I don't intend to have porters (dominated thralls perhaps). I'm just hoping that an enemy may perceive me as such. I totally understand porters and cooks and what not seeming out of place in an environment such as the moon.

DM Jelani |

Been reading portions of your past games, DM Jelani (namely ones I've already played, such as Carrion Crown) and I must say: They are quite entertaining!
Thanks! That particular one has a great cast of characters. It's more them than me that makes it entertaining, I'm sure. If you read through that you'll get to see how my PBP DMing style has changed/evolved over the past couple years.

As to evil, my character, after becoming a seeker has worked as an assassin for Zarta Dralneen. She worships Asmodeus, and treats contract as absolutely sacrosanct. She's evil because she is an unrepentant murderer for pay, but gets along fine with a group because she always holds to her contractual obligations. She's not completely finished yet, but I should be done with her by the 14th when I go back to work.

Cael Windstrom |

Alignment is rarely an issue outside spells and abilities. It's how the PC is played that matters. Gotten along with LE guys better then LG guys in the same party no less. Helped that the LE guy had a dry wit that I personally loved, that's devilish well played. Anyways it's more how they are presented rather then any innate moral rank. True evil is in what you do not why you do it as the saying goes. At least that's what I think. ;)

Lorenna The Winter Rose |

Yes I agree with all of that, My worry is not that, my worrys is that the majority of submissions will be evil and after all this I will be not picked because I'm the odd one out, that is all. The GM knows I can play evil PCs and have got along with evil PC v my good ones. But that going to be very hard if my PC is the only good one in a group of evil. It's why so many GMs match aliments in party's. If offerings are mistily evil then I'll make an evil or close PC that want be a problem getting along with evil PCs etc, :0)

DM Jelani |

Alignment will not figure into my choice at all. I will chose based on presentation of submission, posting history of player, and quality of the writing. Failure to follow instructions will disqualify. Those are the factors that determine who will get chosen. I expect whoever I choose to get along with the others. If someone can't, or is causing trouble then they will be killed off and replaced. It's very simple. This will be a game for socially competent adults, or it won't be a game at all.
There's nothing worse than a game dissolving into debates over alignment, in my book. I don't even think alignment should exist, but it's a pain in the butt to get rid of so for this game it stays.
Now, because it's really starting to annoy me, I am asking that from this point forward no potential players make any more commentary on any other potential players' characters in this thread. You can post here if you have questions about recruitment or character creation. Otherwise, let's keep the thread empty for people looking to apply. Publicly commenting on/criticizing someone else's submission is now grounds for disqualification! If you want to say something to someone about their submission, PM them.
For anyone looking to apply still, RECRUITMENT IS OPEN FOR NINE MORE DAYS!

Lady Rosalyn Calistra Luminuss |

I am going to change My submitted PC DM Jelani if I may.
I would like to drop, the submitted Lorenna The Winter Rose
for
Lady Rosa Luminass
As you have made it clear that, Alignment will not a large part of this game, I think her background will not course any problems really,
In game she is just someone who has been been ordered out of retirement to once more help the Pathfinder Society, who she has worked for on and off for a long time,
Her Orders are simple,
To Find out what has happened to one Brythen Blood,
"Find his him or his soul and try to be discreet while your doing it"
That simple.

Lorenna The Winter Rose |

DM Jelani Having thought about it, I think actuality Rosa would be wrong for this game, she is to larger then life, to much all round. I think it would be best to stick then with my original offering as, she would be a very interesting PC to play and expand, Rosa brings to much baggage. So I will withdraw Lady Rosa and if I may use keep my 1st built PC as my offering.
Withdrawing Lady Rosa Luminass
Keeping
Lorenna The Winter Rose
As my offered PC.
Sorry for the confusion.

Submitting Seferneru. He is an Osirian champion who is trying to get back his humanity.
A good melee fighter with debuff abilities and among the tankiest of tanks.
I did not put a link to every feat since I assume everyone knows what Power Attack does, hope it’s ok; same goes for magic items. Please let me know if there'ssomething wrong with the profile.
Gear is almost finished, I’m waiting for your answers before finalizing it. I am also lacking the non-campaign trait.
1) Living Monoliths get Greater Planar Ally as a SLA to summon sphinxes. Does that mean I can summon an Androsphinx (13 HD)? 2 Hieraco-sphinxes (8 HD)? Is there any difference in summoning a regular sphinx (12 HD) with planar ally rather than greater planar ally?
2) When the Enlarge Person granted by the Ka Stone becomes Righteous Might, does the du-ration change as well?
3) I used a Nodachi as it is a strictly better version of a falchion; if you feel this is unwarranted due to the lack of oriental elements in the backstory, I can change it back to a falchion.
4) I have a mithral full plate that does not look like one, mostly for aesthetical reasons. The Glamered enchantment costs 2,700 gp, I added only 1,000 gp to the cost of the armor since it always appears like one specific thing, can’t become every set of clothes in the world.
5) What is your stance on Wayfinder’s resonant powers?

