any other opinions? it's our five against their eight, in a town and bar friendly to them, and some of us are wounded and out of spells.

Yep go for it, you can bet they have done this before, hire crew then make them slaves and sell em off. So call him on it, Say your here for vengeance on him taking one of your family. North men are like that. Then go at him, see what his crew do. He is not going to say he never MADE someone a slave, and he has probably done it so often he has no idea who your brother is, you don't have to tell him, so he is guilty by his own deeds.

This then becomes a family thing, he wronged your family and so iTS vendetta. NOT about slavery, after you can say so and no ones going to say your wrong. Just have to kill him and his mate so they can't counter.

For reaching 20 pages in gameplay, I'm awarding 2,000 XP, divided by six PCs is another 333 XP added to each PC's total, so each PC now has 2,738 XP!

The crew have all fled into the desert, leaving the Alanqilis docked at the quay, unguarded (except by Lord P)...

The Alanqilis is an Arab dhow, and requires a crew of ten to properly sail her... The adventurers will need to hire some skilled sailors to help sail the ship they have acquired...

When the spooked crew meet up with the others fleeing the caravanserai, they warn them that their ship seems to be haunted by either a mischievous genie, or the ghosts of Christian women. Therefore, Captain Barak, First Mate Toruko, and the surviving crewmen decide to abandon the Alanqilis and flee into the desert to hide out until the adventurers have left Anfa... They figure they can always steal or buy another ship, as long as they are alive!

Though I was hoping they would go back to the boat, unable to sail it without a full crew and we could catch them in the morning. But alas, it is not to be. But Vanna could still hamstring the captain :-)

@ Altin, Don't waste the skill point if you don't really want it, we can hire a crew. The question is if we keep it or sell it once we arrive.

I would think you'll want to sell it once you arrive at another port, and use the money to upgrade your personal gear... At 3rd level, a Pathfinder PC should have about 3,000 gp worth of gear.

Whoever got the headband of alluring charisma is already where they ought to be as far as wealth... The other magic items found in King Bogud's tomb should also be factored... Those items should be distributed and each PC should add up the total value of their gear. Those with less than 3,000 gp worth of gear should be compensated up to that amount by the sale of the ship...

The nice thing about background skills is that I feel like I can be a bit frivolous with them, use them to actually reflect what my character learns about stuff rather than just maximising bonuses for mechanical stuff (which I also quite like doing). I'm quite happy to take Prof (sailor) :)

I believe she would get an AoO on either the captain or the first mate, but even if she hit for maximum damage, either villain would still be conscious and able to escape...


I was just confused by her attacks.

We went three rounds, The First attack was surprise and ‘uno’ and the second attack was then the second round. Did she take her third round attack?

Before the second attack, you had said to post two rounds and it looks like she only posted one.

So I was hoping if round three and the AOO hit, she might drop the captain…

She seemed to be having trouble getting the post to post...

Very slim chance of that happening... she’d have to crit him twice and do close to max damage on each crit to drop him...

Yes, within reason (nothing exceeding 2,500 gp in value)...


so if Wulfgar is keeping the breastplate, is it's value full price or half price?

Does the party want to keep the ship or sell her? And if sell, do they want to sell her here in Anfa so they can buy better gear now? Or sail her to another port first and then sell?


It would be easier to sell, than to hire sailors to sail it down the coast. But if we want our own boat or a quick way off of the continent then it might not be bad to keep her.

The other question is when do we want to take on the 'persona' of a 'noble-fey's entourage'? That may determine how many ports we need to stop at.

I'm good either way.


it looks like a 'Sohar' is a type of Dhow. this one has eighteen bunks, that would have been enough room for the crew and us, not sure where they would have put the slaves...

While I'm up for either or, I think keeping the boat for now could be a bit difficult, as I don't think we have enough to sail it properly, though we could probably get some people to help us. If the tale of the cursed ship hasn't spread around too much.
