Male Level 1 Human Commoner

Thanks! It's coming along, but with a few hiccups which occurred today. Because of some issues with our apartment complex, now we won't technically be fully moved until monday evening. Ugh, which sucks, but all and all, it's going good.

Having spent all day moving and not being able to check our games, it made for some great reading catching up on all the stories... goblin chaos... poochie trying to buy a tabard with a duck on it... a cutaway scene with lort stuck in absalom. I got a lot of good laughs. It felt like returning to three different novels which I'm splitting my time between, and catching up a chapter on each.

Don't forget to put the seat down. Good luck!

Got a party on today. I'll be light posting (if at all) but I'll try to do a round up set of posts tonight.

I am having technical issues, can't make or edit Messageboard alias. Can make new PFS alias, but not regular ones. I wanted to make a GM one, and some NPC since there are some in Glass River Rescue. I did some prep work, and once Gobs and Paths wrap up, and my tech issue goes away, I will create the gameplay thread.

Or I might get impatient and run it with the BobJones alias.

ok, so it is supposed to be Snowmageddon here in Chicago, or whatever so I had some extra time. I know that Damien, Steve, and Chris L. are confirmed, Chris, Jyri and Jack have played. Steve your friend is in if he wants. That leaves 2 slots. Feel free to dot in and we can go from there. If only someone could give me advice on how to recruit? Hmmm.

Trapper Mors has decided to cut back on commitments and so won't be joining us again. :-(

Just in case you can't find it:

I fully expected that to be another rickroll....

If only I'd remembered!

I was just going through the Segang Expedition to grab the Campaign Info tab template from it, and noticed this message from the Author:

Oops, looks like the thread ended :)

Thank you all for the kind words, and thanks to those of you who wrote reviews! I'm glad you guys had fun.

If any of you make it out to PaizoCon (it's the only Con I make it out to most years, since it's within driving distance), please let me know! I'd love to grab a drink or play a game with you guys.

Just thought I'd pass it along if you haven't seen it already. Looks like none of us are heading to PaizoCon this year, though. I'm seriously working up to PaizoCon 2016, though. Not unsurprisingly, it seems to be a better haunt for PFS fans and forum crawlers especially. ;-)

Yeah, wanted to go, but committed to GenCon first. Wife prefers I do not do both. Sigh.

Yeah, looks like they've messed up something... Been seeing that myself for a few days.

John, shame it was such a great SuperBowl! Not at all like the one last year where you no doubt could have got a lot of posting in! Amazing stuff. Lost my bet for Seattle, but totally didn't mind. Incredible game.

Great game.

Much better than the Kobolds vs. the StormGiants from last year.

Heh. I was thinking more like the Zombies vs the Quicklings, but that analogy works, too! A big shout out to all my US buds who helped a back water Australian like me gain an appreciation for the game... mostly through beer, sports betting and escaping the kids (oh, and knowing the rules, that helped).

Seriously, at least the commercials sucked so I had that going for me. Waiting to hear if I won my prop bet pool, the best betting of the entire year.

Nice! Yea, I am still in awe of that ridiculous catch, and even more so in awe of why they didn't run the ball at the 1 yard line... Stunned. Great game to watch. Now maybe next year the lions can be participants...

Actually I am pretty sure my head would explode from anxiety if the lions made it that far....

The goods news is, baseball season is almost here!

@ Chris L. Are you in for Glass River Rescue? If so please dot in and weight in on whether you want to run 4-peroson w/ adjustment or you want me to recruit 2 more. Thank you :) Hope you are all settled in your new digs, wait until you go shopping for curtains. You will be loving those phone short cuts from Painlord!

What was a bigger defining moment was the 1st down the Pats had right after the int. Safety, ball back (from a free kick), winning field goal was not unimaginable.

Male Level 1 Human Commoner

@ TheBobJones: I was planning on joining in on the glass river rescue, but the complications with moving into our new place are still continuing, so we won't be moved in completely until tomorrow (at best) or Wednesday (at worst). And heck yes those short cuts will help.

I'll dot in now, and build a toon tonight.

Anyone else into metal?

Machine Head's latest album is currently being blasted out of my speakers and into my ear holes. It is making my testes tingle.

Aren't you glad we have this social campaign for me to share such things with you?

So I have come across a Boon stupid jerk faces that win boons and I will be honest, I am having a bit of trouble figuring it out.

Anyone have/see/ever use the Lingering Resonance Boon #6 from Gencon 2013?