1) Here are your options using that ability as greater planar ally: You can call an Androshinx (less than 18 HD), a Cripshinx (less than 18) or a gynoshinx (also less than 18). Or you can call two Hieracosphinxes (together 16 HD, aka less than 18)
2) Yes, the duration functions as righteous might not enlarge person.
3) I don't give a rodent turd what weapon you use. This is Golarion, there are a million ways he could have gotten a nodachi.
4) What does it look like? If it's similar to fullplate that's fine. If you want it to look like you're not wearing armor you need to get glamered or a headband of disguise or sleeves of many garments or something.
5) You can use wayfinder resonance powers if you like.

Is there anything I can be doing to make Hama's online sheet better, DM Jelani? I've noticed a few of the other player candidates are using formatting that I hadn't.

Ravingdork |

I have added more notes to Hama's starting funds breakdown Excel sheet, so it is much clearer how the math works out when it comes to things like shared item slots.

Nope, yours is pretty much perfect. I appreciate the amount of work that goes into all those links, as I've done sheets like that before.

with Lorenna The Winter Rose, player here.
I'm reworking a few small things, Item wise and fixing few number and link problems I spotted, GM also added more back round and linked to Hama and her Campaign trait, so she should all be fine if selected. Also locked off her God now she have some nice flavour form that.
Been reading some of the other back grounds, some very cool stuff there.

Cam James |

Reading up here, count me interested!
My first idea was a human vanilla sumoner, Smaug, prophet of the DRAGON! But i see that Hollie has something very similar to that :(
Either way, ill keep thinking but i fear that since i only have about 5 or so days that i might not be able to do it justice :(
Will try! =^^=

As a note, my character would really benefit from a partnership with a front-line melee character with a the outflank feat.
The synergies that could be created by each character's critical's provoking attacks of opportunity would be fun to play out.
What if the character had the ability to fly as well ... could you hop next to a flying dragon, stab it, hop to the other side and stab again, and then hop directly behind it ... so its momentum carries it away from you on its next action?
Trying to figure out how Zamax could deal with different challenges.

DM Jelani |

Just finishing things up with my submission, and I had a weird rules question...
So, let's say we've got a multiclassed monk with Flurry of Blows. Let's say he also has Two-Weapon Fighting and Improved Two-Weapon Fighting as feats.
When he full-attacks, what happens?
-Matt
He takes the amount of attacks that his flurry, or feats would give him, whichever is better (if the weapon they are using is a flurry weapon). They certainly don't stack in any way.

If you DDoor into the air without a means of flying, you will fall. If you have enough movement in the teleport to teleport up, attack and teleport back down, that's fine as long as you end on the ground. If you have some kind of flight active and then DDoor, dimensional dervish would work normally if you ended in the air. But then you'd need to make any appropriate Fly skill checks (perhaps to hover or whatever). Momentum plays zero role in Pathfinder rules questions, so I'm not sure what you're asking there.

DM Jelani |

I plan on throwing something together for this, but first, I'm curious about the state of firearms in this campaign. I'm looking at a picaroon or a sleuth that wields a revolver. Would that concept be alright under these rules?
Guns are emerging. So you can buy or make a revolver, but it won't be cheap.

Darvan Waverider |

Momentum plays zero role in Pathfinder rules questions, so I'm not sure what you're asking there.
You're right. I never realized until now that you can change directions completely at the beginning of each turn.
All those fly skill DCs are just for maneuvers in the middle of move action.

Lorenna The Winter Rose |

Its a funny thing with High level PCs, most if not all have at 16 level a means to fly and teleport, so aerial combats become normal. Brooms, flying carpets, wings and such. Which can leed to some mad stuff V fly by attacks, flacking from above and under, as well as highs on a combat map. hehe all good fun.

Cael Windstrom |

Well if you went air elementalist, you get a at will fly at 10th level. Depending on how you make use of the other abilities along the way, you have to start thinking in three dimensional terms as early as 5th level. All that being said that's most often PCs anyways. Enemies get fly at almost any level depending on the DM's choice of baddies. Just preference really, nothing like a murder of crows with fly by and bleed to make low levels hide under rocks. ;D

Latharien "Lefty" Setiva |

Here is Latharien @ 20th level, with the wrong level, loot, and stats for this game. I played him in one campaign that never finished, and another one-shot that did, rather quickly (we killed Tar Baphon before he ascended to godhood).
I'll have to adjust his numbers (a lot) and backstory (surprisingly, not much), but he's a useful character where I've played him so far. Just throwing my hat in the ring. High level games are a lot of fun, and I'd like to play him some more.
I've got so many avatars from so many attempted games, I'm recycling them now.

Cam James |

A friend of mine had an Elan Psion nomad at 4th lvl who could teleport at will and cast defy gravity for a clunky pseudo-fly/teleport thingy. It lasted 40 minutes a pop and was quite entertaining :)
As for my submission, it will be The Burning Inteligence, a goblin mindchemist who is perpetually on fire and loves words :)
I am just drafting up everything atm, but i might as well ask my big question now.
He is going to be 14 lvls of alchemist and 2 lvls of master chemist. Can i count those two lvls of master chemist as alchemist lvls so i can gat a 16th lvl discovery? (namely, eternal potion), and only for that discovery?

