It has been clarified as a free action to switch between 1h and 2h grip on a 2h weapon.

Also regarding ACG, I find most of them somewhat uninspiring, and the concept of "counts as" classes seem redundant (maybe they were originally closer to the original classes), but I like the idea of being able to inspire companions to rage (or mini-rage) for some reason...

Just letting you know having your Arcane Bond be a two handed weapon might be an issue.. at low levels it will be killer at high levels it'd be trivial however.
There's no reason you can't pause from firing and cast a spell without dropping your bow. It only takes one free hand to cast, and one free hand to hold a weapon. If I'm missing a rule somewhere though please let me know

There used to be a caveat that required you to WIELD the Arcane Bond to Cast spells, the reason why the Arcane Duelist's Arcane Bond did not require somatic components while wielding it. I think they changed it recently that was the whole issue.

It was extremely awkward for a wizard to arcane bond a staff prior to the clarification.

I will only require an arcane bonded item to be held in one hand.

You are quite the reasonable DM.. I like that.

Will there, by chance, be an opportunity to roleplay prior to the final choosing? I'd like the chance to do so, but I understand if we don't have the chance. I just figure it's a good way to see who does and doesn't seem pumped to get into the campaign by comparison.

It's also a nice way to see who's an avid poster.

I post rather often, and actually aim for 2 to 3 times a day when my own campaign that I DM puts on the brakes. When I'm not moving forward in Leinathan's Legacy of Fire and that, I'd love to have a third game going to take up the time and I'd love to see how this game goes from level 1. I've already been looking into how he'd react with some of the other potential choices, to boot.

Scrapped my druid of Erastil idea and came up with this. A half elf druid with the tree singer archetype if you are okay with that. I know the archetype is intended for elves, but half elves can take elven archetypes and favored class options and is specifically a wild born half elf (Bastards of Golarion) mainly because I've been itching to use some of the features in this book that I have a print copy of. Still coming up with traits and equipment though.

Aight, went over the recruitment post and checked against my profile, I think I've gotten everything straight.

WARNING: Character background contains TVTropes links, don't click unless you can spare a few hours.

Yeah, I'm looking at the mythic summoner and I'm just not feeling the love. Withdrawing, with thanks.

Loooooove Groetus! Playing a cleric of him in a CoCT game ...

I understand.

Good luck with your next game.

Hmmm...

Muse-Touched Aldori Swashbuckler, maybe?

Mwahaha.

I am considering opening the discussion thread later today for roleplay. I don't want to clutter the recruitment thread. It tends to intimidate new applicants.

I'd like that as well, Considering Verim is a more down to earth and playful guy that knows when its time to do whats right while upholding the tenants of Aqueros. So Interacting with him will show the feeling quite nicely. I also am currently in a few games and post very often and in character. I have become quite reliable in many aspects. I would love an adventure with Verim, a Simple Fighter with a Shield bracing against the Unrelenting Mass of Demons.

Also I think you might have missed another possible Fighter to my knowledge.

EDIT: Now I see, Caleb is a Fighter not a Warpriest.

I went with a rogue, J. Kaba, instead of the gunslinger. Had a cooler concept.

I can feel the excitement mounting...

And just to clarify, I'm a Fighter (Two-Handed), not a Warpriest.

Mia grew up with a hedge witch but isn't one herself.
Her healing will still be her main role though.

She'll be a beast bonded witch. That way later on she can defend herself better if need be, plus she'd survive potential death at higher levels.

Pretty dark. Part 2 of the backstory will get a little more on the lighter side of things... hopefully...

Background Part 1:

Ferick was born to slave halfling parents in Cheliax. He was owned by a powerful noble family known as the Renaulds. The Renaulds were a fearsome family who owned their property with a iron fist. Many halflings were brutally murdered just so they can show their intimidation. They were rich enough to replace their losses, but the halfling were an important part of Renauld's workforce. If the halfling truly rebelled the Renauld's would lose their economic growth in Cheliax society. Some of the Renaulds acted out of fear and some acted out of pure cruelty. Clearly the institution of slavery brought out evil in their masters.

Ferick's mother, Alena, was lucky enough to be able to learn to read. She secretly taught Ferick how to read in common and halfling. Unfortunately for Ferick, there was not much education he could get. For the Renaulds did not want their slaves to be educated. His father, Tilian, was known as the fool in the circles of the Renaulds. He was whipped so many times for disobedience, but he was no fool. Tilian had a strong will and the greatest words that Ferick ever heard besides the words from his mom. "Orders are worth following, young one, know the rules so you can break them properly." Ferick made the best out of the cruelty.

