Since RL Steve seems like a twin to Cyrus, do I have to shave my head to reflect the darker Finarin, or clean my chair before I sit down?

That was, in fact, me. :)

Well, I'll do my best to play a good Gunari... *hic*!

Sans plate armor, and all.

... freakin' OUT!

I'm not 100% sure of my schedule yet, etc. I am planning to play the Special with my local group, we have something special in mind for the Special...

I also have three events in the system for running some homebrew 5e.

Make sure to bring a laptop, not sure if we are going to play these games face to face or just sit around a table on our computers. Can't wait for Chris L. to start complaining he can't move his token because he is on his phone; he left his laptop in the hotel room.

Hey, we're the PbP superstars. Face to face isn't even an option! I'll move Chris L's token for him... as usual.

Mark, we'll exchange numbers. At the vey least, we can do beer. Likely, we'll get a table together and have some good old fashioned PFS fun.

Never asked, by the way, how did your PbP Slave Ships tables go? I read along for a while, but got carried away with my own PbP games.

Hey-o! So let me get this straight, I ask people to move my token for me a couple-hundred times, and now it's all-of-a-sudden 'my thing'? :)

Okay, sure, fair enough. Tell you what, complete this puzzle (on your own) by 5pm CST today, and we'll relent. :-)

Male Level 1 Human Commoner

Oh sure, I see how it is... Give me a 100% impossible puzzle to complete...

I'm going to need to think about this one for a while. Move the bird into the box... Move the token of the bird into the box.... Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap, crap

Are you sure it's even possible?

Mwa ha ha ha! Like a Chinese finger trap, it's so easy if you just know how. If not, you just end up like this guy. Thought he knew it all.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQNightCWZE

Staged for sure, but I can see this being Chris L trying to get the bird in the box.

Male Level 1 Human Commoner

Hahahaha, but too mean...

Of course I can get the token of the bird in the box. I totally, completely, 100% know how.. I... ahhhh... umm.... just can't right now. But I totally know how you guys do it, it's not even a mystery to me. I don't sit around every night thinking you all are computer wizard-geniuses and basically hackers for being able to do it yourselves...

... Seriously, you guys actually are expert, NSA level code jockeys, right? That how you know how to move yours tokens. Nailed it

Male Human Engineer/4 (ding!)

Just had a brilliant idea for an app.... an app that lets you move tokens from your phone! I'll sell it for 50 cents on the app store. Gamers everywhere will love it, I'll make millions!!!

Male Human Engineer/4 (ding!)

On a more serious note (maybe) My curling tournament is this weekend. I will still be able to post but it just might be at odd frequencies... I took the day off of work today since my first draw is in about 2 hours. I've got a post up in all our games, but I hope to be able to keep up normally, especially if we get into something where the posting heats up.

No worries mate. Posting usually calms down over weekends anyway!

Hey all, in addition to providing Chris L with an impossible challenge, I'd like to remind all of you that (following the Wounded Wisp Pt 1) we will be starting play with our fresh group of level 1s! I now have it mapped out.

The set will begin with "First Steps: Part 1-3". These scenarios introduce all the (old) factions and the PCs to Pathfinder life in general. Next will be "Wounded Wisp", which is a great segue into "The Confirmation". As noted earlier, parts 2-3 of First Steps are not playable fore credit, and we'll be doing those as non-sanctioned PFS adventures (no chance of death, no chronicles).

I'm not sure how long Scions Pt 1 will take, but probably about a week, given our usual pace. ;-) We can move directly into Scions Pt 2 (which will be released by then) provided I've had enough time to read it over, but I'd really rather get started on the new group rather than rush my scenario prep for Scions Pt 2.

... as such, can all of you please finalize your characters for the new group by next Friday (before the end of Feb)? If not, we'll do Scions Pt 2.

Finally, I want to get some group names going for our guys to help us identify them. My ideas so far (obviously, the goblins are the Goblins):

1. Amaranti, Cyrus, Finarin, Gunari, Ibid, [Lort], Miro: The Old Crew - or just the "OC", Damo's Drongos (you need some Australian slang knowledge to understand this one), The Scenario Crew (to call it like it is)

2. Arturo, Jaender, Ophiuchus, Roudantaimi, Strong Brute, Vox: Silbeg's Slayers (in honor of Hamilton and the GM) - or just "SS", The 'Keepers (Thornkeep, Bonekeep... y'know), Merian Vargidan and the Funky Bunch, The Module Crew (to call it like it is)

3. Augustus, Pooka, Sun, Xûll: Bob's Beasts. No additional suggestions for this, that name gets 100% of my vote

4. New level 1 characters: The Neophites, The Alternates / The Alts (to call it like it is)

Any better suggestions or preferences?

I love that you and Jack are doing all the planning. It honestly hurts my head sometimes.

I am ready for the Neophites.

I might table Bob's beasts until after WBG2.

OH, man... I need to make my -17? OMG!

Whatever shall I build?

What ideas am I going to pull out?

I am building it without ANY xp and NO chronicles? That's crazy talk!

Guess I'll have to make sylph, then.... just 'cause I have two.

And, of course, a Sylph has to be female, right? :D

Option 1

Option 2

Scarab Sages

Male CG Human (Kelishite) Ninja 8.2 | HP: 43/43 | AC: 26 (19 Tch, 19 FF) | CMB: +9, CMD: 28 | F: +4, R: +14, W: +3 | Init: +6 | Perc: +11, SM: +3 | Speed 30ft, Climb 20ft | Ki Pool: 5/6 | Active conditions: fatigued, haste, spirit sense, invis, fly

I like Damos drongos, which will inevitably shorten to just 'the drongos' unless my phone auto corrects it to the Broncos.... When Chris and I chat we generally refer to this group as 'Damos group' anyways. It fits.