Cam James |

So i have pretty much decided what i am going to create and where i am going to go with it, i now just need to decide how im going to go about it.
My submission is going to be The Burning Inteligence
A goblin alchemist centeralized around perpetually burning and having an astounding intelect.
The Burning Intelect is a constant yet unusual fixture inside the great libraries of the Pathfinder Society. This small goblin, constantly alight and as bright in body as in mind, a true lover of books and old litature//--//and since he is constantly on fire a huge degree of caution and protection is required lest he burn his precious partchment//--//the Pathfinder orginization has found him to be an extreme asset on particular delvings into ancient catacombs or half destroyed relic libraries. As such they welcomed him despite him being a series of extreme contradictions, an inteligent goblin who loves to read and who is pleasure to engadge with yet retains his love of fire and imolation, to name a few.
Excerpt from the Tome of Finders: Cronicles of Pathfinders and Affiliates
To give you a taste as to what i am going to make him :)
But for what i need to figure out is how i am going to go about it.
2 things. He is a really smart goblin and is constantly on fire. I also can only choose 1 of a few very nice 16th lvl discoveries.
Revised Version
Reading more of everything, i have narrowed down my options, and so you get the shortened song :)
I am going to go Alchemist (mindchemist) for at least 14 levels but i have to decide between 1-2 levels of Master Chemist or pure alchemist.
By going Master Chemist i gain the Mutagenic Form and maybe Extended Mutagen. Doing so would allow me to do this in his background:
Others claim that his intelect was found in one of the great temples he had been sent to search.
Some wonder if even The Burning Inteligence himself knows.
Yet the truth is far different, for The Burning Inteligence is in fact a parasite, one who latched onto a goblin host and dominated its mind and body. Yet the control is not absolute, and without a daily cocktail of chemicals and regants, the host may wake up, a terrified and confused goblin, most of his life a dream and his body constantly burning away...
Cuttings from the Journal of Travis the Strange: My Travels with The Burning Inteligence in our Persuit of Knowledge.
While The Burning Intelect is the dominant personality, it is only one of two personalities that inhibit that body, and not even the original personality. While the original persona (a normal goblin whos name is lost) normally sleeps away the years uninterrupted, it is not dead. If it were ever to wake, it would regain dominance, yet would have no idea where or who it was, reverting to a normal, chaotic goblin plagued with utter terror.
Mechanically, the mutagenic form is the Intelect, who is out 24/7 and is Lawful Neutral but the original persona is that of a CE goblin. The original persona should never come out (Plot hook! For you to use if you please ^_^), and it should be quite difficult for it to, but if it did...
He would turn into a vastly more stupid goblin (even more so if i tied any inherent bonuses to the mutagenic form, a 10-12 point drop) and could be a challenge getting him to revert back :)
But doing so would exclude me from taking a lvl 16 discovery (either Eternal Potion or Grand Cognoagen, leaning towards eternal) which is a shame :(
So i am wondering if i can count the Master Chemist levels as Alchemist levels for that discovery.
The next thing would be his inteligence. Between a decent starting int stat, leveling, headband, any inherent bonuses and (greater) cognoagen, he would have quite the high inteligence, even for lvl 16 characters :)
As such his DCs will be quite high but since nearly everything he would cast would be fire based, resistances/immunities should keep it managable.
(he will also have MASSIVE skill points O.o he will know soo many launguages...)
The last big hurdle i can think of right now is fire proofing my gear (especially books/papers). Any advice on this? I am thinking of a bag of holding or something to hold papers, but i still have to get them in/out/read them.
Im also figuring that ill wear a pair of thick gloves often and a leaden cape/poncho/garment.
Still figuring this part out!!!

Iko Ilue |

OK, Gyrfalcon here.
Crunch was one thing...but it's so hard to even scatch the surface of a background that does justice to a character of this level. That said, I'm finally ready to submit Iko Ilue, The Crashing Tempest for your consideration.
He's a Garundi-born Warpriest (Sacred Fist) of Hei Feng: God of Thunder, The Dark Wind, The Crashing Waves, The Tempest That Wears All Things To Rubble. He's got the versatility to memorized whatever divine spells the party needs, but is primarily a front-liner and prefers to use his spells before combat to buff his allies or during combat as a swift self-buff via fervor.
Please let me know if I've missed anything, or if you have any questions. The Google doc that I used to write his profile has a handful of notes to remind me (and anyone interested) of how I calculated various things, e.g. his to hit, damage, saves, and stats.

Great, so now fully a third of the applicants aren't going to make it in. Good luck everyone!
Also, since I know many of you have chosen to purchase a pair of sleeves of many garments, I thought you might be interested in knowing about the newest FAQ released by game officials yesterday:
The effects are illusion (glamer) like the glamered weapon and armor properties. This means they can’t be disbelieved like a figment could, but they do not actually physically change the clothes. The transformation changes only the appearance, including the feel, smell, and other sensory aspects.
So much for using it to protect myself against swarms by changing it into a swarm suit. Maybe it will still work since it can be felt, and can't be disbelieved (effectively tricking the swarms into thinking they can't find an opening).