When a young Renauld boy stuck a page in his face to make fun of his lack of reading, he read the page outloud to spite the Renauld boy. Terrible consequences came afterward as his father was flayed alive right before his eyes. Tillian's last words to Ferick are imprinted in his mind, "Find better rules to follow... my son. You deserve so much more than this."

The horror did not stop. Ferick was labeled as the new fool by the Renaulds. He was the representation of his father's misdeeds. They whipped him, worked him, and tried to break his spirit. The gauntlet was thrown down, but Ferick grew out of misery as a strong halfling. He long endured the torment as a way to remember his father. His mother snapped at him for this, but in way even she understood. Alena knew that if Ferick followed the same path as his father, He would be in a early grave.

To save her son, Alena brought her son to local tavern. There she found a human cleric of Sarenrae named Darenten Thorn. After much pleading Darenten took Ferick away to save his life. Alena knew that she soon was going to suffer same fate as Tillian, at least Ferick will never see her flayed alive.

Mechanically, This character will take one unbreakable fighter level, then take the rest of his levels in paladin. He is going to be a sword and board halfling paladin.

I will chip away at him.

People mistake compassion for weakness. Michael and Sanya are not weak. They are good men. Unfortunately for you, I an not.
Harry Dresden

Fomiel the conflicted Tiefling caught in the middle like a HP Lovecraft hero.

Going archmage.

Fomiel started one wotr game (that ended quickly). Check his alias for RP and writing examples.

Submitting Petravus -- Half-Elven Magus, planning to tread the Champion's Path (though would dip some dual-pathed Archmagey goodness) and aspring to become a Hellknight Signifier.

Over all, there may need to be some minor adjustments (he has 3 traits at the moment, based on the last attempt to get him into a Wrath campaign..), but otherwise good to go, I think. (Warning: Long backstory, but broken into smaller, edible chunks..)

Also, the "Role" contains a small RP sample of his perspective -- but beyond that, if you need writing samples and to see how I play well with others, feel free to look in on any of my active aliases.

NB: Have changed Laris to be human, rather than Aasimar, as mentioned previously.

While they won't carry any of Maxwell's dark, droning pessimism and witty rhetorical flourishes, the campaign I'm most proud of is Legacy of Fire, ran by Leinathan under my Aliases. Check Dmitri Mavis in my Aliases if you wish to see them, but the campaign is over a year old.

You could also look at my current campaign that I'm running.

I feel like I might make Maxwell very edgy around Tieflings... after all, they're half of what killed his family.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that Maxwell is actually a bit mad, and frequently sees, though not for extended periods of time, his family. His son in crowds, or his wife in the distance turned around and all that. Eerie stuff that's only going to get worse.

I was looking at the campaign traits and wondering how it would work if one worshipped the green faith and had selected Touched by Divinity. Would you just gain a sla based on the domains druids could access or should I just pick a deity.

Also, another question. Is it okay to buy 50 gold potions? Some of my previous DM's made us only get the most mundane of gear and strictly spoke out against buying even the weakest forms of magic during level 1 character creation.

Tallina Kapok wrote:

Pick a druid domain.

The story elements tied to the campaign traits are left vague. It would take no effort to adjust.

I have no issues with potions as long as they are paid for out of your starting gold.

Haha! Nice, I might make it through this yet, then.

Thank you very much, actually my domains are a little different as I did not realize that plant bond changed so much from the nature bond. I will pick Growth, if that's not okay I will stick with Plant.

Submitting Amaymon Filia. Will work on her profile and backstory and have those up soon. Planned mechanical: Start as titan mauler Barbarian, go a few levels of Bladebound Kensai magus, another level in titan mauler barbarian.

A highly intelligent brutish female CG tiefling Titan mauler barbarian/Bladebound kensai magus who wields a greatsword in one hand.

Tallina Kapok:

Sub-domains are fine. You will be able to cast Enlarge Person once per day as an SLA

Oh I understand, the plant bond actually references the Growth subdomain as one of its choices as opposed to simply plant, water, fire, air, or weather, the choices become plant, growth, jungle, or swamp domains. But like I said earlier, it is a spellcasting and buff focused druid with access to some healing. Currently working on a background because a page of numbers is not a character. Even if I am not selected I will be keeping this around just in case any other pbp pop up.