I also like Silbegs slayers for the same reason...

I like the alts for this new group too.... Straight and to the point.

As for my alt, Jun Shu Ping is ready to rock.

Liberty's Edge

I totally support autocorrect-friendly names :) Old/Original crew is straight to the point...

A full group of sylphs would be cool, just cast obscuring mist and break ~90% of encounters

Not necessarily...

John: Don't know what Option 2 was (link is broken), but Option 1 looks... just... dreadful. Oh, it will work. Oh, it will be great when the situation is right... but I would devote all of my holy might as a GM to fuçking annihilating such a build.

The name struggle continues for 2 of our groups... looks like "The Alts" and "Bob's Beasts" are gonna stick, though (Bob's Beasts will stick if only through lack of objections).

Woo hoo! The pbP game day stuff has finally posted, and my fourth star has shown up!

Go me!

Nice, Jack! So good that it is finally up. Jesse says he'll be opening Gameday 4 up so that GMs can report directly. Halleluja on that one, I say.

It is now 6:20pm CST... and the puzzle remains unsolved!

Chris "Can you move that for me?" Lockwood remains as is!

There you go Chris, I moved the bird token a bit farther away for you. Hopefully you'll see the answer soon!

wow what a noob, didn't even have an icon!

To answer the earlier question, I currently have no plans at the moment to attend GenCon. Last year I purchased my first actual new car (well technically used, but newer than my old truck) and the payments on that are keeping me tighter than I would hope. I have a couple planned expenditures already that may prevent me from attending fun stuff outside of them. I have a wedding in New Hamp in Sept and I go to a convention in Detroit every year at the end of April.

You know you play too much PbP when you refresh and see New on all your games, click through, and it is the same person posting once in each game.

Hey Jason! Lovely to have you properly dotted in. ;-)

As for you, John, if you ever GM at an event and get the Sylph boon, you're welcome to do the floating monk. I may just do it myself... just looking at that fat Sylph is giving me the giggles.

Male Level 1 Human Commoner

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand done!

Play the appropriate music!

Well done, buddy!

As it turns out you are actually "Chris 'Can you move that for me, unless you want to wait 2 days' Lockwood".

Male Level 1 Human Commoner

Yeah, it takes me bit to move the tokens myself, sorry about that everyone. I don't use my computer at work for personal browsing, and I can't move tokens through my phone, so that's where the delays usually come from. For instance, right after work yesterday I drove to my parent's for the weekend and didn't get it in until late, so that's where the delays all came from for posting in the Damo's Drongos game. It can definitely cause a problem timing-wise, and keep everyone held up and/or cause me to beg someone to move my token for me. Sorry about that!

No problems moving your tokens, if you don't have a problem being one of the drongos! ;-)

Male Level 1 Human Commoner

Hahah, from what I can tell of the meaning of being a Drongo, that's practically a compliment!

Private Drongo, reporting for duty!

Drongo

I thought this group uses English. If Jyri can do it what excuse do the rest of us have? He probably speaks like 8 languages. Lord knows his English grammar is better than mine and I grew up learning good.

"Drongo" is a perfectly valid word. None of my spell checks like it, but as someone from Australia, I can safely say that it is no more foreign than "crikey", "struth", "arvo", "bludger", "stonking" or my personal favorite "budgie smugglers".

So, yes, I was having fun with you (but in a very Aussie way, giving your mates a hard time) and you were very much supposed to be in on it... ya bloody drongo.

Ha, not likely, but I'm flattered when you say so.. :) Actually I was a bit worried when GM'ing "Paths" if you actually understood what I was trying to write. Sometimes I use google to check if the words I'm typing even exist, but sometimes in a hurry I skip that and hope for the best.

But yeah, I'm fine with Drongo

(ugh, did a google search for "budgie smugglers", and of course it has to also return results from image-search...)

WHat, you expect us to read all the words? Also, you think we're gonna trust a link you give us after you rick-roll us?

Ya bloody drongo!

Don't read every word? Should have gone with "Bloody Bludgers" instead.

Just like Billy Joel didn't start the fire, I didn't start the Rick-Rolling.

If you trust this link, this is a classic artist's impression of our very own Prime Minister Tony Abbott in more literal budgie smugglers (and I wish it didn't look so close to the real picture)!

Well, if this whole discussion tells me anything, it's that "Damo's Drongos" is totally appropriate, and totally what we're gonna go with. Okay, now start posting on the Drongo thread! I'll get moving on the next bit very, very soon.

Mere hours until the announcement goes out for Gen Con Volunteers!!!

I am practically quivering in anticipation!

Ok so my Dice are really, really cold. Add in all my character's attack since Bloodcove started (4 characters in all), and I am avg. 7.4 per d20 roll on 14 attacks.

9,4,6,5,18,15,1,5,6,11,6,4,6,8

Help!

Help for Finarin, you may use this (whatever it is) as your next dice roll - honest, not looking, this is whatever it is: 1d20 ⇒ 4

Holy shît dude, you are cursed!

Oof... That is brutal...

Though if I was a betting man, I might put a few extra chips on the table. The average is bound to correct at some point...

I almost forgot to link everyone to the new thread! The Paizo website developers haven't heard of a permalink, so the new Campaign Thread for the Scions of the Sky Key is here:

The Drongos Search for Sharrowsmith

You don't need to dot in, but if (for some reason) you're not using your /campaigns page to keep track of your games, the old thread is now a broken link.