This made me chuckle... :)

I am more into things like... (old school alert) Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, etc... or somewhat more recent stuff: Breaking Benjamin, Foo Fighters (depending on my mood).

Most recently I have been really digging Skillet, Red, Ivoryline... Red probably qualifies as Metal, but I am not as much of a music nut as I used to be, I could have my genres all goofed up.

Never been to Gencon. Gencon boons might have a small part to do with why I want to go, the biggest part is I want to see the spectacle, and game at a real table with as many of you as possible.

In otherwords, I have no idea. Sorry I can't help :) Is it against the rules to link/type what the boon is? might be able to help if I could read it.

Or Silbeg will probably know... :)

More recent like Foo Fighters??? And I thought I was getting old.

Anyway, wrap your listening tubes around some Royal Blood and tell me if it gets your helmet swinging or not.

I have one. Never used, from Con of the North last year. What's up?

Choose one of the following benefits, and cross the other off your Chronicle sheet.

  • When you cast the listed spell, you may increase the DC of the saving throw by 2.
  • When you roll a saving throw against the listed spell, you gain a +4 bonus on the save

You may use this bonus once for free, after which you should check the box below; each additional use of the selected benefit costs 1 Prestige Point.

@Damien, you were correct! Even though I didn't go to GenCon before 2014!

So Before an adventure I have to announce that I have the boon, then hope I get hit with a spell that I have to save against. Seems weird to me.

Male Human Engineer/4 (ding!)

Yea, seems crazy limited... not only do you have to hope you get hit by it, you have to hope you fail the save just to be able to use the boon. Not sure it is even worth taking the hit in order to be able to get the bonus later on.

Those are the types of boons that I just ignore, and they generally never see the light of day again once I file my chronicle sheet away.

Silbeg wrote:

I was right about something? Awesome! But what? I've made a number of assertions (most recently about how to make your genitalia feel good listening to music), but nothing I can recall that relates to GenCon...

And shît boon. I'd ask for a refund.

Human (Minnesotan) Rules Lawyer 4, GM 5!

@TheBobJones, remember, you can always choose to fail a save. But, there is a reason I haven't used it yet. Of course, if you don't get hit with a spell that you fail the save against, you can always use it on the next scenario... until you do. At least, that's how I read it.

So, any of you interested in We Be Goblins, Too (the sequel)? I'd start this on around the 17th, if we have four interested.

"But Chuffy be dead? Or so stupid-heads think!" the pimple-faced little goblin chuckles deeply, "Someone resurrect Chuffy. Must think Chuffy be worth it. Haw haw! Horsies die! Doggies die! Lotsalegs-Eats-Goblin-Babies-Many die! Vorka... Vorka can stay where Vorka is. Chuffy ready for next adventure!"

And this time, Chuffy not drink strange tricksy potions that make Chuffy think Chuffy immortal. Chuffy stay in shadows and stab when safe. Tee hee.

Dark Archive

Human (Minnesotan) Rules Lawyer 4, GM 5!

Oh, that was just a really bad dream. In "reality", no one trusted Chuffy to go up to the canopy himself, so you were all able to partake of the licorice candy, curing your sickness. You split up the potions in a way that made sense (though not without some arguing), and managed to defeat Vorka and return to the Licktoads as heroes. Maybe one of the Retas died, but we won't be sure for a while yet.

Ooh, instant flash to Transmetropolitan. Ever read it?

I did not, my visual was actually from the Howard Hughes movie with Leonadro.

Check this out:

Transmetropolitan, Spider writing for too long

It's the image I got in my head. Well, that and the one of him squirting drugs into his toes.

Transmetropolitan is absolutely, 100% (1,000%) recommended by me as the best, most accessible to non-comic book readers, wonderful comic ever written. I highly recommend picking it up. I've loaned it out to so many friends that when I moved to the USA from Australia, I was only able to locate 3 of the 10 trade paperback books I have of it.

So, We Be Goblins is replayable as many times as you want (but only 1 can be assigned to a level 2 character).

We Be Goblins, Too, is a tier 2-4 module, so is not replayable (for credit).

So, does this mean that the same group will be playing WBG2? There is even more room for hilarity (but the rules on conditions not sticking a little less lenient, though there is a STEEP discount on raise dead costs, since goblins will be goblins!).

My availability will be restricted this weekend as well. Will be playing Of Kirin and Kraken in the afternoon, and then joining my wife and friends a casino up north (from me. I know, Damien, I am already 'up north'). We'll be coming back sometime on Sunday, but don't know exactly when, yet.
