much better job these days of keeping scenario stories in order, by the way. The whole Sky Key plot-line and linked scenarios from season 6 seem to have a much stronger tie to one another than what I've seen in past seasons.
I can't wait for season 7 where they are, reportedly, finally coming out from under the yolk of that year's adventure paths! PFS is finally getting its own independent meta-plot. Yay!

Sorry, dude. I did see that I was missing some of the game, but I just got behind with a few crazy days. I'm getting all caught up now though. Should be all set. Thanks!

Chris - here is the link to where you can download the faction cards. Its free. The bonuses aren't all that special. Hopefully they will make a revision at some point, because they aren't really all that exciting, but I can understand they want to be careful not to unbalance the game with something that requires the honor system.

No troubles at all! Mostly, I guess, you needed your day job check for an exact amount of gold. 75gp - nice roll!
Anyway, looks like we're full steam ahead. In LAX right now, waiting for the flight to Australia (woo! I made it on time!). Only 1.5 hours to wait here, 15 hours in the air, 2.5 hours in Sydney, 1.5 hours to Melbourne, 1 hour drive to my friend's house and then I'm going to pass out, if not before. [i]Really[i] hope I don't do that while driving (or waiting at a gate lounge!).

So am I to assume that Sea Witch is the last scenario before GenCon?
I assumed that Jack would run Goblins Free next, and I thought that Damien would pick up RoW again, which leave the Drongos.
After Gencon, I was wondering what was up for the Drongos, and what level everyone expects to be at. Finarin, assuming he survives, will be 7.1.
I was anticipating we would do Slave Master's Mirror. I also played Darkest Abduction, and could run that after Gencon if you all don't play it there. Sorry for the brain dump, was just wondering in case I needed to try and get in a game or two while everyone is away, or if I was up next wanted to get prepped.

I am planning on runing We Be Goblins Free, and then getting back to Thornkeep (note: you need to stay level 4 for the third level... )
I have run and played Slave Master's Mirror... and it is fantastic. One of my favorite authors (hopefully I'll get to see him at Gen Con again). I also played Darkest Abduction... not one of the better ones I have played.
FYI -- long term, I am thinking that I'd like to run the season 4 7-11 scenarios leading up to The Waking Rune, if you guys don't mind. Fantastic stories, and a killer finale. That would be after Thornkeep, mind you, unless I ran the Drongos through it.