Amaymon Filia:

A black blade must be a weapon listed as light or one-handed slashing.

I am allowing variant heritages, but not variant abilities. If you want to wield a greatsword one-handed without penalty, a few extra levels of Titan Mauler will allow it.

I have opened up the discussion page to give characters a chance to introduce themselves and get to know each other. I will keep the discussion going until I announce my final selections, most likely Sunday evening.

Gabriel Earthwalker wrote:

Gabriel Earthwalker. Cleric / Sorcerer of Sinashakti.

Spoiler:
Cleric 1 / Sorcerer 1 / Cleric x2 / Mystic Theurge x10 / Cleric x6 so he ends up with 19 levels of Cleric and 11 levels of Sorcerer

edit: Will have to redo equipment for average starting wealth.

You do realize of course that to take Mystic Theurge you need to be able to cast 2nd level divine and arcane spells? Taking only one level of sorcerer only gives you access to cantrips and 1st level spells. You'd need at least four levels of sorcerer (as well as the three levels of cleric)to qualify, as well as the skill requirements.

I submit myself praise Iomedae

we have quite a few applicants i see

You think this is a lot of applicants; you should see the latest Kingmaker game to advertise for players over on Myth Weavers - about two dozen or so apps in about 24 hours.

I'm still working on my back story but I have the basics down.

Okay, submitting Lune Shikari, CG Arshean Tiefling (Qlippoth) Ranger (Demonslayer) for consideration. Will be submitting backstory and stats in a bit.

Still working on the character, but here is more of the plan.

Ferick is going to take the Exposed to Awfulness trait and Mythic Guardian path.

Ferick's backstory is going to connect up with Amaymon Filia's backstory in some way.

Ferick and Amaymon Filia are going to be newly weds right before the adventure starts.

Their Honeymoon is going to be the Wrath Of the Righteous adventure.

Hopefully that sparks your interest. Gives us a bit more work to do though.

Lots of nice characters so far!

Lots of front line melee ...is that a thing in this AP?

Switching from Barbarian to Free hand Fighter. Lack of anger management would cause so many marital problems.

Amaymon is married to Ferick. We will get that story done.

Dm Nightbringer, would you be fine if Ferick and Amaymon took the attached drawback for each other? Would you allow a additional trait for the drawback?

Jakru'hn Kaba wrote:

It is not so much the AP as the mythic rules. Melee characters gain substantially.

A balanced team working with each other will still be required to succeed.

Ferick & Amaymon:

I would allow it, but the trigger is going to be occurring very frequently. You're both going to be threatened or in danger constantly.

Submitting Gayle for this AP. Will need to make some slight adjustments (and will start working that immediately) but wanted to get the submission in.

EDIT: profile updated. Had taken the flaw, Shaky. Not sure if you allow a feat/trait benefit for that or not. Will keep it regardless, for flavor at a minimum.

Grand Lodge

Quite interested, will be submitting an Aasimar (scion of humanity so she basically looks human) Heavens Oracle.

Backstory part 1:
Amaymon was held captive by a group of individuals and used in underground fights for money. She was kidnapped when she was very young. She was taught magic in an effort to increase her fighting ability. She was winning quite a bit, but not enough to satisfy her masters. Deciding to cut their losses they used her in a dark ritual. That quickly turned out to be a bad idea as Amaymon was more than they bargained for. The dark power from the ritual was absorbed and enhanced her demonic blood. She then slew her captors and escaped. Now she has haunting memories of the ritual. She has learned to hate the demonic blood within her.
Will go into more detail on character page. Part 2 coming soon.

Campaign trait-Stolen Fury
Mythic Path-Champion
Intended Role-Bruiser/Tank

Presenting Paige Sentine, Human Cleric of Sarenrae. Backstory and crunch in her profile, though she was built for 25 point buy, and I'll tweak her down if accepted. She'll be pursuing the Heirophant path. One thing I want your approval on though is with her campaign trait; she gets a free Silver Holy Symbol from it. I'd like to instead get a Holy Symbol Flask, which I can use to spray enemies with Holy Water, and which costs a flat ten addition gold when buying the symbol. Can I only pay that 10 to get the trait symbol into a flask?

Paige is built for support. Glory and Healing domains provide her with good support spells; she'll focus more on buffing than healing unless someone needs it, and once she's laid all the bonuses down she wades into combat with her scimitar.
